Rewriting Destiny
ThomasDrufke12 December 2018
Another year, another successful crossover for the CW Arrowverse. Admittedly, it's extremely difficult for any crossover to live up to the incredible feat they pulled off last year with Crisis on Earth-X, and it showed over the last few nights.

I can't necessarily pinpoint what it was about this crossover that felt underwhelming and dull, but it felt like the magic was gone. I don't want to say for sure it was the lack of Legends available, but doesn't it seem like there was a legitimate lack of unique character interactions and funny one-liners? We've been so spoiled by what the shows have been able to accomplish over the last few years that this one (even with Superman) was just lacking. Also, why was John Wesley Shipp barely in this crossover? It was sure built up over social media to be way more than just a brief cameo, but that's essentially all it was.

On a different note, I enjoyed seeing Tyler Hoechlin get to stretch his acting ability a bit with him playing both regular Superman and John Deegan's version of "Dark Superman". He was surprisingly good at playing the latter.

It's also fun to watch Barry and Oliver play out this crossover like a buddy cop mystery story, and cap it off with a drink at the bar (as they typically do, albeit without the annual hug). Which really brings the episode to the shocking/maybe not so shocking reveal of Crisis on Infinite Earths for next year's crossover. I guess we don't have to wait and wonder all summer as to how the CW will top the crossover from the previous year. Instead, we're left asking what exactly Oliver promised the Monitor in order to save Kara and Barry's life. Could it be that somehow Oliver disappears in Crisis and not Barry?

We're even closer to Crisis on Infinite Earths
loftyzman_9812 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
To riadr-20911 and anyone annoyed with the Arrowverse's portrayal of Superman,

Supergirl is actually stronger and faster than Superman because she was on Krypton longer. She was a teen when she left. He was a baby. She's younger because she was stuck in the phantom zone and never aged until she came to earth.

This was a pretty fun conclusion to the Elseworlds Saga and probably the best episode of this Season of Supergirl. This season of Supergirl has been plagued by the Absence of Jeremy Jordan and some overly hamfisted social commentary that is at detriment to its capable cast. It was good to take a break from the main plot of supergirl, but it was also good to see Kara put into a new status quo, by replacing Superman

While not packing the emotional density of Crisis on Earth X, Elseworlds proved to be an enjoyable outing utilizing a great ensemble cast

Unsatisfying conclusion to a great crossover
Holt34412 December 2018
After two great parts we get an unsatisfying part with almost no action and few characters. Might be my expections but I wanted to see all heroes unite and John Wesley Shipp's The Flash and Batwoman fight alongside them. It felt like Deegan wasn't a threat and Superman being the weakest hero of the bunch. The conclusion could have been a lot better! Enough with the negativity, I found the whole buddy cop style with Oliver and Barry entertaining and personal as they both grew as people.

The overall crossover have been great, introducing new characters and locations plus hinting the biggest crossover yet. It have been a fantastic couple of episodes, I've been enjoying it all, the two first much more!

TV's Justice League
hawkins_saints_rock12 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Over the 7 years the arrowverse has been running, this crossover has truely been the closest we have been to Justice League. Across the 3 nights we have seen Superman, Supergirl, Green Arrow, The Flash, Batwoman, Martian Manhunter and many more DC heroes fight alongside each other. Pure awesomeness.

Anyway there's not much I can say in this review that I haven't said in my part 1 and 2 reviews. The humour, action and drama was just as good tonight as it was the previous two. So I'm just gonna leave it with a question. What did Oliver promise The Monitor? We know the next years crossover will finally be Crisis on Infinite Earths, and no doubt we'll find out what he promised in that crossover. But just of what magnitude is this promise? I'm betting on something big that will change the Arrowverse forever.

Good Ending
Sam_Morningstar13 December 2018
This is the last episode of the crossover. The acting was really good especially the lead actors. The villain was really interesting and I really enjoyed LaMonica Garrett's acting as The Monitor. I really liked the dynamic between the heroes and the villain. The humour and emotions was really good. There was actually good lessons to be learnt in this episode. The unfolding of the story was done pretty well. But there were many inconsistency and issues in this episode. The ending was really good. The after credit was the thing that made me the most excepted.

