Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984)
Faithful adaptation, read the book first
1984 is a 1984 dystopian science fiction drama, written and directed by Michael Radford, based on the book of the same name by George Orwell published in 1949.
Orwell's work is considered one of the greatest literary works in history, and the film faithfully portrays the events narrated in the book. The story is set in a fictional future in 1984, when much of the world is in constant war. Britain has become a province of the totalitarian superstate Oceania, run by Big Brother, a dictator supported by an intense cult of personality manufactured by the Party's Thought Police. The Party engages in total surveillance and, through the Ministry of Truth, daily rewrite history and inundate the population with constant propaganda to persecute individuality and independent thought.
For his work, Orwell, who was a democratic socialist, was mainly inspired by the totalitarian regimes of the Soviet Union during Stalinism, as well as Nazi Germany. As such, his work is considered an important object of study to understand the consequences of totalitarianism, mass surveillance and authoritarianism in society. For some it is a prophetic vision, or rather a warning, for others it is a reflection of reality.
Well, the book is one of my favorites of all time and has deeply influenced my way of thinking. I consider that the film exceptionally captures the world imagined by Orwell, many aspects captured in the film are just as I imagined while reading the book. Even so, I think that if you have not read the book some important aspects of the film may seem confusing, since for obvious reasons it is not possible to explain everything in such detail as in the book. Mainly aspects such as the use of Newspeak, what Ingsoc is or the way in which history is rewritten can escape the viewer's attention. That is why I highly recommend reading the book first and then watching the movie, I feel that it would be a more rewarding experience since the movie could serve (as in my case) to clarify some doubts or see things from a different perspective.
To sum it up, 1984 is an excellent adaptation, watching it made me think a lot again, the scenery and the cast were generally very well chosen. Orwell's work will be relevant until the end of time, in the meantime we have this excellent adaptation so we don't forget his message.
Alien: Covenant (2017)
Lost in space
Apparently someone decided to make an Alien movie, where the main element (the Alien, wow) barely appears on screen. In its place we have a cast of diverse but uninteresting characters, and a bizarre quasi-romantic relationship between two twin androids.
The film manages to capture some of the atmosphere of the first two, but it takes a long time before it starts to get really interesting.
As such, it is an installment of the franchise that goes without pain or glory. Maybe it manages to raise some interesting philosophical questions, but in the end, without the dread feeling of the first, or the intense action of the second, the final result leaves you as empty as outer space.
Desperado (1995)
Stylish and exciting
I really enjoyed watching this movie. I admit that I haven't seen the first of the trilogy, since I haven't found it on any current platform, but that didn't stop me from finding this sequel great.
Personally, I really like exuberant and unrealistic action films, which is the characteristic mark of Robert Rodriguez, of whom I already had the pleasure of enjoying some of his works such as Machete or Deathproof. As such, it has a lot of action and style, all carried out as a mixture of classic western and eighties comic feeling, a combination that works wonderfully.
On the one hand, these types of films do not take themselves too seriously, nor do they pretend to want to carry out the action scenes in a realistic way, but that does not mean that it is a careless work, since both the staging and the soundtrack , as well as the action scenes deliver extremely well. All with tongue in cheek that reminds you that you're watching a movie, and it's not supposed to be realistic.
In conclusion, a film that keeps you on your seat with its explosive action, and although the plot is simple, it works well when all the pieces fit together. If you like action movies, you will love this movie.
Highlander (1986)
Cheesy and fun 80s flick
Highlander is an action and fantasy film published in 1986 and despite having received poor reviews at the time, over the years it has come to be considered a cult film.
The story interweaves from the Middle Ages to the 1980s, and follows the adventures of Conor Mcleod, a Scottish swordsman who, after receiving a mortal wound in battle, is discovered to be immortal, so he is banished from his village. Some time later he meets Ramirez, another Spanish immortal who trains him and explains to him about his species, and the war they wage where the last one left alive receives "the prize." The one who mortally wounded him, who is called "The Kurgar" returns to kill Conor and in his place takes Ramirez's life, Conor then decides to carry the sword of his mentor and becomes a wanderer again.
Already in the present, Conor has a pseudonym and works as an antiques owner, but his nature does not stop pursuing him, and he is stalked by other immortals who seek to obtain the prize, mainly Kurgar who is always on the prowl. So Conor must defeat him and prevent Kurgar from getting the prize. Not to mention that due to his activities he manages to attract the attention of the police, who confusedly seek to find the culprit of those killed in battle.
