Crap.... Really really crap.... With a few laughs..... But crap otherwise.

Unbelievable, great cast, great cameos...... But cheesy rubbish. I get what they were trying to do, but what an unmitigated failure.

The trailer should have been played on loop for the whole 119 minutes, it wouldn't have been better, but it would at least look good.

I really think the guy who put the trailer together deserves and award, because he suck me right in, the guy is a genius....

This must have been one of those films they give an actor as part of a pay package, and the studio said, do whatever you want, really try to make a crap film.

Finally, Don't ever watch this....

Divergent (2014)

Entertaining... cant wait for next installment

Although this is a Teen movie supposedly, as a 48 year old male, i must be a teen? I found it to be entertaining, great storyline, well shot and brilliantly acted. The lead character is attractive without being impossibly beautiful so is believable in the role. The support cast are all very well chosen and performances are superb in my opinion. I thought the scenery and staging was excellent. I did see it on DVD which had deleted scenes, and these showed up some of the missing pieces of information that would have given the ending away, so I'm sort of glad they were removed. For a 2 hour film, it went pretty quickly, which means in my opinion, its good! A few edge of your seat moments, easy on the eye actors, and not too much violence....

Bring on the next installment i say!

Lucy (I) (2014)

Mmmm, worth going too, but don't have high expectations.

I love besson films, or used too, this was not one his greatest, but still worth watching. They are still worth seeing, but getting less and less amazing. No doubt still French, and cool scenery, chases and interesting story lines.

Johansen is pretty good, if not her usual self in this, even quirky, still great to watch. Freeman, well.... Amazing as always.

As the guy in the bathroom said when it finished, "I have all luc besson films on DVD! that one was his worst.". The man in the toilet felt that too much control offer writing and directing has created a monster..... Hard to argue with him this point.

Go see it though, Johansen is always worth watching!

Chef (2014)

Enjoyable, definite go see.

I like jon favreau's work, and this is a real about turn from his previous films. I like it, it was entertaining, well acted although it did have a few slightly cringe worthy moments.... These may have been purposeful... All the actors are amazing, I have no doubt a stunt double was used for the dicing scenes as id be shocked if favreau had the years of experience with a knife to pull that off... none the less, he evidently put great time and planning into this film as his labour of love. The Actors of course are without question brilliant. As always, Downey JR was sheer wonder to watch, i cant help but wonder if he is simply being himself!!!! Scarlett, well..... All her writhing around prior to being served pasta was acting genius... completely convincing and perfectly executed.... she also is a master of her craft.... whomever is with her in real life is a lucky man! Vegara was without doubt perfect for the role, hysterical, and entertaining. I loved the scenery and camera work as only a Director of this calibre can achieve. Im not sure if this is an indie film, but it certainly isn't a traditional Hollywood one I know that.

We walked out being happy to have seen it, my girlfriend even said she wanted to go straight home and cook something.... that might be cheesy, but its the sign of a story that had an influence.... cant say that about a lot of films these days.... PS. Emjay Anthony was brilliant to watch, he has a big future ahead of him.
