ABC‘s The Company You Keep has featured a slew of noteworthy guest stars in its first four episodes, from Luke Kirby as Jones to Marin Hinkle as Claire Fox. And the show adds another familiar face in The Company You Keep Season 1 Episode 5 — Paul Blackthorne.

The first Heart single to feature Nancy Wilson on lead vocals was “These Dreams,” with an iconic video that featured the guitarist and her sister Ann with peak Eighties hair, silk blazers, fog, and some more hair. But flash-forward to the present — with all that glam preserved on a high shelf like a can of hairspray collecting dust — and the song still holds up, particularly when Wilson performs it on acoustic with her husky vocals. Every second of the night, she’s lived another life.

With production slowly but surely getting underway on TV shows that were shuttered due to the coronavirus pandemic, NBC has announced its fall schedule.
Unlike Fox and The CW, the network is planning on bringing back much of its original programming later this year, with one new drama joining the fall lineup.
Law & Order: Organized Crime is the Svu spinoff starring Christopher Meloni, and it will be paired with its parent series on Thursday nights.
This will allow the two shows to have natural crossovers in a similar way to the #OneChicago franchise on Wednesday nights.
Chicago Fire, Med, and P.D. will be staying put on Wednesdays, which makes sense.
All three have posted solid ratings, so NBC does not need to do anything with them.
Mondays will see Manifest return in the fall after being banished to midseason for the 2019-20 TV season. This is great news for...

Since mid-March, the coronavirus pandemic has upended every aspect of life in the United States, causing stay-at-home mandates in most states in an attempt to contain the spread of Covid-19.
As a consequence, the entertainment industry — a multi-billion-dollar global business — has come to a grinding halt, with every television show and movie indefinitely shut down, putting most of the tens of thousands of people employed by those productions out of work. The shutterings hit the broadcast networks — Fox, NBC, CBS, ABC, and The CW — toward the end of the traditional TV season, so some shows had already completed production before the summer hiatus. Others — such as ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” which had shot 21 episodes of its 25-episode order — simply had to adjust accordingly, concluding its season early on April 9.
The bigger concern for the networks is what to do with their fall 2020 schedules, which under normal circumstances would have been unveiled to advertisers,...

Hugh Jackman is in big trouble in a newly released trailer for the HBO film Bad Education.
Premiering Saturday, April 25, the movie tells the true story of a student reporter who starts to trace embezzlement at the Roslyn School District in Long Island after the assistant superintendent makes a crucial mistake that hints at corruption that spans over a decade. Jackman stars as Dr. Frank Tassone, the superintendent of the district that he led to be the fourth best in the country. As the telepic unspools, he is forced to deal with the fallout of this scandal while attempting to protect others — and himself.

The old Universal Horror movies didn’t get much better than James Whale’s “The Invisible Man,” a cackling madman of a film, which followed the horrible misadventures of a scientist who turned himself invisible and wreaked havoc on the world, mostly because he could.
It’s wicked, it’s fun, and in many respects it’s the polar opposite of Leigh Whannell’s absolutely terrifying new reboot, a movie that cares a hell of a lot more about the title villain’s victims than it does about the old invisible bastard.
Whannell’s fiendish reinterpretation of H.G. Wells’ original story casts Elizabeth Moss as Cecilia Kass, a woman who flees her rich, abusive boyfriend at the beginning of the film, and suffers from paranoia and agoraphobia as she struggles to reclaim her life. The only way Cecilia believes Adrian Griffin will ever let her go is if he’s dead,...

Leigh Whannell’s Upgrade was one of the best films of last year, with a keen, kinetic style to flesh out his visceral take on body horror. Today we see the director take on an old favourite, a key horse in the Universal Horror stable – The Invisible Man.
Here’s the trailer,
Entertainment Weekly had the first look images and spoke to director Leigh Whannell about updating the monster for a new century.
The image of the Invisible Man in the floating trench coat and the floating sunglasses is one that is clearly etched into the public consciousness…I wanted to kind of get away from that and make something that was really modern, really grounded, or as grounded as you can be when you’re dealing with a film called The Invisible Man. Just something that was really tense and scary in a way The Invisible Man hasn’t been before.

NBC has canceled the summer drama series “The InBetween,” Variety has confirmed.
The show’s one and only season aired between May and August earlier this year. The series starred Harriet Dyer as Cassie, a woman who is able to see visions of the past and future as well as communicate with the dead. She uses her gifts to help her detective father solve a number of dark and puzzling murders.
The series also starred Justin Cornwell, Anne-Marie Johnson, Cindy Luna, Chad James Buchanan, and Paul Blackthorne. The series hailed from creator Moira Kirland, who also served as executive producer along with David Heyman, Nancy Cotton and Matthew Gross. Charlotte Sieling served as executive producer and directed the pilot. It was produced by Universal Television, NBCU International Television Studio, and Heyday Television.
“The InBetween” ran for 10 episodes over the summer, averaging around 2.6 million viewers in Live+Same Day while seeing little lift in delayed viewing.

