The foundation of an alien series is there, but the writers are concentrating their efforts on drama and feelings.
Yes, it is slow slow. I could even put up with it if something interesting happened at some point... preferably before there are only 2 episodes left.
And what's with the attitude of the 3 lead characters? Why are they such broody, bossy, angry b-holes all the time? None of the other characters act like this. It's offputting and makes them extremely unlikable.
I can only assume it's to make sure everyone knows how "strong" they are. I mean, I can't even count the number of times I've heard "are you okay?" only for them to say... literally 100% of the time... "I'm fine." One of them loses her husband... "I'm fine." Another has death all around her... "I'm fine." One could be missing an arm and have an eyeball hanging on her cheek and she would say, "I'm fine." It's like, why even ask the question? (Obviously to show how "strong" they all are.)
I'm in S02E03 and almost nothing of substance has happened, except more talk about feelings and coping. We are almost halfway through season 2 and we literally know nothing about the aliens...Why are they here? What do they want? Where did they come from?
Literally no answers.
I will decide whether or not to keep watching after episode 5.
