In the beginning when in 1988, they are listening to a basketball game on the radio in the patrol car. The announcer says that Philadelphia "lost a heartbreaker" to Atlanta 103-101. This places the exact date as April 14, 1988.

In the 40th minute one sees the inside of a convenience store with US flags and Philadelphia newspapers. The shot then pans to a view of a convenience store across the street, Jamestown Milk. This is a Toronto shop on Parliament Street near Wellesley Street. The subsequent cemetery visit by Locke and his daughter was filmed a few blocks away.
During the squad room scene yellow coffee cups can be seen on the desks. When the angle changes the emblem for the convenience store chain Wawa can be seen. Wawa is a large Philadelphia area based chain with stores stretching from New Jersey to Florida.
