A Zest for Life: Afro-Peruvian Music and Dance
--Art forms that are compelling but endangered:
--'A Zest for Life' combines performance, interviews, photographs and a host's narrative to allow us to learn about, and help preserve, a music and dance tradition in danger of disappearing. Its choreographer, lead performer and chief interview subject, Lalo Izquierdo, explains the background of the dances and demonstrates some of the percussion instruments. He is joined in the performances by the group "de Rompe y Raja." The documentary's host is Eve A. Ma, a former university professor.
