Vampire in Vegas (2009)
An absolutely Amazing Film!! Truly Groundbreaking!!!
It is as if Francis Ford Coppola, Shakespeare and Andrew Lloyd Webber had a love child that became this script. The acting was flawless, and each gave what I believe to be an Oscar caliber performances. The set design was pure perfection as it really created an ambiance and tone that really drew you into the story. The musical orchestration could be described as nothing less that flawlessness as it whipped away the last few shreds of disbelief and completed your journey into becoming part of this dark fantasy. As with any good film you can really tell the absolute mastery this director had over his craft. Shaping and forming the awesome talent wielded by the actors and actresses to deliver a story, as I am certain of, that was the true vision of the writer. The originality of concept of trying to find a cure for sunlight is a truly frightening idea if they were ever able to accomplish it and serves to really keep you on the edge of your seat. I am certain that this film will be used as THE example of proper film making in generations to come. A MUST SEE!'
Superman: Doomsday (2007)
This movie was a mistake....
Well after rushing out to purchase the Superman:Doomsday DVD, upon its release, I was not pleased with what I was met with. I remember following the story line very closely waiting on every book as it came out and even after that I still purchased the novel and graphic novels to re-experience it over and over. For over a decade I have secretly waited for a SERIES of movies that featured epic story of the death and eventual return of superman. THIS IS NOT IT!!!!! The reason this movie doesn't feature Jonathon Kent or have any of the other superheroes (all vital parts to the Doomsday saga) is because this is somebodies script that didn't make the cut to live action and instead of when the move to animation came up and all the ability to do it right with the proper character involvement, they were lazy and produced this. The only part of the story they seem to get right is the brutality of Doomsday. The fight is far to short and none of the internal monologue from the comics is translated as you never see any real emotion on Superman's face. The fights finale was just poorly done. It didn't carry any of the weight of the comics. The second and third acts shouldn't have even happened in this movie. It should have ended with a cliff hanger of superman's death. They were rushed and very poorly done with the exception of the Lois/Martha conversation. The Third act of the movie well this part was just completely rewritten. The 4 supermen do not make an appearance they are replaced with a single clone. Why this was done I don't know I guess to fit this awful attempt into a 75min runtime. Maybe if we all write them they will remake it correctly. One can only hope.