The Crisis is coming...
highmarksreviews14 December 2018
Elseworlds is one of the strongest succession of Arrowverse episodes to hit The CW in quite some time, with the perfect blend of comic book thrills, comedy and heart. Part 3 unfortunately isn't the perfect conclusion the crossover deserved, but it was fun and strong regardless. The twist of the good guys going bad was short lived, but fun regardless. Evil Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) and gangster Cisco (Carlos Valdes) were the undoubted highlights. The super smackdown between the two supermen also put the budget on full display, with insane visual effects and stunt doubles showcasing a truly epic showdown. While Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Alex (Cyler Leigh) had some touching moments together, it was Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) who truly propelled the episode's emotional element. Oliver is getting tired and his speech resonated with a tantalising hint at a heroic, but dark future. I didn't like the fact that all of Supergirl's supporting cast had to be dragged in at the last minute to tackle the already lame AMAZO robot. That felt out of place. Add Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) to the mix and it was a bit of a messy third act. A few speeches also came out a little corny truth be told. The ending was pretty decent though. Lois and Clark's special moments and a very nice tease of what comes next helped a bit. Elseworlds is the most fun I've had in this superverse in months and while the finale was imperfect, it remained strong and heart-felt regardless.

Oliver's bargain with the monitor
GigglesStewart14 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
With us knowing that arrow has it's final season, culminating in the crisis, and the comment the monitor makes about Oliver not wanting to die, but being willing to, to me is clear foreshadowing that Oliver offered himself as a sacrifice to keep the balance. No doubt in my mind.

I really liked this crossover. The humour, the references, especially the smallville one (big fan of that show) and the general tone, I really appreciated.

Why is this Superman terrible at everything?
riadr-2091112 December 2018
So the strongest character in the DC universe gets beaten up by a guy who just got his powers? Just stop using the character if you arent going to show him any kind of respect.

You dont need to tear him down to build Supergirl up, she can be great on her own. The only reason shes not as strong is because she wasnt exposed to the yellow sun as longas Clark because she got to Earth after he was already an adult, it has nothing to do with her being female. Sigh lets hope they dont make the same mistakes with Batgirl.

Great crossover!
DraconianSlaughter18 December 2018
The crossover was great overall. I do however agree on the point that Superman was a bit weak and that they're greatly mistreating the character "The world doesn't need Superman when it has Supergirl" yeah.. a bit of women's lib there.

Overall fantastic crossover and cannot wait for Crisis On Infinite Earths!

Flawed but still a nice cross-over!
asb_deutsch15 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The world didn't understand my methods, so I worked in secret until, one day, when a cosmic being recognized my potential and gave me the chance to be something greater. Someone greater....Really?

First things first.

The Pros- It was hilarious that Barry and Oliver are fugitives. And the receive a nice KO by Cisco and Co. In fact, the rodeo style with Oliver and Barry was the highlight of this episode. The drama between Kara and her sister was scripted nicely. In the end, the romance between Superman and Louis payed homage to Christopher Reeves as it reminds me of Superman II. BTW, I never saw Kara so beautiful till now. When she was in the meta-prison (in black), my heart couldn't stop fluttering!

The Cons- How can the meta-prison in STAR Labs stop Kara from using her powers when is not a meta? What was the real motive of Mr.Monitor? Bad Superman making the good Superman as a puppet*? First of all, I don't like his face. We had BvS a few years ago and now SvS! And when the evil Superman tries to snap the neck of Barry, he is helpless. Why couldn't he phase into some object, at least the roof? And running fast starts to kill Barry at Mach 7, even Kara, just because it is mentioned in a silly book. Why can't Super-girl open the book. Referring it to the Holy Grail could have been better!

*Attention: Dear Director, stop using the character of Superman if you are not showing him any kind of respect. Take a look how Synder uplifted his character. My Score: 6.5/10

What happened?
garabedian12312 December 2018
The first episode was really good, the 2nd was worse but still okay, and this 3rd one was a complete mess.

Where to start? So many plot holes and inconsistencies. ...Like Why does running fast start to kill BArry and Kara...they run fast all the time....Also why they need to slow time down anyways? It didn't help anyone. ..The superheroes conveniently forgot their powers when it was most useful...typical BS writing. I can run around the earth in 3 seconds but I'm not fast enough to swipe that book out of your hands???? REALLY???

This is also part of trivia I wrote
sscialli9 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Do not read on if you have never read Crisis on Infinite Earths: in the comic book series which was one I highly anticipated each week, as the crossover was immense! But the comics have a secret in the last issue, it is Superman, older partial grey hair , married to Lois and he is the one who acts to save all the worlds. His death leads all the heroes to pay tribute to him. As he once again proves why he is and once was The Greatest Superman of all. Powerful story, I am HIGHLY anticipating this series on tv now. It will be curious how they represent the comics. The TV series so far doesn't do Superman justice, but we also haven't seen the older Superman , yet!

Unsatisfying story.
cruise0120 July 2019
Supergirl 4.09 (4 out of 5 stars).

The episode continues with the crossover. Supergirl, Flash, Arrow and Superman face against the bad guy that is changing the course of history. By being a black suited Superman. Meanwhile, Arrow learns that this conflict is testing them for something bigger to come.

The episode is fun and has a lot of action to make it entertaining. Sadly, the story is not memorable.

