God's New Plan (1999)
Very teary,upsetting,heart tugging movie
This movie is so upsetting,You see a happy couple with everything going for them, they experience heartache and strength when their little girl is born prematurely and both mother and daughter are close to dieing but come through that. Then comes the awful blow of Katey Sagal's character Ellen begins to feel poorly so goes and gets herself checked out to find out she has cancer and slowly after treatment they find out its spread to the bone and cant do anything else. All Ellen can do is go home and spend time with her family, all the while knowing she wont see her daughter grow up so she decides that if she isn't going to be around she'd like her daughter to have a mom,so she sets it all up for her husband and the nurse who helped with her daughter to see each other when she dies, they don't want to.Its really really upsetting when Ellen dies in this,Katey does an excellent job doing that, making u feel she has.Even tho all of this sadness has happened there is a happy ending:)people should definitely watch this movie.
She Says She's Innocent (1991)
Very special movie for many reasons
This movie has lots of suspense and drama. The actors and actresses in this movie show another side of their acting capabilities,Showing the pain and hurt that can come from false accusations and also shows how it brings a mother and daughter closer together. This movie is also a little more precious for any Katey Sagal fans out there who know that in this movie she was pregnant with her baby Ruby Alexandra who was born stillborn when this movie was released in America. Overall this movie is a very good drama and even though i have it on DVD i would love for it to come on television in the UK so other people can watch it and maybe get different experiences and feelings from this movie.
Married with Children (1987)
Married....With Children is soooo awesome!!
This is the comedy that started all the others of that have followed in this way.It set a trend with networks when first started, very controversial yet really funny in the episodes. The whole cast were great in each of their characters, they all got along like a family and the chemistry that they had off-screen moved on-screen and thats why it worked.Everyone on their genuinely liked/loved each other, even tho their characters tried not to show it most of the time!hehe. An excellent show that should maybe have continued, although if it had Katey wouldn't be in 8 Simple Rules and have Ed join her in one episode, which from what I've read and seen was very funny. But overall this was a turning point in comedy programmes and set a new standard to which no-one has come close to since. Its gonna be a show that is going to be on air for years and years to come.I plan to buy every season on DVD.
Chance of a Lifetime (1998)
Excellently funny movie
Katey Sagal and John Ritter are excellent in this movie, both bounce of each other bringing the excellent script to life. They both are very funny and the way they interact and play off each others comedic experience is a joy to watch. It was great to see them back acting together in 8 Simple Rules. Its just a shame it was for such a short time as they are a really good pair. They have the same chemistry in this movie as they did in 8 Simple Rules. This movie is really good,it has suspense in there as well as comedy and romance, showing that love can come from anything, anywhere, anyone. I do wish that they had realised their feelings for each other a bit earlier on so we could see what happened for a bit of their lives, but its not so bad cos its meant to stimulate our own minds with what happens after they are together. Everyone should watch this movie if its only to see John and Katey in something before 8 Simple Rules or just to see John in a romantic comedy role or if your a fan of either John or Katey or both as i am.
Trail of Tears (1995)
emotion provoking movie
this is a really good movie.i wasn't sure about how good it was going to be after reading the comments placed here but i decided to make my own mind up as i like the other TV programmes and movies that Katey Sagal,Pam Dawber and William Russ so i went and bought the DVD and i am really glad i did now as it is awesome.it makes u think a lot about whether u actually know the person ur with, etc.Katey and Pam were brilliant as the two moms whose children had been kidnapped,u felt u experienced the ups and downs in emotions with them.the children were really good with the hard parts they had to do.definitely a must see for people like me.I'm so glad i got it and i watch it a lot of times now-i almost know all the words, hehe.
Perfect Game (2000)
Brilliant family feel good movie
This is a really good movie to watch with children or on your own when you need a smile or both. Little Cameron Finley is a really sweet little boy in this movie, you really feel for him at times when he misses. He and the other children in this movie are really good, the things they say and act are really funny at times.Patrick Duffy is really mean to the kids in this. Edward Asner is great as the kids coach, really teaching them about baseball and having fun, which is important. He has some really funny one liners aswell.Tracy Nelson is great as Kanin's mom, being really supportive and careing to all the kids on the team, she also has some good one-liners.Chelsea Parnell who plays Logan has some great one-liners in this movie!she is really a sweet little girl:)give this movie a go,you'll find it really sweet and good-its for the child in you.
Father Dowling Mysteries (1989)
Is funny and serious at the same time.
This is a really great detective show,I have watched all the other ones aswell and have found Father Dowling to be the most enjoyable to watch. It has humour,a serious side at times and shows a side to religion that many people may not have seen or known.Tom Bosley and Tracy Nelson are excellent in this, both are funny with how they act and the looks that Tom's character Father Frank gives to Tracy character Sister Steve are brilliant, makes me laugh.I also think that James Stephens is brilliant as Father Prestwick.
