Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021)
Dave Chappelle: A master in the art of speech
Dave Chappelle you are able to maneuver thru politics, cultures, ethnicity, History, common sense, and humanity like a warrior who stands strong for principles, values, and morals. Please don't stop your specials on netflix because you are able to speak the language of the ppl.. and ppl need a slap of truthfulness every now and then with all the ambiguity that is dawning on humans.
I Am Not Okay with This (2020)
@Netflix: Seriously??U cancel such a show??
OMG how could u cancel such a show with such amazing potential!! If u thought there was not enough audience for it then its ur fault u didnt market it properly...
Im trying to pick a closure for it honestly that its just a prequel to Carrie which is already frustrating bec Carrie ALREADY has a storyline to its breaking point!! Fix it Netflix.. get the show back to a season two or make a movie.. Man u guys know how to keep ppl on cliffhangers!!SMH..
The Guilty (2021)
Jake Gyllenhaal is the Movie
Regardless whether its a remake of the danish version, Jake Gyllenhaal is a gem to watch. Such movies that focus on one character and zooms in on every move, gesture, reaction should be evaluated differently bec they either show u true acting or rubbish wanna-be's. Hats down to Jake!!
Midnight Mass (2021)
This horror was meant for the inner intentions
One might think when starting this limited series he will have the usual scares of ghosts n demons esp that Mike flanagan is a master in portraying horror onscreen just as Stephen King works his horror magic on paper and leaves u to ur imagination while reading.
This is horror to the soul and the absolute identification of each person's "inner demons" and "inner intentions" that count in living and in dying..Religion is a mighty tool that if put in the hands of the wrong ppl would most definitely reek havoc on the rest of mankind whichever the religion is.
Great show brewed onto 7 episodes with equal doses. Can't be shortened and can't be lengthened. Just the perfect dose.
Venom (2018)
Tom Hardy... Venom suits you!
I saw a lot of comments saying its predictable..Predicable? Well of course its Venom.. based on comics!!
Its one of Marvel's marvelous characters..and Tom Hardy wore Venom symbiotically and with such ease..
Futmalls (2020)
Taiwan's version of Black Mirror
For those who are fans of black mirror this series is a good ride. The plot is intriguing and I'm looking forward to season 2. Only 1 thing, though, the music. It should play better with the change of events.
Congrats Taiwan!
Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (2016)
Netflix get the show to a season 3
Netlfix must take a shot at this series for a season 3....
"Everything is connected".
Never read the books.. now i'm excited to do so.
Weird unplug from reality yet so connected to it.
Ji hun (2021)
Spectacular!
This movie is on my top 5 list of best movies in 2021. The sound score, cinematography, scenery, acting, script, storyline.. it aced it.. Don't worry about its length.. you will not feel the time passing. You will stay engaged till the last shot! It will not let you down with all its unexpected twists and turn of events.
Pet Sematary (2019)
Read it! Do NOT watch it!
The 4 stars are for Lithgow who is the only good thing in this movie. The adaptation of the Great Stephen King's scariest book (he said it scared him alot) is an utter joke here. I couldn't sleep for several nights when i first read it yrs ago. Being a huge fan of King's books and work, this movie did not match up to the book by miles and miles in my opinion.
Dad Stop Embarrassing Me (2021)
Good start! Light and Funny👍
Congrats Jamie Foxx and Jim Patterson.✌
The pilot episode was a bit off, but they really picked it up from the 2nd episode onwards. I enjoyed it because its light, funny, and approachable to social matters that happen in real life and to real ppl with a zest of comedy.
Hoping to see a season 2. And please do not compare it to other sitcoms because each should stand on its own with its own storyline.
Gokushufudo (2021)
Season 2 is a must ASAP
Hilarious, enjoyable, unlike any other anime. Its done in a way where its like ur reading a manga, yet with sound effects...awwesome!
Death to 2020 (2020)
Spot on!👍
The last narrative in the movie is the black mirror insight you get once you hear it...
In a nutshell, the movie is provocative, straight forward, blunt.. i don't think its meant to make us laugh, and if we laugh while watching we must remember we should be laughing at ourselves for being either too clueless, or completely misinformed.
Blue Iguana (2018)
Whoever watched Snatch in 2000 will love this one!
Fresh in the sense of humour, light story with no holes in it, funny nerdy when it comes to sam Rockwell who gave the movie an upgrade along with all the British sqwirks and jokes. Whoever watched snatch back in 2000 will love this movie!
Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (2020)
Mr. Magorium meets Wall-E in Neverland
The magic of wit and creativity that this movie portrays is very well executed. Adding to it the mix of dance and glam and colors in all its corners puts you in the christmas vibe. However i couldn't stop seeing Magorium's magic store, Wall-E's voice and shape, and the trip to Neverland with PeterPan and Wendy.
Mashing all those themes up in the movie removed the dazzle that we were supposed to have on Journey's inherited creativity and wit. Several short and loose ends that needed more focus.
All in all its a great movie to watch...in the holiday season..
Frontera Verde (2019)
Mesmerizing scenery, beautiful storyline, confusing ending
The fact that the Amazon jungle (the lung of the earth) has had the chance to shed light on in the most fascinating way, itemphasize on how crucial it is to support every effort that serves preserving such beauty and majesty!
The essence of the storyline draws you in thru every vine in that jungle and makes you want to protect this heavenly place.
The ending, however, and esp the last 3 min, should have been extended and not kept that wide open to numerous speculations, instead, its ought to be given a proper closure regardless of how happy or sad might the ending be.
His House (2020)
When paranormal from various cultures is spotlit and shown
Putting aside any political/internationally flagged zones portrayed in this movie, "His House" has met its genre with excellent execution. Talent, performance, storyline, climax, even the duration has been in perfect order that would keep u engaged till the last shot.
Such movies as this one are truly of great added value to the genre and to the audience who crave for legit scares without gushy and bloody scenes.
Us (2019)
A lot has been chewed on
And if it weren't ONLY for Lupita's great acting neither would i rate it a 6 nor would i continue watching the movie till the end.
Great music esp the intro.
Masameer: The Movie (2020)
A sad reality with a pinch of humor
If you want to watch this movie, u have to get some education on the region it represents. I believe the creator of Masameer snapped some major issues in the society and tackled them with some humor to be taken lightly by the audience.. and reflect on them.
It (2017)
Love & hate story since my teens
Watched the first version of IT in my teens after reading the book.. it made me hate clowns... Now after watching the new version trying to face the fear of clowns, and other things (no intentions of giving away spoilers), it's simply stamped it for life..i will always hate clowns.. and i will never stop reading or watching movies for Stephen King, the sole best contributer to the Horror/Thriller genres..
Rebecca (2020)
Reading Rebecca is far better than watching Rebecca
The storyline in the book was rich with how each character identified its existance.Very few almost to rare depictions of main punchlines within the book in the movie. I enjoyed reading and letting my imagination create the scenes more than watching them..
Paranormal (2020)
My Wishful thinking: "It's Official another season is coming"
The fact that I have just watched, in one seating, stories that i have read and loved, I am very thankful that those stories have been touched by movie-making angels. I hope it gets renewed for a new season, and i hope that this series encourages people to actually read the books of the amazing writer Ahmad Khaled Tawfik.
