The Walking Dead: Rest in Peace (2022)
Perfect? No. Fitting? I think so.
I was one of those obsessed TWD fans from the time I discovered it on Netflix late 2012/early 2013. I remember it was at the season 3 mid-season break. I would try to think of every imaginable way the show could end. Everything from the entire group meeting it's demise at one time, to a time jump of an old man Carl telling survivors his story. (S8 killed that one)
I just hoped that they would think of a way to bring a satisfactory conclusion. Even though there are still loose ends, it was a better ending to a popular show than we've seen on other shows. It was definitely better than Game of Thrones or the Sopranos. It didn't treat the viewers like kids or leave the ending so vague that I would want to throw my remote through the tv.
Resident Alien: Best of Enemies (2022)
Good episode...
First off, this was by far one of the funnier episodes. When Harry has Pete(alien tracker) in his kitchen and chopping onions, eyes watering, I almost peed myself laughing so hard. The whole exchange was awesome.
"I got onion in my eye! Son of a bitch!"
It delivered more laughs than any other since the earlier episodes.
It's going to be interesting to see what the rest of the message was, that Harry sent to himself...as Goliath...thru an alien baby...from 300 years in the future. Reading that aloud makes it sound like crazy talk.
As an added bonus, it looks like the resort storyline is dead, so hopefully that means we get less Ben & Kate. I don't hate them or dislike them, I just don't care. He lucked into the job, and married out of his league.
The Uncle Floyd Show (1974)
Takes me back..
I grew up in Jersey in the 80's and remember watching The Uncle Floyd show with my dad. Loved Oogie. One of my happiest moments from then was when I saw Uncle Floyd at the Monmouth County fair and got his autograph.
Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)
It's awesome for what it is.
What I mean is, I keep seeing reviews about the wooden actors or a crummy plot. It's almost that they forgot it's a movie about 400 foot tall monsters beating each other up. In nearly 70 years of Godzilla movies, nearly every single one is just meant to entertain and have fun. Not be a kaiju version of Gone With the Wind. The first one had a message about nuclear weapons, but other than that, it's just a carnival ride.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
Friggin' awesome...
I'm not going into details of the movie, because that's been done enough. But to those who complain that "the human development isn't there. No depth to the characters..." What did you people expect? It's a Godzilla movie, not Gone With the Wind. When I saw the 2014 movie I remember that liked it, just wish there was more monster action. Well, this movie delivered and delivered in a big way.
And to me, the little, and not so little, Easter eggs were the best part. From G's classic dorsal plates and roar to Mothra's theme. The only missing part was Rodan's theme which I've always been a fan of. Anyhoo, loved the movie and I'd imagine that most Godzilla fans will too.
