When people got their first look at the Silent Hill 2 remake, it must have triggered a lot of memories, not all of them happy. Sure, people must be happy that a beloved horror title is getting an upgrade for modern consoles, but it will also bring back all the horrors and scares in even higher resolution.
However, it’s not the only game that is sure to disturb you. The horror genre has been buzzing lately, and we now have another addition to that roster. With dreary visuals, disturbing creatures, and claustrophobic environments, Post Trauma might be what you need before the release of the remake.

Cyberpunk 2077 may have had a rough launch, but the game has evolved over the years to become not only playable but one of the best games of the current generation. CD Projekt Red has worked tirelessly to release patch after patch to ensure their latest flagship title is playable.
One aspect some gamers had an issue with regarding the title was the first-person perspective, and the melee combat was not the most satisfying. But what if Cyberpunk 2077 setting was combined with Batman Arkham Asylum’s combat mechanics? Well, we’d have Kiborg!
Kiborg Brings Heavy Hits To a City Styled After Cyberpunk 2077 Cyberpunk 2077 meets Arkham in Kiborg!
Immersive titles such as those from CD Projekt Red have a special place in every gamer’s heart. But sometimes you just want to sit back with a title that doesn’t demand much from the player but is still a fun experience.

With 2025 as the official release date for GTA 6, gamers are champing at the bit for anything new about the game coming from Rockstar. The previous trailer gave us a fair bit to consider, but there is always more to be shown, especially given the long development process of the title.
Conferences and expos are prime opportunities for studios to reveal their games, and Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest is soon approaching. However, there will be no GTA 6 content at the event, and it’s not the only studio choosing to keep quiet about its upcoming project.

Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest has filled the void left by the demise of E3. The event is marked on many calendars, as the fourth installment is slated for Friday, June 7. We can be sure of seeing a combination of footage for upcoming games and new reveals.
The latter is always exciting, with people making many predictions of what they hope to see announced at the event. These predictions are usually for existing franchises and titles, but it’s the completely fresh games that always spark the greatest conversations. Nightdive Studios may be gunning for that goal with their latest teaser.

Few directors and creatives survive after their first big success; people like Ken Levine, Glen Schofield, and Cliff Bleszinski were not so lucky after the success of their greatest IP. Once Gears of War was behind Cliffy B, the director tried several times to make a new great game.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to welcome the Fantastic Four. The group, led by The Last of Us fame Pedro Pascal, will pit an older group of superheroes against Silver Surfer and Galactus, two well-known villains. After keeping us guessing for months, Marvel has finally revealed that Julia Garner—best known for starring in the Netflix series Ozark—is being cast as Silver Surfer.
Doug Jones as the Silver Surfer in a still from Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
It should be noted, however, that this version will be Shalla-Bal, Silver Surfer’s romantic interest in Marvel Comics. But it seems not everyone is happy with the latest Marvel update on the upcoming flick.
Lakeith Stanfield, best known for his dynamic acting range in films such as Sorry to Bother You and Judas and the Black Messiah, expressed disappointment when Garner was announced as the new Silver Surfer.

BioShock creator Ken Levine has shown off some new gameplay details for his upcoming Judas to select outlets, and the old BioShock DNA is unmistakeable.
There’s an awful lot of chat about “narrative Lego” in the various news posts swirling around about Judas, the next game from BioShock designer Ken Levine. It’s a phrase Levine first brought up about a decade ago when he first started talking publicly about his first project since 2013’s BioShock Infinite, and is shorthand for the way Judas uses discrete blocks of plot to construct a unique story for each player.
Over the past few weeks or so, Levine’s new studio, Ghost Story Games, has invited a couple of journalists from big, posh outlets to sample Judas first-hand. Both IGN's Ryan McCaffrey and The Game Awards’ Geoff Keighley have made videos in which they interview Ken Levine and play through his ambitious-sounding action-adventure.

Dylan had been off the road for eight very long years at this point, and demand to see his return was so intense that promoters received 5.5 million ticket requests via a cumbersome mail-order system. Oddly, Jennifer Aniston was hit with collateral damage after appearing to have liked Foxx’s post, and found herself taking heat for seemingly supporting his perceived antisemitism.

Disney’s Haunted Mansion has officially materialized in theaters nationwide, unleashing 999 grim grinning ghosts upon audiences.
Justin Simien (Dear White People, Bad Hair) directed the new live-action adaptation of the famous, long-running Disney theme park attraction from the screenplay by Katie Dippold (Ghostbusters, “Parks and Recreation”).
Bloody Disgusting spoke with Simien for the film’s release about capturing the unique tone of the dark ride and what stars Lakeith Stanfield and Chase Dillon brought to the production.
The family-friendly feature emphasizes humor, but Haunted Mansion doesn’t shy away from inducing frights or tugging at the heartstrings.
Simien took the gateway scares seriously, stemming from his lifelong love of horror that began in childhood. The director’s origins with horror give insight into his approach to crafting gateway scares that don’t talk down to the film’s younger audience.
“One of my core memories is watching Nightmare on Elm Street at five years old.

