The Healer (2016)
Cringey - DNF
I had so much hope from the movie.
The lead actor doesn't seem half bad.
The lead lady though...i'm not sure if it's the actress herself or the character in the film but I did not feel like she's genuine or something like that, basically she is not relatable.
I feel like the movie is poorly written (well the part that I have watched of it)
and i feel like it's also poorly casted, did not feel the supporting actors as well.
Basically it was a cringefest.
If it was a Nickelodeon Movie and marketed as that I would understand....but a netflix romcom, really? I had higher expectations.
I might not expect awards quality but at least something tolerable.
The Aeronauts (2019)
Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant!
I'm scared of heights. The fact that this movie managed to give me the heeby jeebies in most of the scenes means the filming is so convincing.
Also im so happy that they didnt mess it up too much with unnecessary scenes not needed in the story. I think the flashbacks were all needed.
Also the lines and the acting hits so well. Especially when they tried to make sense of things while theyre descending. Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones as expected are excellent.
All in all i'm so in love with this movie.
Isi & Ossi (2020)
Light and Surprisingly Entertaining
I was bored so I took the chance. I tried to watch To all the boys I loved before part 2 the other night and that was a DNF for me, maybe because there were too many unnecessary scenes that made me give up on it halfway. But this.... this was something that I needed fast paced, just right and even if the trope is a very well used trope for romance the movie still surprised me every turn. The trailer didn't reveal too much which was great, also the acting was Brill and it all felt like it was made with much love from everyone. I would definitely recommend if you wanted to watch a cheer-me-up movie.
Jojo Rabbit (2019)
A film that will stay with you for a while.
I didn't initially know what to expect from it. It definitely was a good comedy and it delivered the laughs, what was surprising how it can break your heart as well and make you feel a little bit upset that Jojo had to live in a time like that. It was definitely thought provoking and im actually happy that it was a film based on the German's side. I grew up watching WWII Hollywood Films...it's eye opening the see what war was like from the other side as well. Also it helps to have a good knowledge of World War 2, not necessary, but definitely made the punchline funnier.
The House (2017)
Yes its a 10 for me
What's not to like about this film?! I was constantly laughing all throughout and i loved all the characters. It never dragged and the movie flowed quite well. In the end everyone's happy and i'm happy as well.
Forever My Girl (2018)
Just Right
It's like reading my old romance pocketbooks but better cos im watching it instead. Everything was done quite well. The cast is amazing. The story is lovely, not too cheesy not too dramatic as well, it was just right.
