Casa d'appuntamento (1972)
A flawed masterpiece
While the movie has horrible editing it can be overlooked. Jumps from one scene to the next with no real cohesion. It's a heavily flawed masterpiece. Beautiful female actresses. You have to look past the flaws and take the movie as a whole.. everything you want- urban nightclub scenes and singing by Rosalba Neri, sex, killings, 1970's, lots of gory murders, creepy actors and actresses. What else can you ask for.? Loved it- seen it two or three times. If you're looking for perfection or if it's being reviewed by a film critic forget it. They would have a field day criticizing it.
I have to keep writing they're telling me a minimum of 600 characters so this guy walks into a bar he says to the goose what are you doing in the bar the goose says I have to keep writing for a minimum of 600 words.
Messiah of Evil (1974)
Top 20 of all time !
You only find great movies like this it seems from the 1970s. It reminds me a lot like Jesse Franco's "A virgin among the living dead" with all the creepy characters throughout the movie. Great scenarios... The characters are really creepy and far out. If you like horror with a lot of weird things going on this is for you ! Sorry I didn't wanna do a long review right now I have to leave....
Rituals (1977)
Very similar to "Deliverance"
Very very similar to "deliverance" which was five years earlier. It says I need 150 characters so this guy walks into a bar he says to the dock how did you cross the road. The doc dancers I have to write 10 words I'm sorry 150 words so as I keep writing I really have nothing else to say hopefully this is now 150 words let me know I'll check.
La campana del infierno (1973)
Superb
Hi. I don't have the time to write a long review. This movie has some of the best scenery and mood of any movie I've seen....a lot of the Giallo movies also have that.... i've seen it four times which is a lot for me....very weird movie which is good of course..... it "sits all by itself on the shelf" there's no other movie like it........
Chi l'ha vista morire? (1972)
One of the greatest movies of all time
One of the greatest movies of all time. I've seen it four times and I don't normally do that......
The Day of the Jackal (1973)
It was ok..PG Rating says it all.
I prefer 1970s movies over any decade. English were the leaders in rock 'n' roll but I've never been a fan of their movies outside of maybe clockwork Orange and a few others. Clockwork Orange may even be an American film I'm not sure. I don't know they're just not good at movies. My opinion only- you probably feel differently and that's great. We agree to disagree as no one is wrong as rating a movie is not a physical science and no one is correct.
Secta siniestra (1982)
Loved it
Never a dull moment. The movie shoots from scene to scene. Weird actors weird things going on. Normally when the 1980s hit (coming off the 1970s) the movies take a nose dive in my opinion. This movie still reminds me of a 1970s movie. Attractive actresses, murders, pretty good acting. My version was subtitled of course it was not a difficult read at all (I.e. Not too much dialogue to worry about). I tend to only watch a subtitled movie if it's very good as who wants to read a movie. I give it a 9 out of 10 stars. I liked it very much.
Hallucinations sadiques (1969)
I tried very hard to like this movie
I tried very hard to like this movie it has everything I normally like in a movie 1969 to 1980, European, weird, horror etc- but as it went on and on I couldn't wait for it to end there's just a lot of nothing happening... with that said I did finish the movie and it's better than most contemporary movies but it was disappointing.... also I've gotten a lot more picky with so much available in today's world. I think maybe 20 or 30 years ago I would've loved it.
10 Rillington Place (1971)
John Hurt is incredible in this movie
John Hurt is incredible in this movie that's all I wanted to say. The guy is a master at facial reactionary display. I'm not a movie reviewer and probably wouldn't do a very good job at it.
Coartada en disco rojo (1972)
Three major actors/actress come together
Fernando Rey, George Hilton and Anita Strinberg- that trio alone gives you an eight star base with two stars added on just because it's a pretty good movie. The year 1972 certainly doesn't hurt as that was an outstanding year for movies in my opinion.... Great scenery just don't know what cities they were in it's not mentioned IMDB... saw it three times....
Another Son of Sam (1977)
PG rating ?
This is more of a comment then a review but- I don't know how you could have a movie about a serial killer rated PG. PG means your 10-year-old daughter can watch it that's all I have to say. And that's really all that needs to be said. That observation is stronger than any review you could read. There are logistical problems with a serial killer movie rated PG. What is he tickling people with his gun? Are they playing duck duck goose? I don't know but ask your 10-year-old daughter as she is allowed to watch it also. After she's done playing dolls, playing hop scotch or water coloring she can tell you all about the people being bludgeoned and murdered...I guess......it's PG as is Harry Potter or Cinderella or Bugsy Malone for that matter.
