Forever Us (2023)
Better than most in this genre lately
I really didn't expect much from this obviously low budget film, but it turned out to be pretty good actually. Good acting on the side chick's part. The only thing I really didn't like was the ending. They definitely should have paid for what happened to that woman. The fact that they just got out of it was completely mind-boggling. Other than this, the movie was very much so better than many other movies in this category. Normally all of the acting sucks and just not a lot going on as far as the plot, but this movie really stands out and above the others as far as I'm concerned. I think it's worth a watch.
Kindred (2022)
VERY disrespectful to the book
I was so excited about the possibility of this someday being turned into a movie. I recently saw it was made into a miniseries, and I was beyond excited. I've read the book literally about six or seven times in my life, and so much has been changed in this series that it's insane. First off, the time is supposed to be 1976 (obviously no cell phones), and secondly, Dana and Kevin are husband and wife (not 2 total strangers who end up back in the slave times together!), with Kevin being much older. Also, Dana's mother never shows up when she goes back to the past. It's crazy! As for Hagar, she doesn't even come into the story until Alice gives birth to her toward the end of the book. I could go on and on with all of the flaws that are in this series, but why bother. Anyone who's actually read this masterpiece written by Octavia Butler would be seriously disappointed after watching this atrocity.
Sinister Minister (2017)
HORRIBLE!!
This movie was completely stupid and atrocious on every level. It didn't know which way it wanted to go and didn't make any sense whatsoever. The acting was also horrendous. I'm mainly referring to the mother and the female officer. I could've made a much better movie using randomly picked people off the street. This is honestly the absolute worst movie I've seen in a VERY long time.
Pet Sematary (2019)
Disgrace to Stephen King!!
I signed in just to add this review on the remake of Pet Sematary. I'm at a loss for words and hardly know where to start with this review. First off, the storyline was altered dramatically from the actual story, and this was the first huge mistake. The movie was also extremely slow, boring, and just ridiculously idiotic. It lacked substance and anything else that would cause this movie to be the least bit likeable. I don't know who's idea it was to remake this movie, but it should've been left alone. There's not even any comparison between the original and this piece of crap. And the ending just pissed me off due to the stupidity of it. John Lithgow REALLY should've passed on this embarrassment of a remake.
Only Mine (2019)
Horrible!
This is undoubtedly one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It's also based on a true story, but really falls short in regards to the way things actually happened. Save yourself the annoyance of watching this movie because it sucks bigtime.
My Sweet Audrina (2016)
Just NO!!!
This movie is a total disgrace to the book. The book draws you in, but this piece of trash movie just makes you want to run away from the television.
My Teacher, My Obsession (2018)
Horrible!
This is hands-down one of the worst movies I've ever seen. There's no real plot or point to the entire movie. I also can't get past how horrible the father's acting was. Honestly extremely painful to watch.
Bird Box (2018)
I actually liked it
I'm truly not understanding all of the hateful reviews on this movie. It was actually pretty good in my opinion. Many people are saying this movie was horrible, blah blah blah. It was FAR from horrible. However, I do get the annoyance over not knowing the answers to certain things such as where and how they obtained food, water, and other things over a period of 5 years. Other than that, it's a pretty decent movie.
Room (2015)
Utter BORE!!
First, how does the movie just start with no background information explaining to the audience how this woman even ended up stuck and living in this basement?? Like what happened to her that landed her in this place?? I honestly couldn't get past the first 20 minutes of this movie because it was so boring and offers no explanation for anything. I have no clue how it got such high ratings.
Love by the 10th Date (2017)
Just BAD!!!
I usually like movies with Meagan Good, but this movie was totally stupid. She plays a character who's extremely desperate to find a man to the point where it totally consumes her. This is the reason so many women end up in horrible relationships. This movie relays one message loud and clear: if you're a woman without a man, you better start trying HARD to find one under any circumstances. Another example of why I gave this movie 1 star: This main character's coworker ends up dating and then marrying a man they met in a club. Just one problem! He's VERY gay! Now, I have absolutely no problem with men or women who are homosexuals, but why on earth would it be written into the script to have this woman marry a man who's so obviously gay??? This movie sends many very bad and condescending messages to women, and it's very unfortunate considering the times we're currently living in. I certainly wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone unless they're just bored and have lots of time to kill.
