If one was to compare two of the greatest cinematic products of the 1990s, it would be amiss not to elevate Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction to the top of the list. But it was also these two cinematic giants that competed for the Oscars in 1995 with one coming out on top and giving rise to a never-ending debate that rages even 30 years later.

With Quentin Tarantino’s iconoclastic thriller and Robert Zemeckis’s comedy-drama turning 30 this year, fans look back to an era that produced classics that had no right being so good and established a standard that makes films today feel dim-witted in comparison.

As summer approaches (for the Northern Hemisphere at least), Netflix is set to premiere a fresh season of one of its biggest hits.
Brigerton season 3 is set to arrive on May 16 and will debut a “new crop of debutantes” into the regency drama fray. Other original series of note this month include Indian drama Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar (May 1), the Jeff Daniels-starring A Man in Full (May 2), and intriguing Korean title The 8 Show (May 17). Of course, Netflix is also rolling out a suite of true crime docs and docuseries as well. Chief among those options is Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal on May 15.
It’s the movie side of things where Netflix is feeling particularly lively though. May 3 sees the arrival of Jerry Seinfeld Pop Tart comedy Unfrosted. That will be followed by rom-com Mother of the Bride (May 9) and the Jennifer Lopez-starring Atlas (May 24).

Viewers have watched 1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton struggle with her weight for four years now, but is she also struggling with her money? She has dropped some hints that she might be hurting for cash recently. Despite her success with her weight loss and the TV show, it seems like Tammy may need money. Keep reading to see what she has to say about it.
Tammy Slaton Has Come A Long Way
There is no doubt Tammy Slaton has overcome a lot in her life. Since 1000-Lb Sisters first debuted on TLC in 2020, viewers have watched her lose more than 400 pounds. Prior to her major weight loss, Tammy was over 700 pounds and could not get around on her own.
On top of that, she generally just had a decreased quality of life. Eventually, her health issues landed her in the emergency room and, eventually, in a long-term care facility...

Pauley Perrette’s NCIS character Abby Sciuto is a fan-favorite. Her role as a forensic scientist is easily in the top three most popular characters in the history of the CBS series, including spinoffs.
Perrette left the series back in 2018. However, just recently, some of the decision-makers at the network were asked if her iconic character could return. Moreover, could it be for anything from a cameo to her own spinoff? Here is what they had to say.

Pauley Perrette left her role as the punky, ultra-intelligent forensic scientist wiz Abby Sciuto at the end of NCIS Season 15? Is there any chance she could return? Maybe.
According to a recent Deadline interview with CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach, as well as CBS Studios President David Stapf about this possibility.

“This is a love letter to Black women,” Da’Vine Joy Randolph said backstage at the Academy Awards, having just collected her Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Holdovers.
Asked how important it feels to her to feel and be seen, Randolph said, “It’s imperative, because the people who’ve done it before me allow me to be in this position now, and so the type of work I do, my strive for authenticity, for quality, allows there to be a new standard set where we can tell universal stories in black and brown bodies, and it can be accepted and enjoyed amongst the masses. It’s not just Black TV or Black movies for Black people, instead of a universal performance that can be enjoyed by all.”
In the Alexander Payne-directed The Holdovers, Randolph stars as Mary, a cook in an East Coast boarding school.

For the second time in the last three years, the Oscar for Best Documentary Short has been claimed by Ben Proudfoot. Actor Andrew Scott recently joined the 77th BAFTA Awards ceremony in support of his 2023 romantic fantasy film All of Us Strangers, which received six nominations, including Outstanding British Film and Best Director. However, he encountered a rough start to the evening as he faced uncomfortable questioning regarding Barry Keoghan’s performance in Saltburn. Directed by Emerald Fennell, the film has been in conversations due to its unsettling and explicit scenes, particularly Keoghan’s fully nude dance scene.

More than 120 titles have been taken off this week, primarily Disney Channel original movies and vintage Disney live-action films, as well as a few series, including Zeke and Luther, Pepper Ann, So Random and the first three seasons of Nat Geo’s Genius and ESPN/Nat Geo docs.
According to sources, the takedowns were a result of a library title review. There have been several content purges at Disney+ over the last year amid cost-cutting, most notably the removal of a slew of original series last May.
Here is a list of movie titles that are said to be gone from Disney+ in Emea, compiled by Drew Ryan.

While there is a constant battle to grab the spot for the last release of the year, there is an eerie silence to occupy the dates for opening a year. Usually, no big release is excited to open the year or become the first film to release in January. Ever wondered why?
January seems to be a little jinxed for films that open the year at the box office. Not that we believe in such stuff, but the data provided says otherwise. In the last 15 years, every first film of the year that has been released at the box office has met a disastrous fate.
Sometimes, filmmakers have even waited for the second...

Stars: Danell Leyva, Victoria Vertuga, Jamie Bernadette, Torrey B. Lawrence | Written and Directed by Eric Williford
At the start of Cold Blows the Wind, Dean and Tasha look in the trunk of their car and are surprised to find a badly injured man. They’re surprised not because he’s there, but because they thought they killed him when Tasha hit him while driving drunk. Realising he isn’t dead Tasha wants to get him to a hospital while Dean is worried once what happens gets out they’ll go to jail. To avoid that he takes the only logical course of action and stabs the man to death. Tasha reluctantly helps him bury the body.
Writer/director Eric Williford and cinematographer Marc Martinez give us a striking burial scene full of moonlight and mist as the couple squabble while digging the grave. And as they do, someone is watching them,...

