Nixon's the One (2013)
Nixon 's the One is top entertainment.
I was hooked on this show. It is so realistic, it is like being a fly on the wall in the oval office. Shearer as Nixon is masterful and the whole cast is superb. I have tried to see if it is out on DVD but it isn't. It is a shame it did not get shown on mainstream TV, SKY Arts is a great channel but how many ever watch.
Best thing from SKY since they started investing in innovative comedy. Hope it repeats the show and does a DVD. I recommend this show to anyone who finds American politics a fascinating subject. This show deserves a big audience, I hope it gets one.
How about Lyndon Johnson next.
Citizen Khan (2012)
Not original and not funny.
I thought it was terrible, what has happened at the BBC, they are churning out utter rubbish. There isn't a situation comedy on the BBC that is worth watching at the moment. I can't think of one in the recent past that was funny or even original.
I watch repeats of 'Only fools' 'Porridge' and other old BBC shows that I find a million times more funny than 'Citizen Khan' and that dreadful Ben Elton thing that I have already forgotten the name of.
On BBC2 on Sunday I watched possibly the worst sketch show the BBC have ever made, I won't bother with writing about that on here. I find myself not bothering much with the BBC, it has lost it's way. I won't bother while I can watch repeats of classics and American stuff like 'Curb your enthusiasm'.
To be fair, 'Episodes' which was Hatrick on the BBC was great.
