The Hustle (2019)
be original or be better
If you're going to take on Ghostbusters or Dirty Rotten Scoundrels maybe it would be a good idea not to be horrible. It's a good thing there are many many talented women writing and producing great original content. Otherwise, these would be some serious set-back moments. Fat girl can't jump over a hurdle - ha ha?
You know what might be better than Steve Martin and Michael Cain? Nothing. You know what might be better than Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, et al? Nothing. You know what might be better than Ocean's every movie except Oceans 8? All of them.
If it seems I'm piling on, don't blame me, the filmakers did this to us.
Can't wait to see a female cast ruin the next lazy remake. Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones in The Sting 2? (No offense to either of these performers, just had to plug in a couple names). AAaaanyway, I don't think The Hustle is a good movie. Peace and love, peace and love
Booksmart (2019)
You're not a critic
If the comedy makes you laugh, it's a 10. If it doesn't it's a zero. The wannabe critics are pathetic. First of all, to criticize art in any form is silly. Especially because I'm doubtful the critics produce any. But for the sake of this venue, people will say it was hilarious, I laughed, etc., and then give it an 8. I don't get it. I guess you think your opinion of the movie is so important that you don't dare give it more than it may deserve in the public eye.
I laughed, it's a comedy, it's a 10
Perfect Bid: The Contestant Who Knew Too Much (2017)
Never happen again?!
Drew Carey stating (seemingly a bit bitter) that it will never happen again makes me think that it won't be fair in the future. Obviously they can randomly change prices based on a number of factors but if the game can't be beat, it's not a game! I don't watch anyway but it is a game show right? Maybe they're going to add pit bosses to get rid of people who know too much ha!
Would have been much better if they exposed the show more. Drew being upset was hilarious. I remember when HE was.
Wine Country (2019)
It is straight up hilarious
I can't believe I have to defend this movie, and worse, realize that sexism is worse than I thought. This is completely out of character for me but daaamn! The few poor "reviews" I read were from men/boys and I would be willing to bet that the same script and performance, with equally high power talent of men, would get great reviews. This movie is funny.
The only time I feel the need to spend the effort to review a film is when I think it has been treated unfairly and, I guess my catch phrase - if you don't get it, you don't have to comment. Peace and luv, peace and luuuv
A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III (2012)
Don't write a review if you don't get it
It's okay to just be quiet. I loved this movie (obviously) and generally take my own advice as to being quiet. BUT, when I saw the rating of this movie I lost faith in all reviews and mankind (again). If you don't like this movie you are either uptight or stupid. Even the trivia part stated that Bill Murray was dressed like John Wayne - no kidding?! Why write a review when you don't understand the movie at all?
