Unlike the American version, Drag Race UK gives out RuPeter badges to commemorate challenge wins. This is because Drag Race UK airs on the BBC, which has a strict rule in which the prize cannot be money, as the BBC is government owned.
Where the USA version has "Untucked" usually as a separate companion series to each main episode, the UK version has a backstage untucked segment inserted after Rupaul sends them all off stage to untuck, which then cuts to the "Untucked" sequences, before then returning to the judges deliberations, as usual. With adverts this would return the show to a 90 minute running time on commercial networks, as the BBC edit of Rupaul's Drag Race UK, without commercial break buffers, recaps, etc comes in at a continuous 75 minutes, at least in the early episodes of each seasons, before most are eliminated.
As of mid-2021, many hardcore Drag Race fans, within the first few episodes of original broadcast dates, consider the first 2 UK seasons to be probably the best ever versions, of both the various International localised versions, and the original USA versions.
When the first series was first made available, it was online only via BBC Three.
Choriza May (Series 3) had previously been a contestant on the ITV 2 panel game show, Celebability,
