Objectively, this show is excellent, I don't understand why it isn't rated higher. I guess it's coming out late, when a lot of stories like this have been told, but keeping in mind the original material is from the 50s, that gives it some credit on that matter.
If you know the show's background, I don't see how anyone can be disappointed in terms of how's been adapted. It has a few tweaks to make it work in modern times, but it's still very faithful to the original work, and it's fun to see the close similarities.
As a show, not knowing anything about it, I don't see much that could be criticized.
Acting, cinematography, production value, everything is to the highest standard.
I've seen criticism in terms of pace, I wasn't bored for a second.
I've even read comments on bad CGI, that's the most ridiculous one, to be honest. Watching the two "behind the cameras" clips on Netflix after the 6 episodes, I was very impressed on the technology used, most of the city recreated by CGI, I never noticed. All the CGI use was PERFECT, very realistic and well blended with the footage.
Problems with the dialogs? I guess there could be some cultural barrier for people who won't appreciate other than their own, which is really a shame and not the show's fault.
It makes me very happy to know there's a second season confirmed and I'm very hopeful that with this show Argentinian film opens more to Sci-Fi productions and we see more not only of this show, but others!
I firmly believe this show has started something good to come from Argentina, which is a country with lots of great filmmakers.
Highly recommended show!

In short, it's a very good looking, mediocre story with a very annoying collection of uninteresting characters.
This movie looks really good, it can be really creepy visually, when they show you the monkey staring at the camera from the darkness or that shine in the eyes.. that's pretty well done.. The other fun thing about the movie is the deaths, there are plenty and they're very gory, over the top, and if you're watching the film, the trailer told you how it's going to be, so you shouldn't be surprised or disappointed about the unrealistic body reactions, because that's what you've been sold.
The problem with this movie is the story, the characters and the pace. They're pretty terrible!
I struggled first with the characters, they're very unlikeable, everyone seems to be a bully when Hal (the main protagonist) is a kid, it's HIGHLY annoying and it builds up to absolutely nothing, because he never defends himself, he never evolves and the story doesn't connect to that. It's just that and for some reason the director/writer wanted to have a bunch o idiot bullies as characters throughout the movie. Not interesting.
The main characters, again, have very weak (in terms of writing) motivations and they act very stupidly through the film, with no redeeming actions at any point.
The story is very bland, and it's very poorly paced, I was getting distracted every 5 minutes, and that's because the movie wouldn't grip me at any point. Just the gory kills is not enough to keep my attention, it's like dull action.
The performances aren't great, the main actor can definitely portrait the twins very differently, but it feels off. It's very probably because I disliked the two characters so much, and not because of the performance itself.
The ending is kind of cool, well over the top and I found it very interesting, but also a bit rushed and wasted fun opportunity.
In the end, if you only want to see goofy gore, give it a go, but don't expect a good story or interesting characters.

In general, I found this film entertaining. Specially because of Elliott Gould's performance. His character is fun and cool, he mumbles comments all the time, lives in an untidy flat and is quite a nice guy in general, but relentless when it comes to do his job, find the truth and bring justice.
The first 10 minutes of movie are him going to buy food for his cat. You might think that's boring, but it's probably one of the funniest parts of the film.
If it wasn't for the main character, I'd have rated this movie lower.
I found the story convoluted and messy, with unnecessary characters jumping in and out in a clunky way, and a slightly confusing developments of events.. In the end, the twist was more like an "oh, ok" situation than something surprising.
In general, I felt it's more about a vibe kind of movie, but the "complexity" of the story and amount of characters played against the enjoyment of the film.
Some (not IMDB, though) call this Noir, or Neo Noir, I wouldn't do so. It has some elements but it's definitely not what you want to go in the mood of a Noir film.
By the way, the posted is quite false advertising, and be careful with the trailer if you haven't seen the film, since it can give away scenes from the ending.
Overall, it's a good film, but it left me with a sense of confusion about the story when there wasn't need for complexity.