This film is 100% 80s style, although the plot may seem confusing, not because it is particularly complex but because it proposes many ideas in a short time. Even so, I found it to be a very entertaining film, with visual effects that hold up well over the years, although some of its comic or dramatic scenes may seem extremely outdated for these times.
It is, in itself, a film that people love and hate for the same reasons, it is cheesy, violent and over the top, so if you have no appreciation for this type of cinema you will not like it. Special mention to two things, one is the performance of Sean Connery as Ramirez and the soundtrack, mainly composed of songs by Queen, who composed the main theme of the film.
If you like eighties action, fantasy and science fiction movies like Conan, Mad Max, Robocop or Terminator, Highlander could be an excellent addition to your repertoire. Its flaws can be compensated for by the degree of entertainment it offers, by its style and by how incredibly "cool" its proposal can be. Finally, the setting is another element to highlight, from meadows and ancient castles to urban streets at night, all carried out with great taste.
I recommend that you watch it with an open mind, considering that it is a film from '86 and thus, many of its "flaws" only add to the charm of the film.
Sound of Freedom (2023)
Some people are missing the point
It must be made clear, as a film, Sound of Freedom is not perfect. If it weren't for the theme, it would be a decent movie but it would have gone unnoticed. But that doesn't matter, and never did. The point of the film is the message. More than captivating by its acting, script or artistic direction, the film seeks to make the viewer aware, connect with it's audience emotionally, in a much more personal way than any other film ever.
I generally dislike movies that have a political agenda, and I've never hidden my contempt for the wave of "wokeism" that can be seen in Disney productions for example. But for God's sake, an exception must be made. There is no more indescribable horror than the one suffered by the children the film is about, nothing that other films with their self-righteous rubbish can match.
In that sense, Sound of Freedom is perhaps the most important film of the last few decades. The team behind the film had the brilliant idea of deciding the cinema format to spread their message. People don't watch documentaries anymore, they don't read the newspaper, they don't even visit web pages. The biggest source of information they consume is social media, streaming services and movies, and the latter media have become one of the most influential for many years.
Therefore, Sound of Freedom, more than a film, is a wake-up call to all of us. Not only to be aware of the situation it poses, but to understand what the real problems in the world are, and how those who should suffer less suffer greatly. Still, miraculously the film manages to generate light from darkness. Based on the heroic actions of Tim Ballard, the film makes it clear that there are still good people who are willing to risk themselves for a noble cause, giving the viewer a small spark of hope. I am a very cold person with a heart almost made of stone, but Sound of Freedom managed to bring me to a few tears.
And it is not just about being aware of this problem, the film makes it clear that it is much more serious and that it happens much more often than we think. At the beginning of the film, footage of child thefts (which I think are real) is shown, some of them that seemed to be made in daylight, which really left me frozen.
Let's hope the film succeeds in not only raising awareness but inspiring the world to take action and unite, because it's the only way we can stand up to evil. In conclusion, Sound of Freedom is not the movie with the best script, acting or special effects, but it is certainly one of the only movies that has managed to touch my heart.
The Last Voyage of the Demeter (2023)
Flawed, but very fun
I finally saw this movie and I must say that I enjoyed it a lot. Despite having found several faults in it, I feel that it has something special, which even after having seen it has stayed in my mind, unlike other films that are quickly forgotten.
What I liked the most about the film was the gothic atmosphere, and the feeling of claustrophobia. It's an interesting take on a vampire movie, sometimes even reminding me of movies like Alien or Predator.
Still, I feel like it lacked a bit. The best part of the movie for me was the first half, when there was an aura of mystery, but after that it escalates very quickly. They could have taken the opportunity to further explore other topics, such as mental health or religion.
I must also say that it is not a very scary movie, at least not for me. Although Dracula's design seemed well done to me, it's not as scary as it could be and the movie itself didn't have many scary scenes either. Still, I don't think the film's strong point is that, but how it creates a sense of tension and dread between the characters and the audience. Then again, in the end I feel that everything was carried out very quickly, and the ending scene of the film did not fully convince me.
