According to the series showrunner, Marja-Lewis Ryan, Pam Grier was offered the opportunity to reprise the role of Kit. However, she declined, citing her commitment to Bless This Mess (2019) as the reason.
Although Sarah Shahi expressed interest in reprising her role as Carmen for season one, showrunner Marja-Lewis Ryan revealed in an interview that this is unlikely to happen. It was explained that a significant issue for Latinx fans of the original series is that Carmen, a Latina character, was portrayed by Shahi, who is not Latina.
