Friends: The One Where Joey Moves Out (1996)
Season 2, Episode 16
6/10
Christina Pickles and Audrie J. Neenan
20 July 2007
This is too weird! I saw this episode tonight, and noticed that Mrs. Geller (the "Mom") was played by Christina Pickles. When I saw her during the show, I thought to myself that she looked (though thinner) just like the rough woman in Clint Eastwood's "Sudden Impact" (who Dirty Harry turns down by stating "Never with animals". So, I drop by IMDb and check out Christina Pickles, and search to find any movies she acted in with Clint Eastwood, and the search came up empty. Then I went to "Sudden Impact", read the plot summary, and checked out the character "Ray Parkins", and it turned out that Ray Parkins (the "rough woman" as I call her) was played by Audrie J. Neenan, who was also in this episode (as "Emily") of "Friends"!!!! Now that's WEIRD!!!!

Very Insightful and Realistic
9 January 2007
This is not, nor was it intended to be, a happy movie.

Wendy, (a great performance by Teri Garr), is a very lonely and extremely vulnerable divorced Mother of two boys. She is wooed and won by Sam, (Peter Weller), a great guy and perfect husband/father replacement. Wendy's oldest son, Jake, discovers a secret which Wendy chooses to downplay rather than jeopardize her relationship with Sam.

What should Jake do?

Not all life situations are happy situations. The script is a strong and realistic rendering of a very believable situation. For a happy movie, I recommend "Mary Poppins".

Some Genuinely Funny Parts
8 January 2006
In the first place, the only reason I will sit through any comedy is to appease my kids. I took them to the movies last week and fortunately (for me) "Cheaper By The Dozen 2" was sold out, so we saw this instead. I figured it would be less of a burden for me to endure, and I was right.

Though the movie wasn't funny throughout, there definitely were some very funny parts. I found myself laughing which is very uncommon for me. If you enjoy comedies, I believe you will appreciate this.

Because the theater was crowded, we had to sit in the third row, which was too close. There was a lot of action to follow, which was hard to do, because of our proximity to the screen.

Everything considered, I would recommend this movie to anyone who appreciates comedies.

Easily Forgettable

This is not a great film, it is far too long, and it is just about void of any great acting. If I had to choose "Best Actor" for this film, it would be Eric Bana. Really an excellent job considering the script he had to work with. Apart from that, the other actors would have been just as convincing if they were on a Greek stage holding dramatic masks to their faces. It seemed Brad Pitt was always trying to act but just couldn't jive with the character. I wanted to laugh at some parts, such as when he was "acting" angry while calling Hector out to fight. Terrible. Peter O'Toole, though once a great actor, is just too old, and I hate to say that. I sincerely believe that Brad Pitt and Peter O'Toole were recruited because the producers wanted some "big name" appeal. Shame. To set the record straight, I do not dislike Brad Pitt. I thought he was great in "Fight Club" and other films. But perhaps he should avoid the epic.