Population 436 (2006)
Who cares
Who cares.. The movie loses some credibility as who would be so persistent over a silly census? Where I live they mail you a card and if you don't respond that's the end of it.. in my town they had ads out for part-time summer help for census takers so it would never get this far as doing investigation they're onto the next town. You answer the census or you don't they don't investigate anything. They're Part-time workers making minimum-wage there not investigators. The only investigation would be is where is the workers next job as the silly Census ends with one attempt per household.
Delirio caldo (1972)
One of the best !
I've seen this movie four times now and I normally don't watch a movie more than once. It's right up there with a virgin among the living dead, the case of bloody iris, and twitch of the death nerve all being in the top five movies of all time !
And Soon the Darkness (1970)
The best England has to offer in the thriller genre .
While the British will spin circles around the world for classic rock music....making movies is another story ... Let's face it they're awful at making movies. This would be in their top five ever made my opinion only you're entitled to your opinion..... No one is correct this is not a physical science...... A plus B does not equal C. Yes they did give us the Beatles the Rolling Stones Black Sabbath Donovan Led Zeppelin Moody Blues etc you can go on and on and on and on but not with movies... they're just not good at making movies this movie is an exception.....
Full Circle (1977)
See below
That is the worst method and effort I've ever seen anyone on stopping someone from choking. The guy turns the girl upside down which would only make choking worse. How could grown adults not know the Heimlich maneuver? I've often said somethings in life you will only do once one of them is choking the other is backing into a car that awful crunching sound. I remember choking on an orange when I was in fifth grade it scared the living hell out of me and I never choked again. As far as the movie goes I liked it I thought it's very good. Mia Farrow always gets hooked into these weird movies.
Revenge of the Stepford Wives (1980)
PG Rating ?
I'm sorry anytime I see a movie that's rated PG I just don't know about. Except for maybe Sherlock Holmes smarter brother, car wash and a few other movies.
Satan's Black Wedding (1976)
A 61 minute movie is a red flag right there
I don't know how they're going to develop anything in 61 minutes.
To the Devil a Daughter (1976)
Top 10 of over 5,000 movies watched
This movie is in the top 10 movies I've ever seen. I don't understand the poor ratings what's not to like about 1970s satanic horror movies they're all good. I've watched this four times it's stunningly good....
Le démon dans l'île (1983)
Exceptional
Exceptional movie and not too many subtitles to handle. But I can't for the life of me figure out how the doctor did not die of cancer by the end of the movie with all the cigarettes she smoked.
Aquella casa en las afueras (1980)
Very good
While this is a cool creepy movie with a great atmosphere the premise seems to be faulty. The premise being the main actress is severely concerned with the fact that the house she lives in was the previous location for her abortion. While that is reason for concern it is a faulty premise as who cares? It's certainly not enough cause for concern to make an entire movie about it.
American Nightmare (1983)
Very Good
I enjoyed this movie very much. Didn't have the awful 1980's style music that all so often ruins that decade's movies. A lot of good kill scenes and great City landscape visuals. Recommended.
The 'Human' Factor (1975)
Very Good movie.
I enjoyed this movie very much. Especially having Italy as the backdrop. Kept my interest throughout. It's a good gritty film what else can you say?
Love and Bullets (1979)
PG Rated
I'm sorry but a PG rated movie is almost never good except for "Sherlock Holmes smarter brother" with Gene Wilder Madeline Kahn Dom Delauise and Marty Feldman and maybe a handful of other ones.
I Start Counting (1970)
Very good but more of a drama
Very good but more of a drama Very good movie I've seen it two or three times now has it classified as a thriller it's far more drama there's not a lot of thrills going on here as it goes very slow and there are no killings that you see in action the bodies are already dead.
The Alien Dead (1980)
Comedy and horror don't go together
When I saw horror and comedy in the same description my expectations were severely tapered I don't want to be laughing if I'm trying to be scared. Comedy does not belong in horror movies. That basically means the movie is goofy and I'm not a goofy kind of guy.
