Belgravia: The Next Chapter is a period drama about the aristocratic Trenchard family and the kind of dilemmas they face while they maneuver through the elite circles of London. Even though season one was a lukewarm affair, it managed to get the performances right from the actors, who were consistent from the start to the end. There has been no news from the network, and the makers of the show have not announced season two of this historical drama. The article is merely based on speculation and assumptions about what the makers might consider for the next season.

Amazon is looking to increase the amount of streaming ads it offers, and its streaming platform MGM+ could be next to see ads invade its interface.
As streaming services go, MGM+ tends to skate under the radar a bit. The streamer is owned by Amazon, but is typically an afterthought when discussing that company’s other streaming platforms like Prime Video, Freevee and even Twitch. In fact, during Amazon’s conference call with Wall Street analysts to discuss its quarterly earnings report, MGM+ was not even mentioned by Amazon executives. Nevertheless, subscribers would be smart to anticipate big changes to the streamer in the near future, specifically in its decision to thus far not to include ads on the platform.
Amazon CFO Brian Olsavsky told analysts his company wants to increase advertising in its streaming properties. Prime Video converted all customers to ad-supported unless they pay to go ad-free on Jan.

Exclusive: Earlier this morning, Amazon revealed that it was laying off several hundred employees across Prime Video and Amazon Studios as part of a review of its business.
Details have emerged about the cuts, which were described by one source close to the company as a “bloodbath”. Senior execs let go include Nancy Cotton, Arturo Interian, Marcy Kaplan, Chris Castallo and Uri Fleming across different divisions.
Most of the exits are a result of the integration of Lindsay Sloane’s MGM Scripted Television team alongside MGM+ and the Barry Poznick-led MGM Alternative TV under Chris Brearton, VP, Corporate Strategy, Prime Video and Studios. Sloane and Poznick’s teams will continue to work closely with the studios teams in developing for Prime Video and also will continue to produce for outside networks and streamers.

Prime Video series “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” has unveiled first look images.
The series is a reimagining of the 2005 film starring Brad Pit and Angelina Jolie as Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith, respectively. In this iteration, Donald Glover (“The Martian”) stars as John Smith, while Maya Erskine (“PEN15”) stars as Jane Smith.
This new version features John and Jane both landing jobs working for an international spy agency where they must pose as spouses Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith. As they navigate a new mission each week, they find themselves falling in love with one another, complicating — and compromising — their “strictly business” relationship. Notably, this version features an intentional sham marriage between two strangers, as compared to the 2005 original, in which Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith were married without being aware of each other’s identity as an assassin.
Glover serves as co-creator and executive producer, along with Francesca Sloane...

The series from creator/executive producer John Griffin and showrunner Jeff Pinkner (Lost, Alias, Fringe) ranks as the network’s second-most-viewed series in its history and trails only Forest Whitaker-led drama Godfather of Harlem.

Never let it be said that Zendaya isn’t up for a challenge. The two-time Emmy-winning “Euphoria” star’s newest film “Challengers” dropped its first trailer this week, denoting the beginning of a marketing campaign that will continue until the film is released in theaters on Sept. 15.
Tennis player turned coach Tashi (Zendaya) has taken her husband, Art (Mike Faist), and transformed him into a world-famous Grand Slam champion. To jolt him out of his recent losing streak, she makes him play a “Challenger” event — close to the lowest level of pro tournament — where he finds himself standing across the net from his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend (Josh O’Connor).
Watch the New Trailer for ‘Challengers’:
The movie’s theatrical debut is still more than two months off, so unfortunately for Zendaya fans it will be even longer before it’s ready to stream from home.

Now Amazon’s MGM+ is playing with “Power.” And “Outlander,” and “P-Valley,” etc.
Starz and Amazon have struck what the companies are calling a “long term” deal to bundle Starz with MGM+ on Prime Video in the U.S. The subscription bundle, which is launching “in the coming weeks,” will cost 11.99 per month, the companies said on Friday. That’s a 20 percent discount vs. subscribing to both services on a standalone basis, which would cost 14.99. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Starz was already available as a Prime Video Channels add-on for 8.99 per month. This arrangement just brings it more within the family.

He is leading the charge to rebrand Epix on January 15 with significant backing from new owner Amazon and a mandate to order more original series so that it can have a slate of new shows on air every week of the year.
This will include some existing favorites such as Godfather of Harlem, starring Forest Whitaker, and sci-fi horror series From, as well as some new series such as Hotel Cocaine from Narcos’ Chris Brancato and a follow-up to Julian Fellowes’ Belgravia, as well as potentially new seasons of shows such as Condor and Chapelwaite.
Not to mention a move into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Silk: Spider Society.

Exclusive: The process of integrating MGM into the broader Amazon universe is starting to gain momentum eight months after the 8.5B sale by the tech giant was completed.
Deadline understands that employees across MGM’s television and film business who have contracts have been offered one-year extensions as Amazon begins to bring the vaunted Hollywood studio inside its entertainment division. This follows the first step in combining the workforces which involved looking at the executive levels within Amazon Studios and MGM and aligning the structures at the two companies.
The new contracts for MGM staffers, who could opt out, go through December 31, 2023 when they would become at-will Amazon employees, sources tell Deadline. The move is designed to help with the integration process, making the switch more gradual. Amazon does not employ contracts, even at the top executive level and compensation is also structured differently, with a base and stock.