Nevertheless, it is one of those imperfect movies but one that I can't help but love, it certainly made a good impression on me and I hope to see horror movies like this in the future, that dare to take something familiar and give it a new approach.
My personal rating: 8/10.
Deathgasm (2015)
One of the most brutal metal movies
Deathgasm is an independent horror-comedy film from New Zealand, it had a modest budget and the directors even solicited funds from metal fans to produce the film.
Well, what is it about? The film is set in New Zealand, the main character is Brodie, a teenage metalhead who, due to family issues, has no choice but to move to a small town with his uncles and his obnoxious cousin. From the beginning, his relationship with his relatives is hard, since they come from a religious (fanatic) background and they take a dim view of Brodie's fondness for metal, not to mention that his cousin is constantly messing with him.
Brodie eventually befriends two nerdy boys in high school with whom he forms a band, and falls in love for the typical popular girl. Finally meeting Zakk, a troublesome young metalhead, he forms an unrivaled alliance with the sole mission of playing the most brutal metal in the world. However, by chance they find an ancient and cursed sheet music that, when they touch it, things get literally "diabolical".
Deathgasm is a movie that despite the budget, the effects are quite decent, some moments are very terrifying and convincing. The film fulfills all the points it tries to address well. As a comedy it is vulgar, crude, rude and politically incorrect, something that has unfortunately been lost in these times. In the same way, the film is full of quite gory and repulsive scenes, and in itself as a horror film it holds up very well, at times you can notice the influence of films like Evil Dead. However, the highlight is the representation of metal culture, and this time it is an aspect that stands out quite a bit.
Brodie is the shy, insecure type of metalhead, but at the same time finds strength in music, while Zakk, my favorite character, could well be the spitting image of the "true" metalhead with all the stereotypes that this entails.
In any case, something that stands out a lot is the soundtrack, and that is that unlike other more well-known films such as Wayne's World or Metal Lords, Deathgasm does not have songs by ultra-popular bands such as Metallica, Judas, Motley Crue but rather focuses on underground metal. It's not that the other bands are bad, far from it, but a film that seeks to represent that side of the metal scene is welcome, with Emperor being the best-known band in their repertoire using their music in an ingenious way.
Many references to metal culture are to be expected, from clichés to authentic examples of the lifestyle, even a reference to the poor quality black metal videos that caused more than one laugh on youtube. In the end, the message of the film is that of friendship and how anyone, even an outcast, can find a place in the world with people who share the same passion. Despite being based on metal, I think you don't need to be a metalhead to enjoy it, since as I mentioned as a horror movie it stands up for itself, and some moments of comedy can make everyone laugh.
In conclusion, Deathgasm proves that you can make both good independent cinema and good metal-based cinema.
Rurôni Kenshin: Meiji kenkaku romantan (2023)
Tears were coming out of my eyes
Rurouni Kenshin, or Samurai X, is one of my favorite fictional stories, not just anime/manga. The anime of the nineties totally marked my generation, it is an epic with a very deep message, historical accuracy and great action.
This remake, based on the first episode, left me with very good impressions. Everything seems to indicate that it will be a completely faithful version of the original story, which is to be appreciated since said story is perfect. The animation and voice acting in general are very well done.
There is only one negative detail that I want to comment on, to my personal taste, the opening theme is horrible! It doesn't match anything with the style of the anime, it's a shame because the openings of the classic anime were very good. I was about to lower a note of the score for that, but the truth is a rather minor detail.
I'm glad that the new generations can now enjoy and learn from Kenshin Himura's philosophy, let's hope that everything continues on the right track and that they at least end up adapting all the content of the manga.
Wayne's World (1992)
Classic rock and rollish film
For those who don't know the movie, it's a 90's comedy starring Mike Myers and it's based on sketches from Saturday's Night Live performed by the main actors themselves.
Wayne's World is about two rockers, Wayne and Gart, somewhat stereotyped but very charming, who have a modest open television program. A television producer (Benjamin) discovers the show and contacts the boys to buy the rights to the show to bring it to a wider audience, to which they agree, but eventually realize Benjamin's intentions.
The film is full of references to rock and heavy metal music, it even features the appearance of the legendary singer Alice Cooper who plays one of his hits in one scene. But in addition to that, it handles in a very intelligent way the conflict that exists between corporations and artists, especially in a matter of integrity. Although the film has in its characters many of the stereotypes of that time about rockers, the truth is that it does so in a distinguished way and is never really bigoted, you can even identify with the characters on more than one occasion. Finally, it is full of absurd humor and surreal situations.
