Canned Laughter killed this show....
26 March 2018
I really really really wanted to love this show. Camryn Manheim is a goddess and truly the only solid actor in this show. Everything else just lacks.....well.....everything! The dialogue is cheesy and much of the acting is wooden. But the canned laugh tracks are the straw that breaks the camel's back -- just horrible. They overuse the laugh tracks and even manage to misuse them in spots that should be without.

So very very very disappointed. Hopefully, the producers will see the divine Ms. Manheim and give her a show of substance.

Not worth seeing in the Theater -- wait for the DVD or HBO
25 November 2013
It was rather tedious. I loved the cast but the writing was dull and rambling. Some of the photography will actually make you seasick. There was no good reason for the shaky camera. It was very odd.

The father/son relationship was very sweet. The mother wasn't much of a part which confused me.

I was so very much looking forward to this movie and am sorely disappointed. I still watch Love Actually faithfully. I never tire of that flick. I won't be buying this DVD. However, I may watch it again on HBO from the comfort of my own home.

I would recommend waiting for it to come to TV.

Unfunny
17 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Just really unfunny! Stellar and seasoned cast but terrible "script". The acting was just really really bad. Michael Keaton was good,of course.

It seems that even the worst script cannot keep him down. Keaton obviously revived his Beetlejuice persona for this performance. He acted with style and believability.

I never thought I could see Kate Hudson in a sub par movie, but there she was in all her glory. Terrible script and truly horrible acting.

Larry David is his normal annoying bi-polar self. There's no stretch here. He is always the same. It would have been nice to see him actually "act". Larry David always comes in the same old tattered box.

Amazing Cast plus Horrible Writing = Failed Sitcom
18 September 2011
Firstly, the casting in this show is brilliant! These are truly talented actors who could pull off any show thrown their way given a good script. Unfortunately, the writers are sleeping on the job. Either they have no writing talent or no true inspiration. Given the number of amazingly talented comedy writers available to breathe much needed oxygen into this show, I would think that Enbom would want to change out writers STAT. A personal Plea to Mr. Enbom: Dear John, please hire Rick Overton, John Fugelsang or Andy Borowitz and give this show the emergency CPR it requires to stay alive! If there is no immediate drastic change, I predict this show will be off the air by it's 4th episode.

Not bad
25 March 2006
Continuity error at beginning of movie when he's at train station. He misses his initial train and stands under pouring rain getting soaking wet. When he catches the next train 20 minutes later, he's completely dry and meets Jennifer Aniston looking very suave and well-kept.

He then goes into work and there he looks damp and his hair is all tousled. The acting seems fair to good and the plot holds your attention.

Jennifer looks gorgeous as always and the screen chemistry between the two of them doesn't seem very believable. She's definitely out of his league.
