Come Play (2020)
Creepy yet cute
The only thing I had a hard time with is how two people can have an autistic child for 12 years without understanding his disability. Other than that it balances perfectly between scary and sweet. Pleasantly surprised by how few jumpscares there were.
Willy's Wonderland (2021)
Nicolas Cage is Life
If the mere sight of Nicolas Cage isn't enough to tickle your fancy then maybe this isn't for you. If you however, like me, thrives on over the top action, bad supporting actors and Nicolas Cage beating the crap out of machines for 90 minutes without saying a word; this is your lucky day
Bridgerton (2020)
Cute but repetitive
This is a really sweet and funny series but after a while you get kind of bored. There are no new intrigues, just the same one happening to other people. Also, very few characters show any kind of depth.
This is a light watch, for sure. Just don't expect any kind of grandeur like "Pride and prejudice" or "Emma". Jane Austen it is not.
The Outsider (2020)
Unique
Great story, great acting and perfect pace. Nothing felt rushed or forced and no loose ends. Great watch
The New Mutants (2020)
Cute
I expected a horror-action but got a sweet lesbian love story. I'm not even disappointed!
Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)
Hello Sir Elton John
Basically, Elton John (and Merlin) are the only reason you should watch this film. Everything else is... well... I've enjoyed watching spaghetti boil more.
Truth Seekers (2020)
Brilliant
What more can I say than funny, heartbreaking and cute. You have to watch it!
The Witches (2020)
May not cater to all
If you're thinking about watching this because Guillermo del Torro was involved and you're expecting gruesome horror, then walk away. This is definitively a family film. Some scenes are extremely childish, as they should for a family movie. As long as you don't watch it under false pretences it's a fun and cute movie.
His House (2020)
Watch this!
Not only was this a very creepy horror movie but it also, in a very educational way, highlighted the extremes humans have to go through in order to flee their homelands and what hardships that awaits once they're out. It's scary, beautiful and heartbreaking.
Instant Hotel (2017)
Too much drama
This show could have been wonderful and relaxing if they didn't do everything in their power to create friction and drama within the groups. They should wait until everyone had stayed at each others before revealing the scores and comments.
Instead, we are left to watch as beautiful Airbnb's in fantastic areas get ridiculously low scores because of vendettas and petty rivalry.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Close to perfection
Not only is this a beautifully filmed, well written series with exquisite acting, the way they seamlessly have woven in a broad variety of ethnicity, gender and sexuality should be a inspiration to upcoming productions.
Just as "Haunting of Hill House", this series will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions. From laughter to horror to distraught.
If you, however, want jumpscares, blood and gore you might want to look elsewhere. This is slow burn, bone chilling and emotional.
Bando (2020)
From emotional drama horror to pure action
This movie has barely any correlation to it's predecessor. It's as if they made a sequel to "The Elephantman" and made it an action comedy.
Ghosts of War (2020)
Needed more cash
This was a thoroughly enjoyable horror movie which could have been awesome if they just had a little more time/money. There were several scenes you could tell had been cut and put in the wrong order. But premise, acting and story was really good.
Legends of Tomorrow (2016)
Popcorn series
It could be really awesome if it weren't for the characters, the script, the actors and the dialog.
Zombieland: Double Tap (2019)
Save your money
This movie is the perfect example of how to most effectively ruin the memory of a great film.
It Chapter Two (2019)
A ridiculous crapfest
My biggest question is; what did the lights department have against epileptics? It's was just blinking lights, weird cgi and mediocre acting.
Ghost Mine (2013)
Too much, even for me
I love to watch paranormal shows that are obviously fake and laugh. But this was just too much! Normally they at least cast people who can actually ACT and there is no way all this paranormal stuff happens instantaneously like that. One star.
Annabelle Comes Home (2019)
Pleasantly surprised
The best Annabelle by far, which doesn't say much considering the crapfest that was the previous two. But I actually enjoyed this! Good pace and creeping horror instead of jump-scares. A welcomed change.
Hellboy (2019)
My brain hurts
This movie had more and worse twist and turns than a bad soap opera. I liked the guy who played Hellboy. He did the best he could with a terrible script. The CGI made me long for the days of the silent movies. Their props were better back then.
Leprechaun (1993)
Just... No...
I know it's an older movie (that hurts to write....) but when Jennifer Aniston is the best actor, then it's a very crappy film.
Heilstätten (2018)
Worst twist since Crystal Skull
This movie would've gotten a higher score from me if it wasn't for the lame twist at the end. From a nice old fashioned ghost horror to run of the mill torture porn.
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
Ouch!
This series will pull you in, feed on every emotion you have and then spit you out leaving you feeling as if you've just had a thousand spontaneous orgasms.
The Witch in the Window (2018)
Aww
This has got to be the cutest horror movie ever made.
The Nun (2018)
Too many jumpscares
Over the top special effects, bad acting and a ridiculous story. No favourite of mine.
Truth or Dare (2018)
Just... Noooooo
I hated all the characters. I'm used to horror movie characters are stupid but this is just ridiculous!
If you want to watch a bunch of stereotypical, self-centred idiots kill themselves and thousands of innocent people, then you've come to the right place!