An important detail that I would like to emphasize is that I do not recommend watching the film dubbed, since many of the jokes are not understood by the dubbing (puns for example) and humor is lost a bit. Even so, it is still a very enjoyable film with scenes that are already emblematic of comedy cinema.
My Bloody Valentine (2009)
Bloody indeed!
I don't know why this movie had such a poor reception. Well, in general slasher films are not well received, but as far as the genre is concerned it is one of the best I have seen.
I must admit that I haven't seen the original yet, and based on this movie, this is something of a sequel, but I certainly had a lot of fun watching it. The first thing I must emphasize is how brilliantly bloody it is, for a genre famous for its violence, in reality most mainstream slashers are not as bloody as you think. This is not the case, as some scenes are quite gruesome.
Another aspect to highlight compared to other slasher movies is that My Bloody Valentine has a spark of mystery, a large part of the film focuses on unmasking the murderer, or confirming that it is the same one from the murders ten years ago where the events of the first film had place. Such spark of mystery gives it a plus, similar to that of Scream movies.
To sum it up, I found My Bloody Valentine to be a very entertaining blood feast, it may not add anything new, but any slasher fan will have a great time watching it.
Punisher: War Zone (2008)
The best Punisher adaptation
For years I avoided this movie because of the bad reviews, but if I've learned anything, it's not to listen to what people or critics say anymore. Even though my username suggests that Punisher is my favorite character, I'm not an expert on him either, although I've read the 12 comic series from 2000, watched the 2006 movie and the Netflix series, so I have some knowledge of the character.
From the comic I read, I can say that Punisher: War Zone is a movie that captures the essence of the character perfectly, better than the 2006 movie and the series. It shows us a cold Frank Castle, in constant suffering for the death of his family and extremely violent, but he also has a sensitive side that he shows with his friends and those people he considers good. Without a doubt, it seems to me the best Frank Castle of all the adaptations.
The other aspect that perfectly resembles the comics is the violence, the other adaptations were cut a bit with that, and it is not the case with this movie. War Zone lives up to its name, as it is a bloodbath and perhaps the bloodiest Marvel movie.
The plot is also very similar to the comics, with a charismatic and obnoxious villain, and with a good dose of black humor. It is true that the humor can be somewhat cheesy, but I reiterate that this makes it even more similar to comics.
Overall, The Punisher: War Zone is a fest of gunshots and death, an excellent action crime flick, and a worthy adaptation of one of Marvel's most memorable characters. It is undoubtedly an extremely underrated film that deserves another chance.
Commando (1985)
Masterpiece
This is one of the best action films of all time. I mean, sure the plot is simple and the acting is not the best, but you could say the same with John Wick yet those movies are acclaimed.
As far as 80s action films it doesn't get better than this, lots of firegun at guerrilla armies and cheesy comedy. I have seen a lot of action films and I have to say that I never saw anything as over the top and violent as this, except for John Wick. Considering that 80s action films have the reputation of being over the top, few actually are, you just have to watch Escape from New York (another masterpiece) to see the difference in how more subtle is the use of action scenes.
Overall, an exciting fest of shooting and good old masculinity, if you are into action films, you will love this.
Huesera (2022)
Dull horror, worse drama
Despite some cool horror scenes, Huesera is a boring, slow-paced drama that doesn't really go anywhere, nor does it leave any sort of message.
In the film there is the subplot of the main character and her gay relationship with her best friend, which is used as an excuse that she has a second identity, but this relationship never really comes to anything relevant, and neither does her relationship with her husband to be honest. It is simply the typical dose of mandatory forced inclusion these days.
Also many of the decisions and actions of the characters (especially some very important ones) are quite questionable, not to say stupid, and it is impossible not to cringe at the protagonist every time. Not to mention that the acting, especially of the main characters, is quite mediocre. It seems that in order not to include any caucasian characters (because there are no caucasians in Mexico, of course) they chose any actor they could find.
In itself a boring movie as a drama, and dull as a horror, Huesera fails twice as much.
Evil Dead Rise (2023)
Not what I expected, but a great horror movie nevertheless
Now that I think about it, I think it is a very good horror movie. I mean, I liked it from the beginning, but I expected something different when I went to the movies.