Not fair for Superman fan.... Not even nearby
dr_ch12 December 2018
This crossover series was interesting in first two episode, not fully though. But after watching the third one, as a whole I can say this crossover is not that impressive. There wasn't much of a story.... Unless it's the 1st half of next years annual crossover. You shouldn't pull up so many characters when you can't give them their deserved space... And more importantly, why Superman's character needed to be used, I did not understand AT ALL. You are making the most beloved superhero look like a puppet. This is not a gender thing, but if you want to showcase supergirl as most invincible hero, go ahead.... there is no issue, but why you have to tear apart his reputation to raise her own??with all due respect, I can conclude it's not too impressive.

As I feared!
pirlo200412 December 2018
With the first crossover episode getting a 9/10 and the second getting 10/10, I'd hoped that this 'Supergirl' episode would carry the story on without adding the agenda that makes it the weakest of the 3 shows, alas, they didn't and made it the worst of the 3 episodes! I mean, she's a 'Super'girl, the clue is in the name, write her a decent script and then you wouldn't need to continually keep telling us that women are better than men, let her act it out! And let's stop trying so hard to make Alex Denvers a 'supergirl' She's terrible.... Batwoman on the otherhand was awesome! Let's hope they write her correctly! (Edit... hindsight is a beautiful thing)

I had wondered why they messed around with the order of the shows, and my best guess is by putting Supergirl last, it forces people to have to watch it! For ratings of a failing show maybe? I dunno!

who invited Lois?
glstrom-1426017 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Really should not bother pointing out weaknesses in these episodes as they are purely for entertainment value and not mandatory viewing. That being said it was sad to see Superman get his a$$ kicked but the professor and the constant pumping up of Supergirl is completely inconsistent with how she is treated the rest of the series, as a weak emotional indecisive confused good person. Always loses her powers and gets crushed, now could die from flying too fast??? WTF? And yes we know her sister is a lesbian, it is clear, woman, strong, hear me roar etc. Oh and lets demasculate Flash and Arrow while we're at it and go on about how many tats Batgirl has. (and can Arrows wife speak a language anyone can understand please, and I don't mean tech stuff, she doesn't enunciate and speaks to fast). Best part, Supergirl stopping bullet, weakest (hmm, so many from which to choose) how about Kara nervously approaching Wayne Manor like she is 5 years old...SHE IS FRIGGING SUPERGIRL,! Have some spine for once. Jimmy the thug and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) completely unbelievable unfunny and throw way parts. Ok, done, hope for better more super episodes to come.

Terrible ending just trying to push an agenda rather than tell a great story
Kash51426 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
What's up with the constant Superman bashing? The writers of Supergirl unrelentingly keep on putting down one of the most beloved character in DC's franchise to prop up Supergirl in some misguided feminist agenda. The whole episode felt sloppy. From the whole cast of Supergirl, extras included showing up to save the day. To the Flash & Supergirl getting their faces melted off for running/flying at superspeed... none of it made any sense. Anyone that disagrees with this needs to rewatch the first 2 parts of this crossover, to realize who terrible this ending was.

Why this Superman is so bad
aliases-5333413 February 2019
He looks nothing like Superman, skinny and crooked teethed... werewolf sat better on him. He is not a very good actor either. Nothing he does looks good, not majestic at all. Also, this superman really screws things more than anything in this show.

tombstone of doomed series which will not be allowed to die
Okay, so I'm watching on DVD some time later, and I'm only here because I'm a Melissa Benoist fan. As far as SUPERGIRL goes, this stuff is one too many to take. No, I am not close-minded with no imagination, I watch GÀME OF THRONES and sit there in Awe, but SUPERGIRL, aw come on...

I am 100% unlikely to ever see those other TV series, ARROW and THE FLASH, so for me, walking into Part 3 mid-story... high and dry with no paddle sailing down stupid story creek. The Flash kinda looks like a grown up dude in kid's pajamas and everybody bungles through their lines going through the motions in a throwaway adventure. Oddly enough, It's clear there are fans who are crazed about this, check out how the entire script is posted on the Quotes page... highest quota so far.

Helluva lot of effort went into it, but it failed to evoke any interest, my only positive reaction was towards Supergirl's smile when "the spell" wore off.

In short, It's actually a lot of junk. Very expensive junk. Not really good junk. But the little boys watching won't quite see it that way. One day when they're old and grey they'll maybe rewatch and whimper when they spot the shortcomings.

Last season there was a stretch when Supergirl was battling Reign. She got knocked down and fell down, down, down. I felt for her. There were a string of episodes there that had the series on the right track. Then it all fell apart again.

There is actually no hope for this series, it is doomed. It will however not be allowed to die, it is part of the much larger Arrowverse driving force, so it will linger on and on and on until it becomes an embarrassment beyond the current situation's scope.

I am not gonna be around for the next Season's DVD.
