And it was cool to know it was based on a real story, gave it more meaning. A great "feel good" movie
8.4/10.
Very well done film! Acting, script, and flow are all top notch as one would expect from the big names in this film. The characters are well developed and the entire piece is focused on family and community over greed and corruption; a pleasant turn from similar get-rich-quick type movies.
Definitely worth a watch!

- TriviaWhile some see the Boston Globe article mentioned as a goof, it is not. Actually, there was an initial article written around 2011 by a female journalist for the Globe that exposed the betting groups and the flaw. The HuffPost article was written later and focused more on Jerry and Marge themselves.
- GoofsWhen Jerry and Marge are explaining to Steve that they'd buy 312,000 tickets, Jerry says that it will take "four days of betting, two machines, twelve hours a day". Earlier, it had been established that a machine prints 1,000 tickets per hour. 312,000 tickets on two machines would take 156 hours, which is 13 days when printing for 12 hours per day.

Tyler: At Harvard, we learn a little something called binomial distribution. Look it up. Then you'll see why your odds are better when you fill out your own slips. You're welcome.
Jerry: Binomial distribution only considers two factors, not a third which is human error or a fourth, which is the time it takes for you to fill in the tickets. You gain a whooping 32 bucks for every $100,000 you win. You're welcome.
