Paying for Netflix so might as well watch "Havoc." Violent corrupt cops, plenty of action, and Tom Hardy. What's not too like?
Well it is a bit ridiculous if i'm honest. There seems to be alot of unnecessary and sometimes laughable greenscreen. There is alot of action but it's very over the top and repetitive. There is a plot, but it ends up being just an excuse for a lot of carnage. Tom Hardy is his usual gruff self. But others like Forest Whitaker and Timothy Olyphant are wasted.
Having said that, if you don't take it too seriously, you'll have a laugh with "Havoc." It has a promising start until it gets bent out of shape later. Then It's definitely not boring, and doesn't shy away from being r rated which alot off movies avoid these days. Its maybe worth a one off watch with a few beers and a few friends.

Was in two minds about seeing "the Penguin lessons." I'm a fan of Steve Coogan (Who has plenty of comedy under his wing) but saw this one described as more of a drama. Plus it looked like it had mixed reviews. I ended up really liking the movie though.
There are more than enough laughs in this flick to keep comedy fans happy so it's all good. It might get a bit too heavy in the second half of the movie for some though. As its more serious side kicks in, and it'll maybe be a bit much for something you'd think would be a family film.
That just stops it from getting top marks though, as otherwise you'll have a laugh and tear up a couple of times throughout. It's a cute, heartfelt movie that you might learn a thing or 2 from too.