What a difference five years can make. This time back in 2018, Marvel Studios was on a red hot streak and was gearing up for the release of "Captain Marvel," another sure-to-be box office gem to add to its figurative Infinity Gauntlet. It's easy to forget just how much awful people on the internet had it out for the House of Ideas' first solo woman-led Marvel Cinematic Universe film, especially when star Brie Larson dared to use her platform to highlight the staggering lack of inclusivity among the ranks of the press. But despite the chorus of clowns online chanting "Go woke, go broke," the film handily became a member of the coveted billion-dollar club.
("Captain Marvel" isn't even that "woke," for the record, though that's another discussion.)
Now, the "Captain Marvel" sequel, "The Marvels", has set a new franchise low for MCU box office domestic opening weekends. Coupled with the film's middling reviews,...

As "Yellowstone" diehards endlessly await the eventual conclusion of the series, the Sheridan-verse is experiencing another renaissance now that season 1 is being aired on network television for the very first time. That's also breathing new life into one of the main characters that has unfortunately been relegated to the sidelines more and more with each passing season of the show. Wife to Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) and longtime resident at the Broken Rock Indian Reservation, Monica Long (Kelsey Asbille) is a powerhouse in "Yellowstone" season 1.
Monica is one of the last true holdouts that keeps Kaycee away from the controlling arms of his father, John Dutton (Kevin Costner), and she's a beacon of light as a school teacher in a community that desperately needs to hold onto their culture and remember the importance of a good education. Viewers currently watching the show on CBS can see that she's easily...

It’s always a blow when a fan-favorite actor leaves a beloved show. Loyal viewers are likely to speculate about the real reasons for a cast member’s departure. Add in reports of behind-the-scenes workplace drama, and the situation becomes even more intriguing. Take CBS’s mega-hit NCIS. The long-running show has seen several major stars exit over its 20-season run. But none has generated as many headlines as Abby Sciuto actor Pauley Perrette’s 2017 decision not to return to the procedural drama.

Several NCIS insiders recently chatted with The Hollywood Reporter for an oral history of the Jag spinoff. Along with revelations about the surprising actors who were considered for the show – including Andrew McCarthy and Jennifer Aniston – were some fresh insights about several high-profile cast changes.

Maren Morris says somewhat reluctantly leaving country music as she grapples with how the industry she grew up in can not only feel “like indoctrination” but has evolved following Donald Trump’s presidency.
Morris’ last year has seen her calling out conservative elements of the country music genre, garnering her a few headlines amid high-profile clashes. That includes her criticisms of singer Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany Kerr, whose position on gender-affirming care Morris addressed onstage and on social media (which was then covered by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson).
Morris’ latest video for “The Tree” seemingly addresses Aldean’s video for “Try That in a Small Town” — praised by some as pro-Trump and condemned by others as an anti-Black, pro-lynching anthem that glorifies gun violence — through her own references to things like sundown towns and conservative refrains like “Go woke, go broke.”
In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times,...

NCIS has graced our television screens for the last 20 years. The show first premiered in 2003, and it followed Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs as he and his team, Naval Criminal Investigative Services, solved high-profile crimes connected to the Navy or Marines. Now, 20 years later, where is the season 1 cast today?
‘NCIS’ cast | Kevin Lynch/CBS/Getty Images Where is Mark Harmon from ‘NCIS’ today?
Mark Harmon was the NCIS lead, playing Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Harmon worked his way up the ranks on the show’s back end, eventually becoming its executive producer in 2008, just five years after it started. Harmon left the show, though, during its 19th season in 2021.
These days, nobody is aware of Harmon’s next move except him. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that he signed with a new production agency, so it seems that he’s still interested in acting. But he has racked up a $120 million...

Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment (Csse) has hit something of a wall. The company reported its second quarter 2023 earnings this week, and while total revenue was up year-over-year, it fell well short of Wall Street expectations. The company’s stock price has taken a beating, falling to $0.88 per share in after-hours trading on Monday amidst news that it had absorbed a net loss of $43.7 million during the quarter.
The numbers suggest that Csse is having a tougher time digesting last year's purchase of Redbox than anticipated. Both CEO Bill Rouhana and CFO Jason Meier said during their conference call to discuss the report with analysts and investors that the company planned to “streamline” aspects of its businesses to help boost revenue flows, which means cuts could be coming to its streaming platforms Redbox and Crackle.

After 25 years, Susana Gimenez, Argentina’s celebrated TV host, actress, model and entrepreneur, is set to make her hotly anticipated return to the big screen in a new Diego Kaplan comedy.
The still untitled film, penned by Kaplan and Pablo Minces, centers on a preeminent child psychologist who has her own struggles with her 43-year-old son who is reluctant to leave home. Principal photography is slated for October in Buenos Aires.
“I can’t believe I’m making a movie after all these years; I certainly wasn’t planning for it,” said Gimenez. “But Diego is a force of nature and a visionary. When he pitched the project to me, I just couldn’t resist it and jumped right in,” she added. Aside from starring in a host of film and TV series, Gimenez hosted a top-rated talk show likened to that of Oprah Winfrey or Italy’s Raffaella Carrà.

Easily the coolest thing Bloody Disgusting was able to be part of last year was bringing Damien Leone‘s Terrifier 2 to theaters nationwide, the film smashing box office expectations and now streaming exclusively on the Bd-powered Screambox. Our friends over at Broke Horror Fan and Witter Entertainment now pay tribute with their own exclusive merchandise.
Approved by the filmmaker, the official “Written and Directed by Damien Leone” t-shirt is now available from Witter Entertainment, along with the first Terrifier on fully-functional VHS!
The t-shirts are available in Size S – Xxxxl, selling for 20 and expected to begin shipping out in February. As for Terrifier on VHS, several different variants are now available.
And yes, Broke Horror Fan and Witter Entertainment brought Terrifier 2 to VHS as well, but that release is sold out at the moment. We’ve been told there will be a restock this year.
