Enola Holmes (2020)
Disapointed
The story started great.
Eudoria disapear. Enola discovers her mom's plans which are kind of "evil". The story could have focused on that!
Eudoria could've turned out to be the villain, Enola would've had to fight her own mother, the woman who raised her, who taught her everything she knows and whom she loves the most! It would have been a great character development! (And we know how good Helena is at portraying villains)
Instead, the movie focused on a boy who ends up to have a crush on Enola.
And if people tell me that the boy vote was important, I know and Sherlock could've handled it!
Gods of Egypt (2016)
Too long
I was thrilled to see this movie because I am a fan of mythology (Egyptian, Greek, Norse), and in addition, this film is somehow the adaptation of the animated movie of 1998 "The Prince of Egypt" by the DreamWorks studios. I found the film rather good but too long (2h31 min) for a story that most already know.
Hercules (2014)
Expected better
Being a fan of everything that is mythological it was impossible for me not to go watch it. But I was a little disappointed, I thought the film would show us gods in other forms than statues and that there would be magic. However, Dwayne Johnson has come up quite convincing in his role (Hercules), as well as Rufus Sewell (Autolycos) and Ian McShane (Ampharios) who gives a hint of humor to this film. To summarize, Hercules is a good movie to watch with friends, I also strongly advise those who are fond of mythology (especially if they watched the Hercules serie of 1995) to watch it.
Me Before You (2016)
Lessons in Love
Me Before You is a film full of emotion. Through this film, Thea Sharrock shows us that life does not always go as we want, but it must be lived fully, make the most of. The fact that Will still decides to end his life despite all Louisa's efforts to restore a taste for life, shows that even love can not change the way we see things because deep down he knew that nothing would change. But because he loved her, he changed Louisa's life so that she could live it as she pleased. Love takes many forms and even paralyzed or dead we can continue to bring happiness to those we love. So yes, I really loved this movie.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016)
Pride & Prejudice & Zombies : Review
SPOILER
I loved this film, being a fan of Jane Austen, especially of Pride and Prejudice, Burr Steers made a fantastic adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's book. During the film I was amused to say the famous quotes along with the actors. The fact that there are zombies did not change anything, on the contrary that made the film even more hectic and intriguing.
The combat scenes were very well choreographed, especially the one between Mr. Darcy and Lizzy, in which one could see passion even though they were angry (except Darcy). The actors are fantastic, I loved Sam Riley in Malefic, Lily James in Cinderella and Douglas Booth in Romeo and Juliet.
Burr Steers (Seth Grahame-Smith), demonstrated the strength of women in a historical context that are not conducive to this. Even though Lizzy has always been strong in character.
I advise this film to all fans of pride and prejudice.
