This movie was released first time in Thailand in 2002 and I was enjoy very much. I did not expect much and impressed a lot for their action scenes. The plot is easy to predict and the acting of Jaa was poor. But the whole movie substitute the weak points by the great action fighting that I never seen.
When I first saw the trailer, I don't think it's Muay Thai. But when I watched the movie, yes this is Muay Thai. Our ancient martial art that even Thai people never seen like this. These style using of elbows, knees are from the old methods. Not what travelers see at Thai boxing stadium in Bangkok.
This movie means a lot for Thai people as it remind us about our heritage from our ancestors.
For additional information:
Tony Jaa real name is Panom Yeeram. His nickname is Jaa. This is his first movie for the leading role. Before, he was a stuntman. To fulfilled his dream, he tried to collect money to buy the film to filmed his own acting to present to the movie company. But the first filming was mistake and the film was ruined. He and his colleague (I can't remember who) cried and hug each other like sportsmen who lost the competition.
Petchtai Wongkamlao who played Humlae is the famous comedy star in Thailand. Before the movie released in Thailand, no one know Panom. But we know Petchtai. Many of Thai watched this movie because of Petchtai. But now, the famous of Jaa can compare with Petchtai already.
This is the first movie of Pumwaree Yodkamol who played Muaylek, too.
After this movie, Petchtai directed his own movie called "Bodyguard" in 2003. It is comedy/action that I not recommended to you. Now he is leading actor and hired Jaa as special guest in his movie (Jaa appeared only one scene). Pumwaree Yodkamol also played as leading actress, this is her second movie.

This movie is not bad, worth to see. Within 90 minutes they've done well with all of the characters. Each characters have their own role. Especially, the main cast, 2 old men with their great action. Plot is simple but still great. This movie is fit to watch while we need little break.

I went to watch this movie without any plot or any expectation. I never see the trailer before. I just guess from the actors and actresses list that this movie should be interesting. And this is the very disappointed movie of year 2002 that I have seen. Very bored presentation. I can not go along with this movie. The plot are confuse, many characters but not deep in details. It's not entertain me. I almost walk out from the theater after half an hour, but I still sit and watch it until end. Also there is a good point in this movie, the end of the movie that every problems can be solved. That should be O.K. after tolerate for almost 2 hours. I rate this movie 4/10.
