Goodfellas (1990)

THE BEST OF THE BEST

Seriously one of my very favorite movies. It grabs you from the start and doesn't let you go until the end - at which point you want MORE, MORE, MORE. There are not many mob movies that can touch this one. Believable and absorbing.

The acting is superb. Cannot decide which performance I like better. Although I have to say Joe Pesci does steal a couple of scenes BIG TIME.

What a job by Ray Liotta - as strong as De Niro's acting is and was in this film, I think Ray did better. However, both are stellar - never losing character for a second.

Deserving of all 10 of my stars. Not many movies are! IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT.... THIS IS A MUST SEE!!!!!

Ticket to Paradise (2022)

Hard to even give this 2 stars

2 stars given as the island location was beautiful!~ but this film is not worth watching. In fact, I shut it down in the first 15 minutes. I could not watch it. It was not only flat (as another view stated), but it was BORING. Clooney and Roberts have NO CHEMISTRY together...this is no Pretty Woman where she had plenty of chemistry with Richard Gere. Too bad. I was looking forward to watching this on Prime. MY SUGGESTION: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, as YOU CAN'T GET YOUR TIME BACK! Their acting was also not even credible. What happened to these two? I thought they were better than this? Glad I didn't pay for this movie. Otherwise, I would not only be bored, but I would be PISSED OFF!!!!

Old (2021)

Waste of Time

Had really high hopes, but this just came off as stupid - not scary. And, I'm being generous with the 3 stars...love the location of the filming in a beautiful part of the Dominican Republic.

I was sad because I do like this director. Fortunately, I watch it on a platform for free. I would be sick if I had to pay for it.

Breaking Bad (2008–2013)

This is a stellar show that you should not pass up. I watched it without my wife, as she was not interested. After I finished watching it, I told her she HAD to watch it.....when she did, she beause addicted to it, too.

The entire cast is great, but CRANSTON owns this - you believe every change he goes through - no matter how small the change may be- he is a most amazing actor. He carries this series to a higher high.

My wife said she was even sad when she finished watching this series. I told her she would love it, and she surely did!

Pretty Little Liars (2010–2017)

OMG I LOVE THIS SHOW

I can't believe it took me this long to find PRETTY LITTLE LIARS. WOW. I can't stop watching it - this is an addictive show, no doubt.

I love the cast - each girl plays her character so very well. (HANNA IS MY FAVE) All are believable. And, geez the plot twists keep you on your toes, don't they???!!!! The boys are good, too...and the moms. A great deal of chemistry between the actors and actresses- which helps this series work at a very high level.

Lots of drama that you care about- lots of love, attraction, heartbreak, confusion, gossip, and a crime or two here and there!

Beginning of the 2nd Season and I just found out something I literally could NOT believe. (I won't tell you- you should go find out).

So glad I found this show- just finished watching BREAKING BAD..and, although I thoght that was a great show, too...it was so dark, ttis one is generally not "dark," but it does have some seriously heavy plot lines....it's no lightwsight, belive e.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015–2019)

NOT SORRY TO SEE IT GO

I have no idea why the show is so popular! Its star is annoying, and it is just NOT funny. Instead, it's stupid. I like Jane K., so I give it 3 stars, but SHE is the only thing good about Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

I am thinking that this is so possible because it takes place in my city? People are obssessed with the BIG APPLE...could this account for part of its popularity?

With so much good to great stuff on cable, and regular TV - why would you waste your time with this unfunny and annoying show?

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WATCHING THIS...it's just not funny. J

The Open House (2018)

Hard To Give Even 1 Star. Such Potential with NO ENDING

The ending of this movie is the worst! I would say, there really is NO ENDING.....I just knew when the car was driving down the road, we would be treated to WHY or something....NADA....just the closing credits.

It's too bad, because I liked the overall story line....made for scary stuff when you leave a house you are temporarily living in so that an OPEN HOUSE can be had.................and this house was CAVERNOUS....really huge. What could be lurking behind each door.............

AND THEN THEY BLEW IT......gratuitous violence at the end ...and no real ending or glimpse into WTF?

STAY AWAY.........NOT WORTH YOUR TIME....trust me.

Mad Dogs (I) (2015–2016)

Recommended- Keeps You on the Edge of Your Chair

I haven't seen the British version, only this one. And, I have say, I really liked it. Watched the entire season over the course of a few days. I am disappointed, to say the least, that there is going to be no 2nd season..what the heck?

Good acting, fast paced, and an excellent story line, keep you on the edge of your seat most of the time.

I have to say, however, I am really not a happy camper that they leave us hanging like this!! ast scene definitely leaves you wanting more......

Maybe they will re-think it and one day, they will give us a Season 2!

You're Next (2011)

Not Sure Why Such a Low Rating . Great movie

I liked the calmness in the beginning, and I like the twists and turns. I thought this was a great movie and I would recommend it to anyone who likes thrillers/horror.

The acting is pretty good and the scenery is cool. The story line grabs you from the very beginning. Again, I'm very surprised that people have rated it so low...deserves at least a 7.5-8. I gave it a 9 to "help" it along. I would highly recommend it to my friends and will watch it again soon.

Be careful it gets really loud and violent at times..but, hey, that's what a horror/thriller is all about, isn't it?

The Shining (1980)

Excellent Movie

First of all, allow me to say, I did not read the book. I find that people who say they have read the book seem to be disappointed in this movie..wow..for me, this movie was the opposite of being disappointing..I found this movie riveting, and outstanding. From the acting to the cinematography to the directing, this movie is a ten in my estimation. Each actor/actress makes you believe each scene...of course,one of the best scenes is when Jack Nicholson breaks down the bathroom door with an ax, and put is face in the hole in the broken door saying "heeeeeere's Johnny".....it's a great scene because of the build up. You can cut through the tense as it rises within the Overlook. Great acting, great directing, great scenery, great story. I highly recommend this movie. I would put it in my top 50, for sure!

Bye Bye Birdie (1963)

Love this Classic

The reason this movie works is simple: everyone in it cast to perfection. And, the characters blend well together. It's entertaining without having to be violent, or have overt sexual content. I enjoyed the music here, too. BUT THE VERY BEST PART OF THIS MOVIE IS UNDOUBTEDLY MISS ANN MARGRET. She is quite a beauty, and she is HOTT! Overall, I highly recommend this movie to anyone who wishes some fun entertainment. This is the way they USED to make movies. It's not dark, it's not complex-- it is cute, it is sweet, and it IS ENTERTAINING. The weakest link is Bobby Rydell, but he does OK for himself. It's just a little be unfathomable that a hottie like AM would fall so hard for him. LOL.
