Natalie Wood: What Remains Behind (2020)
HISTORY RARELY IS ACCURATE
Many who write about Natalie Wood were not alive at the time or were very young, like the Wood and Wagner kids. She was an actress who could convey emotions. She was a studio product whom we loved, but her education and worldly experience was lacking because of that industry. This is shown in the documentary. I remember the day she died. I also recall the event seriously colored by the alcohol and/or drugs, Christopher Walken, a fight on board, and the crew more talkative than today.. Much is glossed over to make Robert Wagner appear like a god and to deflect the fact that there is still talk of re-investigating the case. Christopher Walken, now an American icon, is glossed over. He does not appear to say anything. It is easy to malign Lana, her sister, by saying that she mooched off her sister's status all of her life. Sadly, her furor allowed Mr. Wagner to play the silent, grieving spouse in perfect diplomacy. She needed more support. Now he comes up smelling like a rose, with a wife who 'drowned by her inebriation'. I do not buy it. Public Relations people are paid well to cover calamity. This film is a feel good piece for children who can't handle the truth.
Schooled (2019)
Tim Meadows, the Comedy Principal Again
'Schooled' can stand on its own. From an educational standpoint, there is a great deal in the sit-com that could NEVER take place in a school. Then again, as in REAL life, there are some very strange events which do occur and would make teaching more enjoyable for many, if humor was only displayed!
Did anyone else notice that Tim Meadows is again playing the same type of Principal from 'Mean Girls'??!