NBC is closing the loop on its new spring-summer 2019 scripted series by cancelling freshman drama The InBetween.
The news is not surprising. The InBetween, starring Harriet Dyer, did not debut until after the end of the 2018-19 broadcast season. It was the lowest-rated NBC summer 2019 series in Live+Same Day ratings, something for which delayed viewing bumps could not compensate.
The InBetween‘s core creative team already has moved on to another project. In a competitive situation with multiple networks bidding, CBS in September landed with penalty Queens, a police drama from The InBetween creator/executive producer Moira Kirland, executive producer Matt Gross and studio Universal TV, where Gross is under an overall deal.
The InBetween joins NBC’s new midseason 2019 series, comedy Abby’s and dramas The Village and The Enemy Within, which also were canceled after one season.
The InBetween centered on Cassie Bedford (Dyer), who was born with a rare ability.

Is summer really as uneventful on television as it appears?
With all the questions we have for you after the week, we don't think so.
We've come up with some questions that we want you to answer. Get into the zone and have some fun!
1) Given the ambiguity of Rue's fate at then end of Euphoria Season 1, were you pleased the showrunner addressed it, or would you have rather waited until the next season to learn more?
2) Should Callie have moved out of the Coterie on Good Trouble? Do you want Dennis and Davia to get together soon or should they wait? Is the show losing its steam already or suffering from a sophomore slump?
3) The premiere of Preacher Season 4 offered a fairly hellish represenation of God as vengeful but with good taste in soft drinks. Do you think God's drink of choice would be Dr. Pepper, or would you...

Among new episodes, the CW’s Jane the Virgin was even with last week, as was NBC’s The InBetween.

Oliver Jackson-Cohen in ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ (Photo credit: Netflix).
Leigh Whannell has cast Oliver Jackson-Cohen, who stars in the Netflix supernatural drama series The Haunting of Hill House, as the lead in The Invisible Man.
Produced by Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum and Goalpost Pictures’ Kylie du Fresne, the horror movie inspired by the classic monster character starts shooting in Sydney this month.
Jackson-Cohen joins Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale), Aldis Hodge, Storm Reid and Harriet Dyer (The Inbetween) in the Universal Pictures film, whose plot is under wraps.
Deadline hails the casting of Jackson-Cohen as quite a coup considering Johnny Depp was originally in the frame to play the lead.
Whannell cast the English actor after being impressed by his performance as Luke Crain, one of five siblings who are haunted by memories of their old home and the terrifying events that drove them from it, in the Netflix series.

Blumhouse's remake of The Invisible Man arrives in February. Here's what we know about the studio's latest monster movie!
The Invisible Man, the classic Universal monster movie based on H.G. Wells's novel, lives again in a new reboot from Universal and Blumhouse.
This reboot stars Oliver Jackson-Cohen, the London-born actor best known as Luke Crain on Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House, which – in its depiction of the character’s struggles with addiction and past trauma – impressed the film’s creative team enough to clinch the lead role, for which he brings an applicable skill set to the Invisible Man’s gradual emotional descent into villainy and murder. His character will (dis)appear opposite Elisabeth Moss, who co-stars as the focus of the title character's ire.
Leigh Whannell directed the film, having worked off her own adaptation script of the Wells story.

ABC’s broadcast of the Espy Awards finished with an 0.9 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 3.87 million viewers Wednesday night. The three-hour show hosted by Tracy Morgan was on par with last year’s special in the demo in Nielsen fast nationals, while lagging slightly in viewers and trailing CBS’ Big Brother for the night’s top spots in both metrics. Still, the annual sports awards show gave ABC an overall victory on the night.
CBS was second overall with the Night 2 of Love Island taking over Big Brother‘s usual 8 Pm slot; Bb dipped a tenth with the move to 9 Pm. The UK import matched its demo rating from Tuesday’s series debut while ticking up in viewers.

The 2019 Espys matched the key demo rating (a 0.9/5 share) and total viewers (3.9 million) of the 2018 Espys, and ABC won Wednesday’s primetime.
That doesn’t really mean they did great, however, when you factor in the fact that last year’s special had sunk 36% from 2017’s version. That 2017 special had already sunk 18% from 2016.
CBS finished in second place last night, when “The Espys” were the only broadcast in ABC’s primetime.
