Naruto (2002)
Better than what I expected!
When I first watched this anime, I expected it to be a typical child's "The power of love and friendship" anime, like Fairy Tail. But it actually has a powerful meaning to it, and the show itself is unironically great. One thing i will complain about, which is why this show doesn't get a ten, it's painfully slow-moving. It takes at least 2 or 3 episodes to get to the damn point, and the fillers are god awful. This show does rely on character tropes a lot too, like Sakura. Your typical nice, pretty girl who the protagonist has a crush on, who hates him, and loves the "popular bad boy" Sasuke at school, who everyone also loves. I'll let it slide, because both have good character development, but in totally opposite directions. Sasuke takes the breaking bad route, going from the noble Shinobu everyone knows him as, to working for the main antagonist and even going up against his own friends. I love it.
Trolls (2016)
Good for a childrens movie
I'm pretty sure this film is directed at kids, but because I'm a stubborn adult who watches movies for a living, I had to rate it. Happy go lucky troll Poppy and her grumpy old sidekick Branch get captured by some creatures called the Bergens and the Bergens try to eat them. And how do they escape? That's right, singing. Because that is the most common and practical way to escape any dire situation. But then again, it's a kids movie. What are ya gonna do? Anyway, the whole plot is that dancing and singing are the best way to get you out of anything, and there is obviously no meaning behind this film. There are some good moments. Like with Bridgette, the good Bergen, who helps the trolls escape, by sneaking the trolls out through her rainbow hair. Oh, and I also forgot to mention. This film is heavily focused on hair. Hair. Hair everywhere. You know those troll dolls from the 80s-90s? Yeah. That's them, but colorful.
Five Nights at Freddy's (2014)
Great idea, mediocre execution.
I will add one extra star to this review just because it has shiny graphics. I mean, don't get me wrong. I like FNaF just as much as the next person, but come on. The game play is mediocre at best, and I wasn't really left wanting more. The only thing that excites me the most about the game is the jumpscares. They are clever and can sneak up on you at times. And the appearance of Golden Freddy who sometimes crashes your game, I will admit, is the perfect jumpscare for an unsuspecting player. But it's pretty rare, so fat chance you'll see it. Along with other easter eggs. I've gotten a few, and their pretty neat. I will give this game one thing, it's got some charm. Okay game play and predictable storyline aside, it's got charm. I'm not gonna be TOO harsh on the storyline, though. I was on the edge of my seat at some moments, but on others, the story was laughable. And not to mention, difficult to follow. I mean, come on. Purple serial killer man kills people and makes them into robots?
If you're a fan of your typical horror Hollywood film, download this game. If you're not, then don't.
The Walten Files (2020)
Amazing, very few critiques
My critiques for this series are very few. The story is easy to follow, the art style is true to the theme of the series, which adds to the creep factor, the lore is my god, SO GOOD, and it does require a bit of thought to process some things shown. For something that was originally a fan game of FNaF, it's actually really good. But positive things aside, I will get into my very few critiques. (This is not a complaint but I will say the series is very gory and there is LOTS of body horror, real screaming, distorted faces, eye contact, and realistic animation.* The story can drag on at times, but is overall easy to follow. There are times where you are left at a point where you have no idea what is happening. The story is a bit too inspired by FNaf, but I'll let it slide because they put an amazing twist on it. I enjoyed the extra videos they hid inside, but I wish there was more. That's it. Enjoy the series. Peace.
