Quantum Leap: Killin' Time - June 18, 1958 (1992)
Great Episode
This is one of my favorite episodes of the series, simply because it explores more the sci-fi aspect of quantum leaping and also shows a lot of the present day. The 4th and 5th seasons of Quantum Leap, in my opinion, saw the show transform from a wholesome faith based show to more of a sci-fi show. This episode very well done and fun to watch.
When I first saw the episode I was wondering how Stiles got the gun in the waiting room, as this seemed a bit of a stretch, but on subsequent viewings I think I have the answer...
When Stiles is brandishing the gun in the waiting room, if you look in the distant background it looks like there's a person lying on floor next to the waiting room table. My guess is that there was probably a scene (scripted and maybe even filmed) where Stiles overtakes a security guard in the waiting room and grabs his gun.
It would make sense to have a security guard on hand in the waiting room at all times and it's plausible that a violent psychopath like Stiles might overcome the guard and grab his gun. I'm curious to know if there's a deleted scene where he overpowers the guard.
Quantum Leap: A Song for the Soul - April 7, 1963 (1992)
I think this episode is missing some key scenes
Sam is trying to prevent the girls from signing a contract with the sleazy night club owner and, in the end, that's exactly what they do and suddenly everybody lives happily every after? My guess is that some key scenes were cut to get it to the right length or perhaps it was supposed to be a 2 parter that got truncated down to one. Either way, it's one of the weakest episodes of Quantum Leap and makes absolutely no sense.
Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)
A late sequel that actually doesn't suck
I went into this movie a skeptic, but I have to say that they did a great job. It's a cute story that's well told. Unlike so many modern late sequels and remakes that are done solely for the money, this one feels genuine and fits right in with the other two movies. Also, let's give credit to Keanu Reeves for not feeling he was too much of a big Hollywood star to come back and do this movie. Well done!