I think I was expecting something more similar to the original trilogy, and although the film maintains the essence of the saga, it is not satisfied with imitating the previous ones, but instead proposes something original and different. For example, the gore is maximized compared to the classics, while they had gore but in this movie it almost reaches the limits set by others like Terrifier.
Another thing the film does well is maintain shock value. Many people complained that it was kind of gross (although the originals had their own) but I think that means that it does its job of horrifying and uncomfortable the audience. Also the fact that *SPOILERS AHEAD* some of the victims are just teenagers, makes it more shocking. Also the demon transformation-fusion near the end was terryfing.
However, there was not much humour this time. Oh yes, I forgot to say that the role of the mom was phenomenal. I think that while I didn't get exactly what I was looking for, I came out of the theater having seen a great horror movie.
The Mist (2007)
"For all darkness in the world stems from darkness in the heart"
I really enjoyed this movie based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. It not only shows the horror of supernatural creatures, but also the horror that we, as humans, are capable of inflicting on each other.
There are many themes that converge in the film, from otherworldly horror to religious paranoia. The movie isn't really that old, so the special effects hold up well.
In the end the whole theme of the film is both apocalyptic and pessimist, it leaves by the end a sense of dread of what could have been, and how we can be as ugly as the monsters we fear.
I haven't read the novel yet, so I can't say how faithful the movie is to its source, but I think any horror fan would like it.
Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023)
Stupid as hell idea, but it can be entertaining if you give it a chance.
There are some cases of movies in which just by seeing the poster you have a good glimpse of what you are going to watch. There's no point in me doing a synopsis, because if for some sick reason you've ever dreamed of a movie where Winnie the Pooh (yes, the bear from your childhood) goes psychotic and on a killing spree, that's just what you're going to get in this movie.
I want to clarify something, being objective this is not a good movie even remotely. As far as slashers are concerned, it is quite mediocre, although it has some brutal deaths at the end, it is overshadowed by films such as Terrifier.
So why do I give it a 7? Because the plot, although it is quite stupid, is very funny at the same time, seeing the fat bear torture and kill its victims. It's something worth seeing, even if it's just out of curiosity. The funniest thing is that the movie itself is not a comedy, it might seem like it takes itself seriously and that makes it all the more fun. Also, I must say that Piglet's squeals give the film a plus.
In short, the best way to watch this movie is to understand that it's one of those so bad it's good movies, and not take it seriously at all. If you don't find the idea of Winnie the Pooh killing people at least a bit fun, you should do well by skipping this one.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)
Stunning, must watch family movie
We live in an era in which movies and tv/streaming series constantly bombard us with fake morals, emotional blackmail and empty content that insult both the intelligence and integrity of the viewer.
This movie is not one of those. For the first time in years you can sit back and relax watching a fun family movie that doesn't try to force an obvious political agenda on you. And I say obvious, because if this Puss in Boots movie has any political intentions, at least it is oblivious instead of being bad tasteful, without sacrificing the artistic legitimacy of the creators and the entertainment of the spectators like certain films.
Instead, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is a charming, funny and captivating family movie in every word. From the fantastic and stylish animation (which in moments of action reminds me of anime series) to the numerous healthy jokes that will make children and adults laugh to tears. I reiterate the animation, the film dares to use innovative techniques that at least I have not seen in western animated films, giving the film an exotic, wacky and cool style that fits perfectly with the personality of Puss in Boots.
Moreover, something that I really liked is the representation of the cultures that inspired the film. Besides the mandatory fairy tales refferences, the film is itself a fantastic pastiche of Hispanicity, from flamenco pieces to graceful Latino accents and coloquial language, all done with impeccable taste and detail.
Finally I will say that the message of the film is beautiful. It could be said that it manages to break certain stereotypes in a convincible way and at the same time promote conservative (and universal) values, something with which everyone can identify.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is one of the best animated movies I've seen in many years, a must see for all fans of animation and good comedy. I hope that the success of this film will inspire other producers to make more movies with heart like this, movies that do not seek to victimize or blame anyone. That's right, I'm talking to you, Disney.
NieR: Automata Ver 1.1a (2023)
Amazing!
I couldn't believe what I saw in the first episode. This is one of the most faithful video game adaptations I've seen, and one that most manages to capture the essence of the game. It even has the same soundtrack.
