Straight Into Darkness (2004)
An under rated, under appreciated unknown masterpiece.
I will not give out any spoilers. That being said I will keep this review short and brief in hopes that you will give this independent film a chance. This movie is shot from an artistic standpoint, the director is telling the story as he feels; not as he is told to make films. It's uniquely written, shot and edited. Although it is a compilation of free spirited collages of imagery, it is excellently executed. The actors, all of the actors are fantastic and give incredible performances. This says so much about the director as well as their talents, as many independent films often suffer from subpar performances. The score is dreamy and not generic as well. If you are expecting status quo war picture or another marvel movie... this isn't for you. This is a movie for cinephiles and those who appreciate art.
Voci dal profondo (1991)
Incredible Film with an awesome ending quote!
It is surprisingly how incredible of a movie this is so late in Fulci's career. It's a nightmarish cinematic masterpiece of terror. The score, acting, story, music, cinematography, pacing, it's all here and all great. Absolutely worth buying! Totally better then anything Argento has filmed within the past 30 years.
Le porte del silenzio (1991)
It's okay.
It's not unbearable, it's not great like Fulci's other works. Just a bit slow. Picture watching "Touch of Death", but with out the gore, nudity or comedy. That's this movie. It's not bad, but it's not good either. Fulci die hard fans will appreciate it.
M.D.C. - Maschera di cera (1997)
Boring Snooze Fest
The only reason I gave this film 4 stars is because of the cinematography. It's great. Other then that, the editing is trash, the acting is trash, direction is trash, and it seems that no one in the writing room was in communication with one another. The casting is awful as well. Also, it really seems that their was to many captains flying this plane, there is no clear direction. I can just picture Argento micro managing the entire time. This movie really needed Fulci sitting in the directors chair desperately.
