I Came By (2022)
8/10
I loved it
7 September 2022
Came for George MacKay, stayed for the story. It kept me perfectly entertained on a rainy Saturday afternoon with tea, sandwiches and my two dogs by my side and that was all I needed at the time. It may not be the most brilliant script or directing but the acting is superb and I am willing to overlook a few plot holes. I was a little bummed at the finale as I was invested in some of the characters but really enjoyed it overall. Hugh Bonneville, Kelly Macdonald and the brilliant, young George MacKay are always a pleasure to watch. I had previously watched Babak Anvari's Under the Shadow and found it very compelling. I believe if given the right script he'll have a solid place in this genre.

OMG, I hated every minute of it

There have never been a movie so uninteresting, son unengaging in recent history despite such a great cast! It's almost two and a half hours of my life that I will never get back.. I finished it in four seperate sittings and still had very hard time not to abandon it altogether. I guess I kept waiting for a super redeeming scene or a twist, which unfortunately never came.. I had great hopes about this one, but it turned out to be a complete waste of my time.

Enjoyed it immensely!

Great story with even greater actors, what's not to like? I simply adore Ethan Hawke, the man knows his craft and wears every role like glove. Young up and comers Mason Thames and Madeleine McGraw are brilliant, I'm sure we'll see them a lot in coming years.

Without Mahnke, it's worthless

Why take something so captivating and beautiful and turn into a bland, generic gore-fest? Season 1 was perfect in every way imaginable and Season 2 without Aaron's excellent narration and back stories is completely worthless. My rating is for Season 1 only.

Mind numbingly awful

2 hours of my life that I'll never get back. Seriously.

Never have I seen such a laughable script in my life. Acting is wooden at best, and dialogs are so uninteresting to the point that we completely stop caring about these guys 15 minutes into the film.

I won't even bother going into the details, because nothing I say would spoil this god-awful film. All the characters are made of cardboard, there is no depth, no story, no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I kept waiting for something engaging to happen all through the film and it never came.

I do wonder what was Liam Neeson thinking though. I mean, why? Why at this point of your career would you want to self-destruct?

This may be one of the lamest films I have ever seen and it truly sucked the life out of me.

And I demand to know where did this 7.1 rating come from??