Bron, the finance and production company that backed films including Joker, Licorice Pizza, Bombshell and Judas and the Black Messiah, has filed for bankruptcy, its co-founder Aaron J. Gilbert said Wednesday.
In a letter to “friends, partners, team members and backers,” Gilbert wrote today that Bron — the parent company of Bron Studios and Bron Digital — had filed for creditor protection with the Supreme Court of British Columbia in Canada, where it is based, concurrent with Chapter 15 in the U.S.
The Chapter 15 designation deals with cases involving more than one country.
“Having explored many options for many months, Bron had no choice but to take this step in light of its financial circumstances,” Gilbert wrote (read the full letter here). “The last few years have been incredibly difficult for Bron, and things have only gotten more complicated over these past months. First things first, Fear the Invisible Man is not a sequel to the 2020 version of The Invisible Man although I’m sure the film’s makers won’t mind if you think so. Instead, it’s an adaptation of H.G. Wells’ novel that, unlike most adaptations of his work, keeps the book’s Victorian setting.
Griffin is in a race against time to finish his experiments. The reason, his landlord and a bailiff are pounding on the door, ready to evict him. Injecting himself with it moments before they kick in the door, his flesh and bone vanish and he escapes, though not before causing an explosion that kills them and destroys his lab.
Elsewhere Adeline is disbelievingly reading about a series of crimes supposedly caused by an invisible man.

Dominique Fishback is sitting backstage waiting to discuss her latest role, starring in Amazon Prime Video’s “Swarm,” when her ears perk up at a familiar sound: an engine revving.
On the other side of a partition, an audience watches a particularly tense scene from the show’s fourth episode, titled “Running Scared,” when Fishback’s Dre — a murderous super fan of Ni’jah, a Beyoncé-esque pop star — faces down a group of women who stand between her and attending the singer’s concert.
Fishback playfully re-enacts the scene, gripping an imaginary steering wheel and pressing her high-heeled foot down onto a pretend gas pedal that sends her speeding ahead and crashing into Dre’s latest victims. She pulls a funny face and hams it up for a rep’s cellphone camera, unknowingly demonstrating the type of darkly comedic energy that makes “Swarm” so buzzworthy.

Leslie Odom Jr. has been flirting with Egot in recent years, but hasn’t quite gotten there yet. But he could get one step closer to that elite status with a Best Comedy Guest Actor win for “Abbott Elementary.”
SEEEmmys spotlight: ‘Yellowjackets’ 1996 cast deserves awards recognition as Season 2 MVPs
Odom’s journey to Egot started with Broadway’s “Hamilton.” That musical alone got him halfway there. He claimed the Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album as a principal vocalist on the show’s cast recording. Then he won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. That just leaves the Emmy and Oscar — easier said than done, of course, but Odom has already received nominations for both.
He picked up Oscar nominations for Best Supporting Actor and Best Original Song for his work in Regina King‘s feature directing debut “One Night in Miami” (2020). He was actually the front-runner...

[This story contains spoilers to the entire season of Swarm.]
Following this weekend’s release of Swarm, viewers on social media are still abuzz (and attempting to recover) from analyzing the performance of Dominique Fishback as Andrea “Dre” Greene, a strangely warped sweet-faced psychopath serial killer in Amazon Prime Video’s new binge watch.
And if you ask the seven-episode series’ showrunner, who co-created the show with Donald Glover (aka rapper Childish Gambino), Janine Nabers tells The Hollywood Reporter she expected nothing less from Fishback’s portrayal of Dre, who is introduced as a mild-mannered and friendly faced young Black woman who dotes over her foster sister Marissa (Chloe Bailey) while struggling to earn income to pay the rent in their small Houston, Texas, apartment. By the end of episode one, however, the audience sees Dre rapidly spiral into a psychotic and sociopathic chaotic chasm of delusion, wrath and vengeance after blaming herself for not preventing Marissa’s act of suicide.

Plot: Set between 2016-2018, the series follows Dre, an obsessed fan of the world’s biggest pop star who sets off on an unexpected cross-country journey.
Review: When Donald Glover left Community in 2014, he was viewed as a talented actor and musician on the rise. But, when Atlanta premiered in 2016, Glover was viewed as a multi-hyphenate by adding auteur to his resume. During its four-season run, the FX series defied categorization, touching on comedy, drama, satire, and horror. After signing a big deal with Amazon, Glover delves further into the void of the surreal and dark humor that highlighted Atlanta. Swarm, a deeply creepy new series starring Dominique Fishburne, will immediately resonate with fans of Glover’s previous series while delivering even more disturbing storylines inspired by Beyonce’s hardcore fans. Skewering the power of online fans through the lens of a disturbed young woman, Swarm features a road trip...

