Chhalla Mud Ke Nahi Aya (2022)
Very poor movie technically
I wanted to like this movie and feel sorry for the team that clearly put in so much effort into the movie but it ended up failing technically.
The story of the movie is unique and although some of the scenes were great, it really lacked in direction and screenplay overall. I feel like Amrinder shouldn't have directed the film himself and should have let Ambardeep or Simarjeet direct it, like their previous collaborations. It even affected his own performance as generally his acting is pretty good but it was very average (and little bit overacting at times) in this one.
There was no justification done to so many characters in the film (including Sargun's) and the scenes just abruptly started and ended and moved onto the next one. It feels like the editing team struggled with which scenes to leave and which ones to keep and failed at successfully stitching the film.
The only two great performances were the ones of the american actress that played Bella's role and Karamjeet Anmol's. Other than those, average performances across the board.
I would still suggest to watch the movie (and support the punjabi movie industry) and hope Amrinder and team learns from its mistakes.
Teeja Punjab (2021)
Must watch!
Amberdeep has outdone himself with his writing as well as with his acting. The story, screenplay, music, everything was on point. The dialogues and characters' body language portrayed is very realistic and familiar. Overall a great movie and I would highly recommend watching it! The ending was little unfinished but that was understandable that it might have been updated later due to the developments with the farmers protest result.
