At the center of this episode is Dr. Lewis and her troubles. She released a cardiac patient after getting the OK of the surgeon. She gave him a full range of symptoms but when he died he threw her under the bus. She is facing the fact that she can control everything. Her discussion with Mark about sister Chloe is really revealing. She has to realize that she can't control everything. She has been burned so many times.
We see more of Carter's development. When he scrubs in he ends up as an observer because he compromises his sterility.
There are many other cases, including a middle aged woman who is pregnant, but her husband is infertile.
Also, Doug continues his childish ways with his bed jumping. There are some really good story lines going on right now.

The most critical plot of this episode has to do with the estranged husband of a young woman. He has been in an accident and declared brain dead. He has chosen to be an organ-donor. There are eight people waiting for his parts, including a heart. But the guilt ridden wife continues to balk at it. Benton jumps the gun and schedules pickups for all the organs.
Rosemary Clooney gets another paycheck, coming in with dementia and singing again.
Susan's sister Chloe announces she is pregnant. She can barely take care of herself. Benton must face the fact that his mother needs to go to a nursing home.
Both Susan and Carol face situations involving their love lives. Doug again steps over the line. Good episode.
