About Time (2013)
Moves me everytime
My taste has changed over the years. I am now in my 50's and reflect on my life and the changes I would have made. This movie puts my life into perspective. I would have not changed anything. It's what made me today and this movie reminds me of that. It's a very important to watch and reflect when it's finished. I think when I am on my death bed I will listen to certain music and watch this movie!!!
Mission to Mars (2000)
Need to watch again
After seeing the Martian - I see where they got their idea. The Martian is just a knock off of this!
I have no idea why this film is completely avoided by the critics. Of coarse if you get paid for your opinion then you might get taken serious. I however like to watch movies because the fill a hole in my life and transport me somewhere I have never been. This movie did exactly that. I can honestly say it even moved me at the end. Did it make me think? Yes. Was it a bit sappy? Yes. However the movie as a whole was very good. Not the greatest, but very good. If you liked The Astronaut then you will love this movie even more. I honestly think The Astronaut is a rip off from this movie. So, why is this movie hated and that The Astronaut is not? Not sure, but please watch with an open mind and you will love this movie.
The Newsroom (2012)
Over, but not forgotten
Maybe I am just coming into adulthood after my 45 years, but The Newsroom has always been food for thought. The pace, direction and writing has been excellent. I have watched and re-watched every episode over the past 3 seasons and really can't understand why they would cancel this show for the ages. First I was not a person that watched West Wing. I was younger and dumber for the show to stick. this show grabbed me from the get go and I have never been more surprised with it's greatness.
HBO - why oh why are buying into the big network belief that the public is not getting what you bring us. This show is why I subscribe to your network and seeing it leave is a shame. The past episode "Oh Shenandoah" was brilliant is so many ways. It left me thinking about my father and how we can challenge ourselves in moments of being tested. I came here to tell everyone I will watch the last episode with sadness and wish I could continue this great program going forward, but it's over. I will save these three seasons and remember every episode with fondness and hope to see these great actors, directors and writers in the future where they can continue to express themselves without worrying about ratings or money driven desires.
Thank you for 3 great seasons!
You're the Worst (2014)
Makes you come back for more
OK, I almost gave up on this show after the first couple of episodes, but I gave it a couple more chances see (House of Lies). The more and more I started finding the roles for the characters and the stories they had made me start loving this show more and more. Sure the angry attitudes that each character carried in the beginning turned me off, but when I saw that they were flawed/lost...I began to see a very touching story between two people and their friends that brings it all together. If you watch episode 3 on you will start seeing the picture and with EP9 you will see this all put together and how lost they are all together. I am of coarse watching this after EP10 which was the best so far. This episode made me want more and left me the feeling I want to know this people and where do they all go from there.
I beg that this show gets some attention from the masses and I only hope they keep this slightly crisp attitude going. The overall script and tempo is extremely well put together and the photography of LA is great. Watch this show if you like dark comedy and a slightly different love story.
