Crown Court
Kevin's father gives evidence, giving his opinion that Kevin isn't as bad as his mother makes out, but that he is simply overly loved by her. Psychologist Doctor Wright gives evidence, staying that Kevin has cross lateral thinking, meaning that no side of his brain is dominant, she also explains that Kevin has no inclination for violence. The Jury decide.
It's a thought provoking final episode, it's very different, the series primarily looked at guilty or not guilty, black and white storylines, this one seems to go a lot deeper, it's a cleverly written scenario.
It's very interesting, I can't think of too many shows from my childhood, the 1980's, where mental health issues were often talked about, definitely a taboo subject for quite a few years to come.
Doctor Wright's evidence was fascinating, I have genuinely never heard of cross lateral brain or movement prior to seeing this, very interesting. She's got something of a sarcastic nature too, nice.
Every random episode I seem to watch features Norman Jones, he definitely appeared in quite a few of them.
8/10.

Crown Court
Kevin Owen gives his evidence, Mr Corry details Kevin's early life, detailing that his client was home schooled and had a particularly sheltered childhood. Mr Corry presents a boy, who's timid and obsessed with TV crime dramas. Mrs Hunter describes an angry young man, strangled by his mother's apron strings. Kevin's mother describes why she home schooled him.
A pretty unusual episode, one that leaves you not knowing what on Earth happened, they're going more for personality and character than anything else.
It's interesting, are they attempting to present Kevin as autistic perhaps, is that the reason why his mother desperately tried to keep him away from the outside world? That word his mum uses at the end, it's detestable.
The announcer makes a boob at the start, introducing Mrs Jean Stone. There's one very amusing shot, where it appears that Mr Maitland seems to have his arm around PC Lawrence, it's a very relaxed stand.

Kevin Owen is on trial for GBH, it is alleged that he followed and mugged elderly lady Avril Stone, who was coshed with a lead pipe.
Hugo Maitland gives evidence, he witnessed Avril running and being followed by the defendant. PC Lawrence nervously gives evidence, before Avril details the events of the mugging.
It's pretty good, growing up the local news and general discussion was always mentioning muggers, old ladies set upon by terrible youths, do they just call it something else now? It definitely still happens.
It's a good first episode, an interesting storyline, Hilary Mason was well cast, she's definitely a little vinegary, will they believe Avril's story? I'm not sure.
Once again it's a surprise to see so many familiar faces, the legals played by Mark Eden and Rosalie Crutchley, two cracking actors. Teniel Evans, somewhat quiet as The Judge.
I did like the way that Maitland challenged Mr Corry, basically accusing him of living a life detached from reality, the same applies now with Judges making all kinds of ludicrous decisions.
The days of CB radio, fantastic, I can remember as a young kid chatting with people at my then best mate's house, unbelievable to think of it now.
