I enjoyed the misanthropic Dennis Quaid.
This is also the most I have liked a performance from Sarah Jessica Parker.
I also enjoyed the Thomas Haden Church character although I thought it was quite similar to the role in Sideways.
I laughed a lot and heartily so, as there was a lot of offbeat humour that I find very funny.
I found it difficult to tolerate the music. It was quite palatable music, but there was just far too much of it. My preference is for music to be the icing on the cake of a film and not part of the cake mixture.
I think it was good to see actors trying something a bit different.
There were points where I couldn't quite understand why the characters behaved in ways in which they did. But then that kind of thing happens in life too.
