97 Minutes (2023)
Terrorists on plane
I loved this movie and have seen it before in other movies where the undercover agent on a hi-jacked plane must save the day . The female protagonist is the typical blond Doctor who has to assume the hero role to save the day. Alec Baldwin plays his usual deputy director of something role being the bad guy that started all the nuclear bomb on board hijinks The Hero who is the undercover Interpol agent is really a terrorist who found the agents earpiece and acted like him to expose the real agent . He turns good at last moment to save the Doctor and passengers realizing he was wrong to go after Baldwin using innocent people as bait . . The drama on board and tension from mission control deciding whether to shoot down the plane is amazing.
The Bear: Brigade (2022)
Molly Ringwald
The show continues to be so real , highlighting the difficulty of running/owning a small restaurant . I wonder if they will dwell into Michael's suicide as whether restaurant related or anything else To the reviewer that said Molly Ringwald was not credited .." you need glasses because IMDB has her listed in cast credits.
Good Thief (2021)
Surprisingly a very good low budget movie
SPOILERS AHEAD
Two thieves and their recruited Driver rob a Pawn Shop of it's baseball cards not knowing " Honest Abe " is a serial killer being hunted by the Police. The acting is good, the soundtrack is good and the movie moves at a good dramatic pace . The flashlight reference throughout is about " looking for an honest person " The Shakespeare quotes are funny too. I did not suspect the twists with the Driver turning on them . Overall it's a good suspenseful movie . Does everyone throw up when they see a dead person ? LOL
ps: If you like a little gore with your weird killings, then this is for you .
Todd (2021)
Better than expected after the silly reviews read
Todd started slow and had little background to the characters making the story line less prominent until the last 5 minutes , where the movie theme was explained . The acting was pretty good by all and the filming was suspenseful, with one gore scene that was quick . Michael Winslow was just in 2 scenes as the Bartender giving advice and slipped in a couple of his sound bites he is known for ( from Police Academy movies )
Spoilers :
The story was about a patient named Todd being prescribed numerous meds by a Doctor who is also having issues with his marriage and dealing with a teenage daughter. The second storyline was a waitress that Todd bumbed into and he became enthralled with her. Her storyline was wanting to go to California to become a an Actress. Todd becomes obsessed with her ( Amy ) and breaks into her apt to watch her shower and then leaves. He eventually waits for her and in a tense scene , he pulls out a gun and forces her to dance with him in a special dress he picked out. He leaves her a love note after running out and she fails to call the Police as she believes he is " harmless " to others even with a gun. He then blames the Doctor for his depression and goes to kill the Doctor in front of his family. Again, he breaks down and leaves but goes home and shoots himself in the head.
Then the film ends it's final scenes with the waitress leaving for California ( inspired by Todd ) and the Doctor keeping Todd's ashes in his office as a reminder to love his family. And do a better job understanding his patients.
Was this a good movie? Not really, but the end result leaves you wondering about all those on medications causing more harm than good
I gave it an 8 for the acting , the gratuitous breasts in shower lol and the storyline making sense at the end.
616 Wilford Lane (2021)
Not great but entertaining
The storyline was uncanny and the characters were fun to watch LOL.
SPOILER ALERT.............
The movie opens with a dying woman saying goodbye to her husband and two gorgeous gals.....then the funeral...then the move to a gated community to escape grieving .
The usual security footage of room to room goes bye and reveals a sleepwalker getting a rifle and killing his family and then himself.
Jim and the girls , Staci & Randy move in to the mansion and start experiencing ghostly occurrences . The Sherriff gets involved to no avail. The Mayor ( Eric Roberts and his real wife ) and wife welcome them and then you don't see them until later in the film for a minute .
The girls meet boys and do the flirt & tease thing in a few scenes and then all of them experience ghostly happenings.
The last 10 minutes are just too complicated to explain after Staci sleepwalks and tries to shoot Randy until Jim returns to save the day and get the family out of the real estate deal for millions more than he paid.
The part I didn't get is why Jim was having sex with his daughter and celebrating pulling off a scam of scariness to rip off the realters of millions . Then Staci poisons Jim and Randy and drives off with all the cash . They flashback to Robin ( mother ) dying and whispering in Staci's ear to kill Jim for no given back story of a reason .
Overall, I enjoyed the movie , waiting to be scared and waiting for the gratuitus nudity that never occurred, thus making it a good security footage thriller with a HUGE twist of an ending.
Monster Hunter (2020)
Action and CGI and no plot but plenty of Milla
If you like Dune movie , If you like Tremors movies and Starship Troopers movies, then you'll want to see this . If you like Milla Jonavich, then you like this movie . If not , don't bother watching LOL
Polar (2019)
Reminds of Kingsman :)
It gets a 10 because I love John Wick killing action and the Sindi scenes :)
Reading all the other reviews will surmise the movie regarding gore and acting etc... My thoughts are the beginning with Knoxville and his erection was hilarious. The 3 or 4 major show down fight scenes were gory, yet magical in the fashion of the fight scenes in the Bar and Church in The Kingsman . I was surprised about the purpose of him and the dog, a scene that could have been eliminated . I wonder why Camille was living next door to the man who killed her family and knew him , yet did not fear him. He had no clue she was his charity which is also strange but cute. The relationship between the actors was outstanding and that Sindi was a sexy assassin each of her scenes. I could go on and on praising the acting and action scenes , so I will leave with reminding you there is a lot of blood and shooting
ps: How do you kill 25 shooters in less than ten seconds ...easy if you watch for that scene near the end :)
A.P. Bio: Katie Holmes Day (2020)
Fantastic Season (3 )
I can't even wonder how anyone can say anything bad about this episode and the entire season . The involvement of more air time for the Non Students faculty was significant . The Pregnant in real life Lyric Lewis was fantastic and funny , I could name all cast but I won't but the interaction between Jack and the class is such a bond of mischief in the making . I hope they make another season because they nailed it this time
Ted Lasso (2020)
It's a Comedy , not about Soccer Gameplay
I watched the 1st, 2nd and 3rd episodes and I can't wait for the next seven to air. Jason is a true actor/comedian and plays Ted Lasso perfectly.