Nier: Automata is one of the best games of the last generation and it deserved a quality anime like this. The animation is very well done, and although for someone who played the game the story doesn't feel very new, it brings a lot of nostalgia to see iconic scenes depicted in the anime.
Let's hope that the anime maintains the same quality in each chapter, since its debut has been impressive. Personally, I am very curious to see how they handle the development of the story with the multiple endings that the game had.
The Girl with All the Gifts (2016)
What a disappointment
Without a doubt this could have been a great movie, with a fresh perspective compared to the typical zombie movie. The first half is great, since it is psychologically creepy instead of resorting to mindless gore.
But from the second half, more specifically the last 30 or 40 minutes, the film takes an unexpected turn...for the worse. Without making spoilers I will say that the plot becomes very over the top and somewhat ridiculous, in addition to the performances, in particular that of the protagonist (played by the young Sennia Nanua) are somewhat laughable and do not allow to take seriously the concept that addresses this second half.
The ending deserves recognition since it cannot be said to be predictable, but the bad taste in my mouth means that I was not completely convinced. With all this, I think the film is worth a watch even if it's only for the first half, but it certainly leaves that uncomfortable feeling that it could have been different.
Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1994)
Clever Krueger
Well... what can I say, I thought it was a brilliant take on the Elm Street franchise. It kind of reminds me to Marianne by Netflix,on how a story becomes reality, and also hints of The Exorcist. It was also a surprisingly smart and thoughtful movie.
I think it was a great and bold move to take a different aproach for what was expected from the franchise, and I guess that's why it is so well regarded by fans. Also, Freddy (or the demon who uses his form anyways) taking advantage of a little child to do bad things was amazingly evil. Plus, the analogy with the Hansel and Gretel story was brilliant aswell.
Overall, one of my favorites from the franchise so far, along with the first and Dream Warriors.
Inside the Mind of a Cat (2022)
Well..
This was being a fun watch, until they started talking about the middle ages and a lady mentioned how the church which was "dominated by men" caused the hunting of cats. So yeah...it was going so well, until I forgot that I was watching Netflix in 2022, if you know what I mean.
Call me an extremist, but any sign of whining about the same old boring topics, as trivial as a small comment like that, is enough for me to stop watching. I had enough of that, it's a cat documentary for God's sake.
So because I was having a good time until I stopped when there were 20 mins left, I can't give this a good rating, even if the documentary is not actually bad.
Cabin Fever (2002)
Fun and gross
This movie was entertaining, although I feel like it wastes a lot of time on teen dramas rather than bringing horror to the screen. In itself, it tackles the hackneyed theme of youth murders in a cabin in a somewhat interesting way. Here, for most of the film, there are no demons or zombies, but the enemy is a deadly contagious disease that eats away the flesh and leaves a bloody trace.
The film has enough grotesque scenes to satisfy the most visceral hunger, and a good dose of humor, although some scenes are a bit surreal (there is a reference to a classic 70s horror movie).
In itself a good movie, perhaps not a classic or masterpiece like The Exorcist or The Evil Dead but fans of b-series horror will have a good time.
A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988)
Actually one of the best of the franchise
I just saw this movie for the first time, and frankly I don't know why it isn't rated higher by the horror community. While most of the kills weren't especially brutal, I think it has some of the most creative scenes and kills in the franchise (as far as I've seen).
Freddy is also very charismatic in this film, even funny at times, although the movie had somewhat cheesy moments, and it was not particuarly scary.
Nevertheless i had a blast watching this movie and to me it is one of the best in the franchise.
The Book of Boba Fett (2021)
Great
What's wrong with people? This show is great, maybe not as amazing as The Mandalorian but it's still pretty good.
Great story and action sequences, we get to see more of one of the franchise's most beloved characters. Morrison is doing great as Boba Fett, and the show has been fun so far.
Constantine: City of Demons (2018)
Awesome!
This movie is amazing, or as John would say, bloody amazing! I loved the tv series, but i would say that this is even better. So far, this is the best Constantine adaptation that i have watched.
The movie is pretty brutal, full of gore and amazing art direction, and it has Matt Ryan back as Constantine. I loved the movie with Keanu, but i have to say that Matt is the best Constantine.
The movie answers some questions from the tv series, and it's a non stop action fest all the way.
