Boston Legal (2004)
gotta have my legal
this is my favorite show on TV right now. i love the cast, especially the chemistry between james spader and william shatner. and i think adding candice bergen was a stroke of genius!! not to mention the periodic casting of betty white! truthfully, i haven't watched other David e. kelley shows in the past. i started watching this specifically because of bergen. but what i love is the show's quirkiness. its like just when you think you have seen everything on this show, kelley pulls another rabbit out of his hat. yes, sometimes it gets a tad preachy.
the start trek references are wonderful. last season, the references to ''tivo me'' were cute. i also like the references to their own show.
in the end, wouldn't we all like to have the same kind of friendships that alan and denny have!!
Route 66 (1960)
one word - terrific
it's funny, i was in 8th grade the last year route 66 aired and got to see a few episodes. this was because one had been filmed in daytona beach so i watched it. then i caught the rest of the last season before it went off the air.
i don't think i could fully appreciate just what a remarkable show this was. shot on location, featuring a literal who's who in Hollywood, i think maybe, this show was way ahead of its time. but it worked so well in the early 60's when quality television was quite common.
anyhow, i always said this was the ONE SHOW i wanted to see in reruns. when it aired on nick at nite in 1985, i watched more than half of the episodes and was never disappointed. mix a way cool theme song, some beautiful country, two hip guys and the corvette, how could you go wrong!!
Deadwood (2004)
David milch is god
i have read this comment many times from fellow ''NYPD Blue'' fans and now i agree.
i started watching ''Deadwood'' in season two because my beloved blue was over and i needed to get my milch fix.
first, congrats on the peabody award....a very powerful statement on the quality of this show. now, you need to win a few emmys this fall too! back to milch. the television audience knew he was special when he and stephen bochco created blue. brilliant writing, brilliant acting, brilliant direction, powerful characters and so forth. the similarities between al swearengen and andy sipowicz are uncanny. those of you who have watched both shows understand.
i love this show. i'm glad it will be back for a third season.
