This is a great show with a strong cast. Paul Blackthorne is solid as always in these sorts of shows. lots of scope for character development and plot line. cant wait to see which direction it goes. thoroughly enjoyed the first episode and cant wait for more. can see this running for quite a while.
I've just watched the Pilot. The idea is sound and the main group of cast members is pretty good. I know it would be too much to ask for NBC to NOT use Nielsen Ratings for shows, but Wednesday at 10pm is a tough sell. On Demand viewership will be more realistic of who's really watching this.
I like the idea, but I'm not sure how well this will hold up given it is a Supernatural Cop Drama, but I like the idea of it.

I see comparisons to Medium and Ghost Whisperer here, I loved Medium and hated Ghost Whisperer. I am enjoying The Inbetween with 2 episodes in. Not sure why there is so much dislike for the lead, she's not as good as Arquette and much better than Love-Hewitt. Has she had neurotoxins injected into her face, of course she has. Don't be stupid, she's an actor. So I like her but my favorite is the detective dad followed closely by LA translplant detective...it's fun watching that isn't too prime time. I hope this show gets enough episodes to find its' legs.
Though with an old and already used idea, they managed to create a beautiful, fresh and unique in its own genre series.
The atmosphere is there, the acting by the lead actress is good and believable enough and the special effects are especially well-made.
The supporting cast does a good job in each episode.
I guess every viewer was awaiting news to a season 2, but as usually happens with series with a lot of potential, the network did a poor calculation, probably only based on viewers numbers and decided that was it!

The "In Between" pilot had many twists that I didn't see coming. I was expecting something straightforward, along the lines of "The Ghost Whisperer" or "Medium" but this one, so far at least, has layers. I'm not going to get into any details because I don't want to give anything away for those who haven't seen it yet but suffice to say, I hope that the writers and show runners continue in this vein.
I will mention that though that some of the critical review left me confused. For example, the comment about the main character's ingratitude when being given a gift. That was a very biased interpretation of the scene. What actually happened was the main character was unexpectedly visited by a detective who had, not once but twice been outright rude to her, and then he unexpectedly shows up at her home very early in the morning. His gift? A pasty. Oh was she supposed to fall all over herself with gratitude? He's lucky that she even deigned to speak to him and didn't slam the door in his face. And then, when she allowed him in and answered his questioned, he insulted her psychic abilities again by accusing her of "just guessing". So much for the other reviewer who said that he was convinced in the first 15 minutes.
We're we watching the same show? People really do see exactly what they want to see.
