Brought me back to my childhood
5 April 2023
Great memories, it is just a fun movie just like the tv show ...... just fun. Casting is perfect, John Goodman was spot on, Rick Moranis a perfect Barney, Rosie O'Donnell (was my favorite) a lovable Betty and Elizabeth Perkins was Wilma from the second she appeared on the screen. Adding Elizabeth Taylor to the mix was genius, and Halle Berry amazing, from the second she appeared all you thought was she is a star. The attention to the detail was true to cartoon. I think it is the best live action cartoon series brought to the big screen. It is truly a family friendly film, great direction by Brian Levant.

I do not know where to begin
21 February 2023
This show is magnificent, so powerful. I was there opening night of the original production and I loved some of the changes they made. I cried at least 3 times (and I am very familiar with the show). I am so glad that these actors were filmed and we now have this amazing production we can now see over and over again. It is perfectly cast, the intensity of the show is overwhelming (in a good way) these actors give you no choice but to go on this journey with them, they pull you in from the beginning. I especially loved the new opening with Kim and the Engineer. The strength of these talents on the stage is a gift we are given while we watch this journey. The Engineer was amazing, to be able to despise his cruelty but yet like and feel for him is an amazing actor embodying the best of his gifts. I am not sure of the words for the actress playing Kim, the minute you see her you want to protect her but we watch her strength emerge, stunning performance. Everyone in this company gives it their all every minute, every second and never lets us done. The act 2 opening is powerful, beautiful solo done with such emotion and conviction, Bravo! Highly recommended!

Bravo to cast, creatives and crew
21 February 2023
Wonderful production. Great use of the intimate stage, wonderful voices. The relationship of the sisters really showed here, the differences of the sisters as well but their family bond is always there. Very clever. The non ability of a larger stage or scenery made you see and hear the talent of this cast. It played really well. A show can be a blockbuster without flying helicopters, crashing chandeliers, nothing against those elements, this show focused on the actors and their incredible ability to transport us back in time. Congrats and Bravo to all !! Highly recommend watching this wonderful and endearing production.

Way ahead of it's time
8 November 2022
This movie was something that the world had not seen in a "mainstream" movie. Yes, we know the plot before the movie starts (and basically we knew that when we bought the ticket). The movie was brave for it's time, no actor would go near a movie with this content, but these 3 wonderful actors took the chance to create something for people to think about, talk about, maybe even open their minds. Kate Jackson, such an under used movie actress, she is on in every moment, she radiated the emotions of this person who's life changing without her approval or consent. The one on one 'therapy" sessions that are woven into the movie with each character was an excellent use of delving more into the character and the honesty of human interaction. Yes, we have changed, evolved more since this movie debuted but give this movie the credit that it deserves.

West Side Story is a masterpiece
4 March 2022
I was in the revival of WSS many moons ago and have been hearing for years of this project. It was well worth the wait Steven Spielberg is a genius everything about this movie shines from the acting to the singing to the choreography the way the camera moves musically as the story progresses. There are some movies that are made by directors that you know their heart and soul is in the project and that is what comes through with this movie. By watching this movie you can tell that Mr. Spielberg had to tell this story. This movie had a heart it has a soul and has a strong message. Congratulations to all involved with this movie that will be watched for generations to come. Having Ms. Moreno in the movie was brilliant, she is a brilliant tip of the hat to the older movie and brings so much humanity in her performance in this movie. Brava!

Excellent series ...Why no Emmy nominations
1 August 2021
If it was nominated for Emmys it would have won all of them. Unsure why the Emmy voting committee decided to turn it's attention away from the series. This series is so layered to point of each child being the 5 stages of Grief, so well acted and so well done. Each performance hand crafted to perfection. No "holes" in the story, the story never gets away from itself as some series do. Excellent series, I began to watch this show because I am a fan of Ms Gugino but now I am a fan of the whole cat. It was nice to see Henry Thomas and Timothy Hutton back in action. Plus it was also great to see Annabeth Gish again as well. Highly recommend this series. Bravo to all!

Michael Jackson with a British Accent
26 May 2021
I liked this movie, it was nice to see life behind the cameras, gossip and numerous trials and accusations. Navi looks like MJ in certain shots and honestly portrays him but his accent was like "huh"..... is that a British accent??? Other than that Navi was great, this is a difficult person to portray many layers to this magnificent person, Navi does embrace all of MJ, A job well done by Navi. I recommend this movie but it saddens me that MJ filled our life's with music and heart and he was unable to enjoy the simple acts of life with his children. He was a prisoner of his home unable to do anything to go anywhere, so sad. MJ is one of most loved, respected artists and will always be remembered.

The Act (2019)

Patricia Arquette is outstanding supported by an amazing cast!
15 May 2021
Sad story but this story must be told. The mom's disease is very dangerous and sometimes very difficult to see and understand. This child's journey is based on lies, fears and manipulation. The casting is a perfect storm, the chemistry of these actors is incredible. Chloe Sevigny (never a bad performance) brings beautifully the skepticism of the situation, her acting is effortless, her character reminds me of the public eye seeing this scenario unravel and trying to put all the pieces together. Wanting to believe but knowing there is something behind it all. Joey king is spot on with her performance. Patricia Arquette is amazing and so engaging, we know that the character she is playing is abusive but you feel for this character mental issues, duality on that level is not an easy thing to portray so effectively. Well done mini series, disturbing but effective.

Why why why remake a movie when the original still stands the test of time
20 December 2020
Are we out of new ideas to film, are screenwriters running out of new stories? Anne Hathaway has hard shoes to fill, Anjelica Huston was incredible (it is hard for an actor to create a character where you can love and hate them in the same performance, that is quite an accomplishment). Ms. Hathaway does well but it hard to shake the memories of Anjelica Huston. Big fan of Octavia Spencer and was glad she was in the movie. The movie feels very "disconnected", it is like all the performances are there but they never come together, I think the relationships never form they seem very superficial and unfocused. The talent is there the film is not.

Cats (2019)

The most uncomfortable movie to watch - Stephen King meets Cats.
20 November 2020
I was in CATS and what we did was use our dancing and acting skills to take an audience on a journey. The combination of amazing choreography, make up and costume made it feel real. No CGI, No Ears that moved, No robotic tails, no weird body posture. The show ran for 7,485 performances. Why did they think they needed to change it? A show that ran for 18 years on Broadway does not need much of a rewrite or a reimagining. The audiences knew we were not Cats we were actors portraying Cats this movie has morphed your worst nightmare of a Stephen King Cat into an overdone mess. This movie should come with a warning "You will never get this 110 minutes of your life back".

Spoiler Alert - does not make sense
30 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
So these aliens weakness is water, so they come to a planet with humans who are 60% water and the earth is 71% water, very risky for them. Also a farm with no farming equipment, which I can get past. The water idea makes no sense, acting is good, any actor who can make this script work is talented, they all work together in this ensemble piece and try to make this movie believable and they do set up their world well, they just cannot fix bad plot points and bad writing.

Just call it something else
10 June 2020
The Broderick family tragedy is very famous with a lot of media coverage so this retelling of this story is pointless and inaccurate. Poorly written and the acting is terrible especially Amanda Peet. This is not the Broderick story, maybe the Creatives should have done their research better or just created another movie removing the Broderick family. If you want to see an amazing performance(s) watch Meredith Baxter as Betty Broderick in both TV movies.