I first expected a Will Farrel type bumbling fool and then realized Ted Lasso is a man of heart and soul, an inspiration to those in despair, a man that brushes off stupidity and keeps everyone around him uplifted with his " Let's go team " approach. The supporting cast fits right in to make the show enjoyable. I personally don't care for soccer but I enjoy the athleticism and skill it takes to succeed. All I want to really say is watch the show and you'll agree it is enjoyable and a breath of fresh air .
9-1-1: Lone Star (2020)
Another Ryan Murphy hit
Just like Ryan Murphy's 9-1-1 , this new series focuses on the cast and the emergencies are second in line BUT they are obscure incidents rather than your normal fire or accident .
SPOILERS :
The show begins with an Austin, Texas Fire company killed in a blast with one survivor who will eventually get back on the horse and join the newly rebuilt Station 126 .
Capt Strand ( Rob Lowe ) is a survivor of 911 in New York and rebuilt his Firehouse . He gets diagnosed with cancer and accepts an offer to rebuild Austin FD. He is divorced ( twice ) and has a gay son in his Fire Company , who accompanies him to Texas. We get introduced to his crew recruited that include his son, a transgender , a female Muslim , an O.C.D. rookie and the lone survivor of the tragedy who is married to a 911 dispatcher .. We also meet Liv Tyler as a Paramedic ( Capt ) who has a thing for Cat. Strand
The comparison to New York's disaster and effect on people is well worked into the episode.
1917 (2019)
Dunkirk & Saving Private Ryan ..Hold my beer
Like other reviews all say..This is a GREAT movie . There are a few drawn out scenes but they are necessary to keep the emotion moving in same direction .
Will Schofield and Thomas Blake have to get to the other side of the battlefield to save the battalion from a trap . Blake's brother is a Lieutenant , which is why he was selected as inspiration to make the dangerous trek .
The Oscars will most likely award Best Picture , Best Sound editing, Best Cinematography and maybe a couple of other technical awards seeing it was filmed in ONE take .
Spoilers *
Who milked the cows in the Farm scene?
When he delivered the message , there were mortar shells killing the Trench soldiers and when McKenzie signaled stand down, how did the enemy receive the same order as peace and quiet emerged immediately .

Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
Acting, Music, Set design ....Oh MY
I totally loved this movie . Tarantino has a flair for comical gore in all his films as depicted in the final scene :) The Characters were all believable , right down to the pithair on Pussycat as she tried to consume Brad Pitt LOL
The soundtrack was all music from the 60's and well placed in scenes.
Margot Robbie was Sharon Tate , better than Sharon Tate .
Brad Pitt was the real star along with Brandy, his dog .
Leonardo was very good but I didn't like the booze enraged parts he played .
Following the story was difficult but was pieced together near the ending .
I appreciated the portrayal of Hollywood in the late 60's without getting involved with the rich and famous . Did I mention the sound track? LOL
The final scene had me on edge but calmed me down when I saw the flamethrower and realized this is what Tarantino does over and over and I love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9-1-1 (2018)
Total disappointment
I watched 3 episodes and thought it would get better, but it didn't . The show follows the inside lives of 6 characters who interact in the field as dispatcher, Police Officer, Fire Lt and 2 Firemen. As people are saying in other reviews , the show needs technical advice . Since when do Firefighters wear no equipment other than slacks and a polo shirt ...since when do Police approach armed men with NO back up . Since when do Firemen attempt a rescue with One man . The 911 calls are never completely followed through , just the arrival and ending, if that. The Fireman featured is a sex addict and sleeps with whoever he connects with . The Police Officer finds out husband is Gay and deals with that each episode. Her daughter OD's and is taken by child services The dispatcher has a thing for the sex addict Firefighter but he makes her just be friends . I have never watched a First Responder TV Show so out of control as this .
Person of Interest: Super (2012)
Great Episode
Best episode yet, it really focuses on " the machine" capabilities and I like the flashback to 2005 showing the history of Finch's involvement. I can't wait to see how much Det Carter gets involved now that " she's been in the deep end " The CIA mystery continues to arouse my interest on who Reese is or was and I thought the Elias character would become more involved this season but the show continues to amaze me with the continual twists and turns and divulgance. Todays show also was a great twist having Finch be the frontman and Reese manning the computer ( both did well with each others duties LOL ) I wonder what will happen to Det Fusco now that Finch has an " ally ", we shall be looking forward to next week to see what happens