The cast and creatives behind Swarm, a mesmerizing TV series that premiered at SXSW ahead of its March 17 debut on Prime Video, have taken pains to avoid the elephant in the room: Beyoncé. It’s an odd predicament given that the form-breaking show is absolutely littered with references to the music icon. Ni’Jah is a pop star hailing from Houston, Texas. Her recent album is complemented by Afrofuturist visuals, and she has a talented younger sister who attacked her cheating spouse in an elevator. Dre (Dominique Fishback) is Ni’Jah’s most hardcore fan.

Editor’s note: Tom Luddy, co-founder of the Telluride Film Festival, died last week at age 79. Here, filmmaker Alan Elliott, who directed the Aretha Franklin documentary Amazing Grace, remembers his kind spirit and moral compass. He also pays tribute to one of Luddy’s signature projects: a collaboration with Agnès Varda on an influential 1968 film about the Black Panthers.

While we’re waiting for that next BioShock entry, the mastermind behind the original game, Ken Levine, has something new up his sleeve with the folks at Ghost Story Games with Judas. The game was revealed at The Game Awards in a brand-new trailer.
While details are still forthcoming, the trailer for Judas definitely gives off that BioShock vibe. The game is being developed by Ghost Story Games, a Take-Two Interactive subsidiary, and this will serve as the studio’s first title.
In a press release, Levine states that Ghost Story Games was founded “to build upon the legacy of System Shock 2, BioShock, and BioShock Infinite“. Levine says that with Judas, the team has “created an entirely new world and set of characters while exploring different approaches to single-player, narrative first-person shooters.”
Judas will be headed to the PS5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Epic Game Store.

The great debate about whether films that depict Black stories placed against the backdrop of American history’s dark side are a form of healing or, conversely, a reopening of long-expressed wounds, is nuanced and unneat. Consistently, the most celebrated prestige films that center the Black experience or feature predominantly Black casts — like this year’s Devotion, Emancipation and Till, plus previous Oscar winners Judas and the Black Messiah, Selma and 12 Years a Slave — have been historical narratives repackaged and reanimated for modern audiences. And, most often, they operate in the register of adversity and trauma, which is, at best, a lopsided representation of the vast dynamism of Black American life and, at worst, retrigger new generations of viewers who deserve fresh stories and lighter fare.

[This story contains spoilers for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever]
In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams was certainly caught off guard when Letitia Wright’s Shuri showed up on her doorstep at MIT. The Wakandan princess needed answers about one of Riri’s inventions, and she ultimately came away impressed by another young woman who possesses the same genius-level intellect. In the process, Riri said the line “to be young, gifted and Black,” which is a phrase that has quite a legacy, especially during the Civil Rights Movement. The saying originated with 1959’s To Be Young, Gifted and Black: Lorraine Hansberry in her Own Words, an autobiographical play about the late playwright Lorraine Hansberry, and a decade later, Nina Simone named her anthemic song after the play in order to honor her friend.

I think it’s time for wrestling! Let’s go watch New Japan.
[Author’s Note: Darby Allin, who was accused of rape and found neither guilty or innocent in a court of law, is on this show and if that alarms or upsets you then viewer discretion is advised]. Match #1: Chris Jericho b. Shawn Spears – Chairs Match (Shawn Only) The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Mjf (leader of The Pinnacle) joined the commentary team for this match. Spears was brandishing the chair as the bell rang. Jericho moved in and chopped away at Spears, forcing Spears to drop the chair. Spears retaliated with chops of his own, but Jericho ran full force into Spears, knocking him outside the ring. This is how the 93rd Oscars ends, not with a bang, but with a whimper. So it was, as the Academy Awards reached its climax—having delivered the Best Picture winner to Nomadland two categories earlier—by giving its Best Actor prize to Anthony Hopkins… who wasn’t in the room to pick it up.
Perhaps show producers Steven Soderbergh, Stacey Sher and Jesse Collins were expecting the award to go in a different direction, but in the end Hopkins became the oldest Best Actor winner of all time for his turn in The Father, while Frances McDormand picked up her third Oscar for Lead Actress in Nomadland.
Elsewhere, Daniel Kaluuya won Best Supporting Actor for Judas and the Black Messiah, and Yuh-jung Youn took Best Supporting Actress for Minari. The prize for Best Director went to Nomadland‘s Chloe Zhao, much earlier into the evening than we’ve come to expect.

In a year with no competition for big-budget spectacles, Christopher Nolan’s $200-million infinity loop thriller “Tenet” should have been able to nab more than two Oscar nominations. Instead, the black-and-white drama “Mank” — a story of Hollywood’s decidedly analog Golden Age — scooped up 10 nods; similarly, Paul Greengrass’ epic western, “News of the World,” earned four. What happened?
For one thing, rather than spend Warner Bros. Oscar dollars on a $2.5 billion filmmaker who spent his entire studio career as its in-house auteur, Warners funded a major awards campaign for its late-breaking “Judas and the Black Messiah,” directed by Shaka King in his studio filmmaking debut at an eighth of the cost of “Tenet.”
It’s an unlikely outcome driven by many strange circumstances, only one of which was the pandemic. The biggest factor: an A-list director’s unflappable hubris in the face of a killer virus. “Chris never had a misstep before in his career,...
