Good, but a shadow of it's past

The recent episodes, including this one, are still above average tv quality, and I enjoy spending time with the characters. There are quite a few laughs. And then there's a lot of forced comedy, a LOT of misses, which you never got to see in the early seasons. (they did the »I'm talking to you, not getting that you're not there at all«-bit THREE times. Three times too often, if you ask me) Overall, in contrast to the genius past, this now feels more like everybody doing a 9-to-5-jobs.

A surprising completely watchable episode.

I rated this a 6. But it's a season 10 #6. Relative to other later MF seasons, this is a decent episode...meaning it didnt suck.

If it was in an earlier season, would probably get a 5.

Lower the bar as much as MF has, and mediocre episodes start looking a tad bit better.

2 out of 3 good stories

As with a few of the episodes in this 10th (and at the time potential final series) of the show the plots seem a little similar to ones that have gone before.

Despite the recycled "people think Phil and Gloria are a couple" angle, there is still fun to be had in that story, and I enjoyed the Jay and Claire one too, with it having a real sense of heart.

I didn't think the Mitch/Cam story worked though, I didn't find it overly funny.

Yes, 'Modern Family' is probably beyond its peak these days, but there is still a lot to like about it.
