Dune: Part Two (2024)
Just Amazing
Altough the running time is almost 3 hours, I wish it was longer!! That should tell you enough. I really liked the first part but not as much because it was slower and not much really happened, was more like an introduction. But this second part is just a masterpiece! Definitely a must watch in a movie theater, it is very cinematographic, the acting is impeccable and the soundtrack fits perfectly. Wasn't really sure about the addition of Austin Butler and Florence Pugh to the cast, but they fit perfectly. Overall it was Just amazing, 1000/10, deserves all the Oscars it will probably get. Can't wait for the next part, I hope this series with this director and cast will never end, IT IS THAT GOOD!
Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes (2022)
Not great not terrible
Didnt't help that the series with Evan Peters came out first and it was brilliant.
If you are familiar to the case this documentary really doesn't bring anything new to the table. I don't think the world needed another documentary about this since there are plenty well made. The recordings of Dahmer's confession can be wrapped in 10 mins max so in my opinion "the Jeffrey Dahmer's tapes" title is a little bit misleading, you can directly watch his 2 interviews on youtube (30 mins each) where you get all the story told by the man himself. Didn't give much attention to the victims either so really pointless.
Pieces of Her (2022)
Interesting plot but dumb characters
Andy's characters is so dumb its painful to watch. I dont know if that was the intention but her dumbness is on another level. The plot is interesting but I think the writers should have done a better job at shaping the characters.
The Batman (2022)
Details
I loved the soundtrack, the way they presented the Batman at the beginning, his speech, everything was sooo good and well thought! I hope if they make a sequel, they will include Joaquin Phoenix's Joker.
The Witcher (2019)
Too rushed...
I really liked the first season and I was looking forward to the second one. Since the wait was a bit too long between the 2 seasons, I almost forgot everything that happened. I thought about rewatching season 1 before starting season 2 but the episodes are 1-hour long and I didn't have the patience to rewatch something I have already seen. Fortunately, they had a season 1 recap and I was able to remember almost everything.
Season 2 is a chaos, I don't understand the choice to make an 8-episode series with 1-hour long episodes in which so many things happen, so many characters presented but with no purpose for the show. Since its so fast-paced, you can't even get to understand what's happening in a scene because a new character with a new plot appears out of nowhere, only to be forgot for a few episodes. Almost every episode of season 2 I was asking myself: who is this? Is this from season1? What is happening, what is the reason for this action? And so on...I think this genre of series needs at least a 15-20 episodes per season in order for it to be more slow paced and the action to be more organized. What's the point in making a relatively good show, with great cast, if people can't keep up and after a few days after its over, everyone forgets about it?
Memories of a Murderer: The Nilsen Tapes (2021)
Meh...
A single word could describe this "documentary" : CHAOS! The storyline was chaotic and if someone doesn't know Nielsen's story already, they wouldn't understand a thing. How about some backstory on the murderer? Motifs? The whole investigation in detail? Some chronological order of the facts? What happened after the trial? How he decided to record himself? Etc etc...
The only good thing about this documentary are the tapes. Insted of making 1h30 bad show with a lot of missing information why not taking it slower and make it a series? Considering they had hours long of recorded tapes, they could have made a really cool show with multiple episodes where Nielsen is the narrator and we see the story from his side.
The Sons of Sam: A Descent Into Darkness (2021)
Too short....
I understand this documentary wasn't about Berkowitz and the case around him but I think they tried to make a "long story too short" I mean...in 4 episodes you can't present a story too well for the public to fully understand it and assimilate all that information. I think the series needed at least 8 episodes, with much more details. If you're gonna do something at least make it right!
Overall it was ok, sometimes even scary!
Bridgerton (2020)
Just weird...
I started watching this after all the popularity it was given on the internet. First episode: I seriously wanted to abandon after 10 minutes but then I decided to give it a chance.
The characters are overacting, the fake english accent of some actors is unbearable. The "gossip girl" of the 1800s is just weird, I would have preferred if there was no narrator.
The show simply portrais shallow, empty and superficial values...I think it would have been more interesting if Eloise was the main character and so the show would have portaited an ambitious girl in the 1800s who just wanted more in life than "a husband to marry, a family and children". Just ugh!!
The Princess Switch: Switched Again (2020)
Meh...
Enjoyable but some scenes are really dumb and cringe. Also, the costumes are terrible, I mean...a future queen at the ball, in winter, wearing a flower tulle dress? Looks so cheap and definitely not royal-like
Hillbilly Elegy (2020)
Only 6.6/10????
This movie was amazing, very touching, with good actors who played the main roles and with a good plot. Oscar worthy!!
La vita davanti a sé (2020)
Amazing but something missing...
Amazing story and acting, but I think the background stories of the main characters was totally missing. I would have loved to see some more details...
Operation Christmas Drop (2020)
Boring
The story background is interesting but the movie was sooo boring, no action at all and all the scenes and the ending were so predictable.
Space Force (2020)
I love it
I love this show, so funny and there couldn't be another actor rather than Steve Carell to play the main character!
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018)
Season 1&2 great but...
After watching season 1 and 2 I thought it was a great show, interesting plot and original story but season 3 it's just a mess, some scenes are so cringe and so bad written it hurts!
Riverdale (2017)
The first 2 seasons were great but then...
Don't even bother with season 4, it's the most sad downhill of a tv show I've ever seen. The whole plot doesn't make any sense and after episode 14 it's just a massive WHAT THE HELL.
To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You (2020)
Typical teen romance movie but...
I don't have a problem with the storyline, I think it's just another teen romance movie that can be enjoyable if you're bored or if you're with your friends and can't find anything better to watch...but the video editing is HORRIBLE, I mean, after 10 minutes my eyes started to hurt from all that image filters, I had to change my tv image settings in order to not become blind after the movie! Basically it seemed like the video went through all the instagram filters at once!
Jane the Virgin (2014)
I loved the first 2 and a half seasons but with season 3...
Don't even bother watch more than 6-7 episodes of season 3. I loved the show until season 3, I was super excited to find a show to watch every night but with Michael's death I feel like I've lost my time. Who takes care of all the characters life details for 3 seasons, all the character developpment and then decides to kill one of the main characters OUT OF THE BLUE and then skip the story to 3 years?? After that, I felt like I was watching a whole new show. I mean, that doesn't make ANY SENSE, so don't even bother watching after Michael's death, just pretend the show finishes like that and Jane goes on with her widow life.
13 Reasons Why (2017)
The first 2 seasons were good but the 3rd...
This last season of the show is really difficult to follow, at the end of the episode I almost enjoy that it finishes because the action really makes me tired. Too many useless flashbacks, the story should have had a cronological developpment starting from last episode of season 2. Last thing: who is Ani and why is she an "important" character? I find her presence to the show just meaningless, just to have a voice who narrates the story and make it even more annoying to watch.
