Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal (2023)
Interesting and heartbreaking
There is an ongoing trial about this family and it is shocking to see how much privilege and entitlement going on in that community. No one is safe in a setting where a group of people can get away with anything and never learn from their mistakes. It is heartbreaking to see how many lives were damaged permanently because no one could question the power of this family. You see how a generational legacy can turn into a trainwreck.
This story is far from being complete. There are still a lot of missing pieces and the time will tell how this scary movie will end. I'm wondering how things will work out for Buster.
I Care a Lot (2020)
original story with some plot holes
I found this story really creative and scary for the American people, if the legal grounds is solid which I am not sure what US system is dictating. I hated the main character so much, I wanted her to be defeated even though it meant the drug dealers would win. The ending was kind of satisfactory but I would have preferred her to be exposed rather than being killed by a relative of one of her victims. The story made more sense considering the real life injustice, but god how I wished her to rot in prison and suffer the bad deeds rather than the actual ending. Overall I think the storyline is more realistic than my expectation. One day, I hope the good guys would win. Until then, this movie has at least a better than deserved ending.
Game of Thrones: Battle of the Bastards (2016)
The least GOT kind of episode
I gave 5 points to the episode for the sake of the relieve that I felt for the first time in one of GOT episodes. It actually deserves 0. This episode has "hollywood style" scenario and that is exactly opposite of GRRM's style. If we evaluate the episode in order to its consistency of the main story, it will fail deeply. the good ones never win in GOT stories if they don't have an obvious upper hand. that was the exact case in this one and GRRM would have never ended the scene like this.
On the other hand this was exactly what all the frustrated audience (like myself) expected since the first episode. Truth to be told I enjoyed the episode very much and for the first time 9th episode of a season ended with pleasure. Still it bothers me that the story has nothing to do with original GOT way.
