Marriage Story (2019)
The acting is great. It tells a fresh story on divorces with excruciating details.
Bambaugh's bitter-sweet comedy about a failing marriage is faultlessly acted and painfully honest about how love can survive the cruelties of divorce. So much here is so nuanced and subtle: even the (very funny) cameos of Laura Dern, Ray Liotta and -especially - Alan Alda as a trio of venal lawyers never stray into caricature. Randy Newman contributes a lovely melancholy score. But of course it's the central coupling of Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver that is pitch-perfect. Has either of them done anything as heartbreaking and true?
Pink (2016)
A thought provoking drama.
Bollywood should make these types of movies based on social issue much often. incredibly thrilling. dizzying plot twists. fantastic acting and character development. and a story that rings true all over the world!
28 Weeks Later (2007)
Recommended!!
I remember watching 28 Days Later (2002) a long time ago and thinking that it was a great zombie classic. And this sequel lives up to it pretty well. It doesn't top the first movie, put it offers plenty of explosive zombie gore and buckets of blood, some intense atmosphere and the cast does a good job. Imogen Poots, Rose Byrne, Jeremy Renner and Mackintosh Muggleton are strong and believable in their roles. It offers the same gritty and shaky camera work that its predecessor had, and even recycles its musical theme. This sequel is also interesting because it deals with themes of mass hysteria and human nature. Overall, I was entertained by it, 28 Weeks Later is a good and gory horror follow up to a classic genre pic, and I really hope that those talks about other future sequels being in the works are really happening. Recommended!!
Verónica (2017)
It's okay, but nothing spectacular.
It was just predictable and kinda cliché, with a lot of loopholes. Heard all the hype and got excited, but it was a waste of time. Not scary, just mildly creepy with added unnecessary things. The ending was weird and abrupt.
Lupt (2018)
Nice Movie and good directorial debut.
I saw the ratings here and prolonged watching LUPT. I usually find few Bollywood horror movies with unnecessary songs and sex, so keep myself away from such movies but with my friend's protests, I gave it a go. This film isn't going to make me think about it for days but it did hold my attention whilst watching it. Overall I felt this movie was better than the typical horror movies that come out every year. The story is not new but its presentation is very good. Again not for hardcore horror movie fans as this film is character-driven and not that scary. I am a great fan of Vijay Raaz. He is fabulous in the film. But his culmination in the film could have been better.
It may not be the perfect horror film, but the spooky atmosphere, brilliant acting, great sound effects, decent cinematography and good direction make up for the drawbacks in the movie. I'm glad I ignored the negative reviews of a few critics and watched it with an open mind. As Directorial debut of Prabhuraj, I would say he has done an excellent job in "Lupt" and has a bright future ahead. I've rounded the number to 7 for its effort in making a decent psychological thriller. Overall I liked the movie.
Stree (2018)
Brilliant Film.
Based on a local story, this is an innovative work and a new kind of horror movie. Although categorised as a horror movie, there is nothing to be afraid of. People expecting a horrifying movie e will be highly disappointed. However, it is a good one time watch and contains a feel good factor. And acting skills of all these actors are already proven. And they have proven themselves again.
Ghost Stories (2020)
pretty forgettable; i wouldn't recommend.
I would never recommend watching this movie. It is not scary at all but, it is too gross. The Anurag Kashyap's sequence is the worst of all 4. Please don't watch it if you want to save your precious 2 hours
Ek Thi Daayan (2013)
Second Half fails.
Ek thi Daayan is a superbly woven thriller with some ecstatic performance by Konkana Sen Sharma in the first half. The first half is made very smartly with extraordinary conviction but the second half is very disappointing. The first half has really strong scares but second half has none.
Apharan (2018)
Only the last few episodes are good
For me 6 to 7 episodes were boring and it was without logic.
Only last 4 episodes were interesting as there were twist in the story. 6/10
