Mother's Day (2018 TV Movie)
10/10
Emotional Excellent
5 September 2022
An emotional TV movie based on the true story of one woman's courage to actually voice her opinion and stand up for peace in such a horrible violent situation. Obviously there are always going to be the older generation too stuck in their ways to change and they remain bitter and full of hate. You'll never change those kinds of people in any conflict sadly. You can feel for both sides of this terrible pointless conflict -Noone deserved to die.

Just goes to show how just one person can start a chain reaction that forever changes history.

Amazing that the family that lost their son came together with the Irish family and they remained friends. So so sad that so many children were killed, tragic. The movie has an excellent cast and their performances were very moving. Well worth watching. ......

Redemption (I) (2022)

Pretty good series. Only giving 8 because of Paula!

Enjoyed this series but it's not in the league as Happy Vally or Vera. Paula Malcomson was excellent in this, wouldn't have worked without her as the lead detective as she has a real onscreen presence, she's so naturally beautiful, sweet but tough. She plays the role of a successful detective who is also a mother estranged from her daughter who has just met her teen grandkids for the first time. Getting to know them while solving crimes and looking into the death of her daughter. Interesting story line, particularly with showing the reality of motherhood and how imperfect mums can be. Some of the supporting cast were very good such as the two teen actors that played collettes grandkids however the actors that played her workmates had weaker roles or maybe it was just weak scripts? In particular the actress who played her Boss, what a very boring actress and the two lead detectives that worked in the drug dept. Those 3 actors had zero spark. The two actors that played her main colleagues - the young girl and the bloke she drank with had bit more charisma. I think the script / storyline built up well but sort of fizzled out. Although the ending came together nicely- bit soppy. I watched this on Britbox. The UK has so many good crime dramas.

Heartbreaking

Gut wrenching story and the series was very well done. Fantastic actors that would have found this one very difficult. The USA is not the greatest country on earth with gun violence , racism and terrible healthcare. Every level of govt failed Katrina victims. Life care patients should not have been left behind, they had boats and helicopters and every doctor and nurse should have made sure every patient got out! Being unable to walk being a black man and too fat like Emmett did not mean his life was any less precious- ask his wife! His kids should get justice. As much as the doctors were under stress and in inhumane conditions they lost their moral compass at the end - FIRST DO NO HARM. I'm appalled the doctor was NOT prosecuted. She failed some of those patients she chose to kill because she got out. That's the take away. SHE AND THE NURSES GOT OUT. All they had to do was fight for the patients, put them in wheelchairs anything. Look at the other bigger patient that was rescued - due to sheer Will from those doctors and nurses. They shouldn't be practising medicine. I feel utterly heartbroken for those life care patients.

Really enjoyed this. Love these 4 part series you can binge. Interesting story line that keeps you guessing with a twist at the end you don't see coming.

Secrets among families always destroys you in the end.

Love Me (I) (2021– )

Great series

Warning: Spoilers
Really enjoyed this. Want more seasons!! Well written, terrific actors. Funny, warm and realistic portrayal of the complicated and often dysfunctional relationships a family can have.

Even though seeing and talking to a recently deceased loved one has been done before I liked how she kept popping up, whether it was her ghost or just his guilty conscience. At first I thought it was very unrealistic that someone could fall in love again so quickly especially after portraying how much he loved and cared for his wife but as I watched more episodes his grieving process made more sense.

Great series

I enjoyed this series. Great cast - they worked so well together. I love how diverse the characters were, younger, older, different ethnic backgrounds, single, married, well off, struggling...but they all had one thing in common that brought them all together despite their differences- parenthood. I love how they bonded and supported each other through out the bad times. Made me wish I was part of this group of friends..even if it's not real life!!

I'm an Australian but I grew up watching this. Brilliant and funny. Two very clever actors..Loved it so much..There are so many fantastic actors and tv series to come out of the UK. I'd love to get the dvds and watch the two Ronnie's all over again. Not sure if my kids would get the humour but!! Lol..
