Whatever It Takes (2023 TV Movie)

I loved this, stroke a chord of realism
15 January 2024
I enjoyed this movie and even my no-loving hub thinking this was going to be a hallmark movie was loving it and laughing all the way to the end! The actresses and Kandy just outdid themselves and the guys were so good. I hope it's a part 2 to this one. I can see a sequel! So watch it for yourself I was feeling my emotions with a tear or two. I might mention that whoever casted the actors in this did a superb job. They all played their roles well and were cast perfectly. It's worth a look at love, forgiveness & redemption while keeping a comical and thoughtful theme. I hope we see them again! Give it a shot!

A Beautiful Life (I) (2023)

Don't see the negatives with this one
17 June 2023
I truly enjoyed this movie and I am glad that I did not look up Elliott until after the movie. I did not know that he's an actual singer/songwriter and that for me made it a MAJOR plus! When I saw the credits and just saw his name using just his first I knew he was the real deal and man can he sing! Unlike the negative reviews here, I watched a believable movie of a hesitant lost soul trying to navigate an injured past and if anything the parallel was drawn between an unfortunate soul with no trappings (him) to a unfortunate soul with all the trappings (her) hence the love story that developed believably & nicely, so what a slow pace? Any faster would have been not natural as the pace the movie was taking to develop the character & narrative. It was paced with just life as we know it, nothing glitzy or glamorous but real. Amazing, but interesting how many can watch the same movie with such diverse takeaways, but for me, I loved it, became a fan of Christopher, what a voice and a singing talent. It is relatable and simplistic with realistic life complexities. Worth a watch for sure!

A Holiday Spectacular (2022 TV Movie)

Keeping with the times would have been best.
26 December 2022
I was looking forward to watching this movie having a dance background but you can't rewrite history and the first non-black was actually asian and a black Rockette wasn't until 1987-88. We can't make movies politically correct to appease the present times but just reflecting the correct times is fine. I can appreciate a good movie that keeps to truth. I love Ann-Margret. I can't call this a spoiler, the promo movie photo I didn't see first and I would have skipped it with looking at the cast members. I gave high stars is because I grew up with Ann and loved her. You can be non-white and want history portrayed correctly even if a feel-good movie. If anything it only made me think of the times and how it wasn't like this as the movie portrays.

I enjoyed it!
5 July 2022
I thought it to be funny and over the top and it just wasn't that deep to give it lower stars. If you read the premise of the movie about 4 bad lil girls, all else is expected. So, enjoyed it my movie watchers were cracking up!

Samuel Jackson and Dominique Fishback Bravo!
9 April 2022
Being a long-time fan of Samuel Jackson, these two deserve Awards! Samuel just showed us all why the was the recipient of a long and well-deserved Oscar honorary award! If anyone has been affected by a loved one's dementia, this is a story that has you crying and laughing all at the same time. What an ingenious plot by Walter Mosely. The production company did a brilliant job portraying the real decline as I've never seen dementia acted out before. The young lady Dominique Fishback was all of us who showed the true roller coaster of emotions that you feel watching this happen to a loved one's mental decline and she did it with conviction. Kudos to her, she was just real, believable and I hope her career soars! The supporting cast was spot on for showing the unraveling fractures of a family and oftentimes the handout they expect at the end when they disappear with their disinterest in family support. Robyn is the caretaker that gets the abuse not the appreciation at the end of the day but without the money or gratitude. I think we can all relate to having a loved one if only for a moment in time become lucid, if just for a few days. I enjoyed it and it's one for the ages. While it may be poignant for the African American community, who may not always have the support system in place which I am glad this story did an excellent in portraying (sometimes the village needs watching) it's also relatable in so many ways to all ethnicities as a cautionary tale of a debilitating non-reversible illness. What stood out is the acting, storyline, and the depiction of a ravishing horrid disease that's foremost. Enjoy, this, I just could have watched this for a few more episodes. Not giving anything away, the storyline does that, it's about the illness. Now watch!

If your loved one has Dementia, hit out the ballpark!
18 September 2021
This movie was one of the best movies I've yet seen that is so realistically and brilliantly played by this wonderful actress and a supporting cast that is a combination of what this devastating illness actually brings, sadness, heartache, comedy and memories! It did bring tears and happiness all a hodgepodge of emotions and I just relived it but this was the most poignant movie telling a story that I've ever seen. I loved "The Father," but this one be will be a classic forever! Big KUDOS to the screenwriter etc. A 10+

Stephen King delivered..
2 September 2019
I have learned to not go by the reviews of naysayers solely. Weigh the reviews and you can usually tell within the first half hour which way it's going to go. That's what happened and this made for such a good movie. Plot twist was amazing and definitely a Stephen King plot. Enjoyed it. It's not average by a longshot.

Watch for yourself, it's a feel good
18 August 2019
Warm hearted & full of funny moments. This is so relatable if you have grown sons or daughters. I read the comments & based on them, All three actresses are the reason I watched as they are the finest and this movie is not lost on their talents, skills and their unique personalities they bring to their characters. I enjoyed this and learned something today. Don't totally go solely on reviews. Watch for yourself & you may sign up as I did when reviewers get it wrong for some of us. I laughed, felt teary-eyed, relatable, warm, funny & heartfelt <3 Enjoy!
